Chapter 33 – Yan Lin Was Scolded Part 1

On one side,  there was the intense preparation for the formal company listing, and on the other side, there was the final investigation and trial of the heartwretching murder cases.

In the past few days, Zu Jin only slept three or four hours a day. Her dark circles made it look like she had been punched a few times. She didn’t even wear makeup these days and was walking around the top floor barefaced.

One of the management leaders who was at the meeting had the courage to joke around. “After the listing is successful, the first thing President Jin should do is to go to the beauty salon.”

Zu Jin sat in her chair and glared at him coldly. “The first thing I will do is fire you.”

The leader put both hands up in surrender at once. “Jin Jie, I was wrong! I have my children and my parents to take care of…”

Everyone in the conference room couldn’t stop themselves from laughing. They had been under pressure for several days in a row.

Unlike Zu Jin’s tense work atmosphere, Yan Lin’s side was as relaxed and calm as ever.

However, Chloe’s headquarters had been emailing him with the hope that he would make a visit. The company’s image had been affected by Yan Yuelin. As the boss, if he openly came forward and did some charity events, then Chloe Investments could get rid of this black spot in their image as quickly as possible.

The headquarters urged Yan Lin, but he still did not go.

Zu Jin was busy with the company listing and could not take time off from it. Also, he did not feel comfortable leaving Zu Xiaofei with other people. Thus, he could only postpone the trip.

Yan Lin drove his daughter to a shopping mall this weekend.

Zu Xiaofei usually ate lunch at the kindergarten. The food was nutritious, but not delicious. This little girl had a big appetite, so she had to eat during lunch time.

Not only did Yan Lin want his daughter to eat more nutritious food, but he was also worried that she didn’t eat enough. He would cook big feasts for her on the weekends and let her eat until she was stuffed.

Yan Lin got out and went around to the other side of the car. He opened the door and lifted Zu Xiaofei out from the child safety seat.

Then, they walked into the mall holding hands.

When they passed by the seafood area, Zu Xiaofei suddenly stopped to see the soft-shelled turtle in the tank.

Yan Lin’s patience was exceptionally good for his daughter, so he stood by and waited for her.

But at this time, six or seven reporters came out of nowhere with the cameramen and rushed towards them like a swarm of bees.

“President Yan, when will the court’s verdict on your brother, Yan Yuelin, be decided?”

“Why did Yan Yuelin hire someone to kill them?”

“…Do you have any opinion on this matter?”

“Is it because you competed with Yan Yuelin for the Yan Group that led him to such extremes?”

One question came after another from the reporters and the camera flashes and shuttering sounds were intense.

The people who were walking around the mall had never seen such a commotion before. They instantly turned their heads towards them.

Without any hesitation, the ones who liked drama followed the reporters into a circle and watched.

Yan Lin bent down to pick up Zu Xiaofei and covered her little face with his big hand. He tried to find a gap around them to escape.

But they were surrounded instantly. It was impossible to leave.

When a reporter held a mic on top of Zu Xiaofei, he couldn’t tolerate it any longer.

Yan Lin frowned with a slightly frosty expression and his eyes became sharp.

“Get out of the way!”

The reporter that was in a frenzy suddenly trembled and had goosebumps when Yan Lin shouted this.

However, the other reporters did not give up.

Yan Lin’s identity was made public so recently and they were the first to really come into contact with this famous person, so how could they flinch away from him that easily?

However, they still wanted to get some information out of Yan Lin.

Yan Lin gently patted his daughter on the back to show her comfort. He lowered his head and whispered something in her ear. Then, the father and daughter turned and left the mall in the eyes of the reporters.

The reporters’ video lasted less than five minutes, but it became a hot headline two hours later.
