My Way To You

Chapter 494 - Listening but Maddening Part 3

Davion shook Donte's hand to call his attention. Donte looked up and saw that his brother winked. Donte tilted his head, they were to walk in utter silence until they reached the altar but Davion was being mischievous. He flashed Donte a smile as he gestured with his lips to look ahead. Donte steeped away slightly so he could see what his brother was gesturing.

Donte's eyes grew wide, he had seen the church before. It was always a lonely looking church, white walls slightly dulled out from the weather over the years. A dull blue-gray roof and a large tower that housed a large, green orange bell.

The building stood tall on the top of the biggest hill in the village only surrounded by lush green grass making it look more lonely when people didn't come by to visit but today was different. Today the old church was freshly painted a milky white, the blue-gray roof was replaced with a vibrant blue one. Flower wreaths and ribbons decorated the whole building.

The bell in the bell tower was polished to beautiful silver and from the tower a giant banner was hung down. It was a rich red colour with gold ruins and symbols going down it. Donte's eyes widened with excitement. Davion pulled Donte pulled him back into the formation.

Donte looked up and he was ready to talk to his brother but Davion raised his index finger to his lips, signaling him to stay silent. Donte pulled in his lips as he blushed. Davion couldn't help but smile, his younger brother looked too cute trying his best to hold in his excitement.

The group finally go to the church and spread out so that they could all face the church. The doors opened and a middle aged man came out, he was wearing an elegant white robe with gold trim. He wore a long, thick shawl that sat over his shoulders and ran down the front of his body. On the paneling of the shawl there were red, blue, marigold and green runes decorating it.

The middle aged man looked at the crowd and brought his hands from behind his back forward. His sleeves were long and bands of red, blue, marigold and green decorated it. The moment his slightly sun kissed hands were in the air three young men dressed in white robes and gold trim came out from behind him.

The young men walked in single file, the first carried a basket, the second carried a crystal bowl with water and the last was carrying a pillow with a small golden statute of the Goddess. Davion watched as the first young man begin the crowning. He then looked down at Donte and tried his best to not laugh. Donte stood tall and perfectly still, waiting for his turn.

Finally the first young man stood in front of Donte. He narrowed his gaze and stared down at Donte. Davion glared into the young man's face. After hearing a small cough from a parent down the line the young man pursed his lips and pulled out a beautiful leaf crown made of gold. The leaves were made of rubies, sapphire, citrine and emerald. He dropped the crown on to Donte's head without a care then stepped sideways to the next parent child pair.

The parent beside Donte glared down the young man and dared with his eyes to do the same to their child. The second young man shook his head as he fixed the crown on Donte. He then dipped his thumb into the water and pressed his thumb to Donte's forehead. Davion gave the second young man a smile. The young man nodded his head and then side stepped to the next pair.

The last young man looked at Donte indifferently. He picked up the small golden statue and turned it slightly. It had one main rune with four smaller runes around it on the bottom of the statue. He placed the bottom of the statue onto the wet spot on Donte's forehead then side stepped to the next.

Once the young men finished they stepped to the side of the group and looked up at the middle aged man. The middle aged man smiled, his emerald green eyes sparkled as he brought his hands back down. The first parent and child lead the group to the middle aged man. They formed a single file and waited for the middle aged man to lead them into the church.

The man turned and lead them inside. Donte's eyes sparkled as he took in the sight on the interior. The pews were overflowing with flowers. It looked like a flower forest rather then a church. The line moved forward until they reached the front. The line split into two as they took theirs places in the pews.

Davion sat down with Donte, they looked straight ahead and looked at the altar. It too had transformed for the ceremony. The old wooden altar was now replaced with a white marble one. It had a beautiful forest scene carved into the front of it as flowers decorated the top. Behind the alter was a shiny, crystal statue of a woman kneeling as she raised her hands into the air as if she was receiving something.

The middle aged man stood by the alter and waited for everyone to take theirs seats. Once they all sat down he walked behind the alter and waited. The three young men walked up to the middle aged man and presented their objects, the empty basket, the crystal bowl with the water and the pillow with the golden statute.

Then the young men stepped to the side and kneeled. The middle aged man placed the pillow into the basket carefully along with the statue. He then grabbed the basket and placed it into the crystal woman's hands.. He turned back to the alter and looked at the crystal bowl. He placed a a hand over the bowl and raised the other upwards towards his lips.

"Glaonn uiscí íonachta an cruthaitheoir amach. Tabhair an solas do na daoine óga agus do beannachtaí a roinnt.." He chanted as his hand started to glow a soft marigold.
