My Unexpected Marriage

Lisa opened the door to Zeus's office room and let Shanell enter then she closed the door. Shanell looked around his office. It was really cozy and big. Zues was sitting on his chair going through some files. There was a bundle of file on his desk. Shanell walked towards his desk amd Zeus saw her approacbing him. So he closed the file he was checking and stood from his seat and walked past the desk. He indicated her to sit on the couch which was in his office. Shanell sat down and Zeus sat opposite to her. She looked into his eyes and she felt that the anger which overwhelmed her a minute ago is melting down rapidly. She tried to maintain her serious posture and rearranged her thoughts to figure out how to ask him about the truth about what she heard from her first and second brother. She was struggling to ask him because she knew that she could never shout at him. So she thought that the only way to ask him is to directly asking about it without any emotions come in between.

"Shan, I know why you are here now. I know what is going on in your mind. But I need you to promise me something first." Zeus said before Shanell could say anything.

Shanell tried hard to hide her emotions and looked blankly at Zeus. So that he could finish what he was going to say.

Zeus analyzed Shanell's expression and said.

"Shan, promise me that you will not try to cancel our marriage."

"Zeus you are asking me to promise you that I will never cancel our marriage. Even after deceiving me to this marriage arrangement, you are asking me this? How could you ask something like this Zeus? Do you know how I feel right now?" Shanell couldn't control herself after hearing what he said but she tried her best to not become angry and said those to him in a calm tone.

Zeus understood that she is angry and really wants to scream and scold him but she is trying hard to not do anything like that. Zeus's respect towards her increased. Even in this type of situation she tried to be patient, it shows that how much she could withstand a crisis and handle a situation.

"Shan I know how you feel right now but you need to trust me. I never wanted to hide anything from you but I was not ready to disclose the truth about our marriage arrangement to you. But after hearing about it from so many people around you, I know you feel like you were trapped by everyone. But it is not the truth."Zeus said and Shanell could really feel warmth in his tone.

"Then why don't you enlighten me with the truth Zeus?" Shanell asked expecting him to tell her everything.

"Not now Shan, You are really angry right now and anything I say will become lame excuses. I don't want that to happen. So I promise you that I will tell everything to you after you calmed down." Zeus said hoping Shanell will agree to it.

Shanell thought for a while and said.

"Alright but don't expect me to forgive you that easily."

"I will try my best to get forgiveness fom you my dear." Zeus replied.

Shanell felt her cheeks burning and turning to crimson. She instantly looked down. Zeus noticed it and he couldn't hide his smile. He understood her now completely. He knew how she felt about him now from her face. No matter how much she try to hide it she cannot hide it anymore. Zeus stood from his seat and walked towards her. He sat beside her and slowly touched her chin and let her face him. Her face was red and Zeus couldnot control his urge to kiss her. He looked into her eyes and moved close to her. Their faces were inches apart and Shanell was stupified at the moment. Her heart was racing and even skipped some beats. She struggled to breath and she felt his breath on her lips. Suddenly regaining her conscience she pushed him away and jumped from her seat.

"I think I should go." Shanell said and walked towrds the door.

"Shan..."

His voice stopped her from walking further. But there is a difference in his voice. Everytime he talked he had a commanding tone but now when he called her the commanding tone disappeared. It was more like an apologetic tone. Shanell didn't turned around because she was embarrassed to face him. The anger have fully gone and some other new feeling which she never felt before overwhelmed her. Zeus walked towards her and said.

"I don't know how to apologize. I never apologized to anyone. But if I don't apologize to you for hurting your feelings I think I will loose your trust in me and even you eventually. So please forgive me Shan for keeping secrets from you. I will tell you everything when you are ready so please trust me..."

Shanell turned to look at Zeus and saw that Zeus is kneeling down infront of her. Her eyes opened widely and even felt a hint of moist in them. She touched Zeus's shoulder and helped him to stand up.

"I forgive you Zeus. I will trust you and I am willing to give another chance to you Zeus. But don't make me regret it." Shanell said.

"Thank you Shan. I will try hard to make it up to you my dear."

"Alright then I am leaving."

"Wait before you go back go and meet Lisa."

"Why???" Shabell asked in confusion.

Zeus then explained about his meeting with her dad and the details about their discussion.

"So you are trying to keep me beside you from now on."

"Yes Miss Shanell Williams, I am going to keep you beside me so get used to it."

"Alright Mr. Sam Zeus Joseph. Then I will meet Lisa now. See you tomorrow after my interview. Let's have a date and I will let you explain the misunderstanding about our marriage arrangement."

"Okay my lady."

Shanell giggled hearing Zeus call her my lady and left.
