Mystical Academy: The Mystery of the World

3 Thoughts are Truth and Lies are Spoken

She kissed my forehead and started braiding my hair that makes me sleepy. It is kind of weird because it is a dream yet that dream makes me sleepy.

"How you do like your hair would look like?" she asked me like I was her child.

"I don't know…" I answer. "Do you know where my father is?" I asked her, didn't think of my words. Father? I was looking for George. Her eyes becomes sad and there's pain on it. I feel guilty on asking it because the love and happiness in her eyes a while ago just disappear like a pop of a bubble. I didn't meant to change it with sadness and pain.

"Your father? I don't know, darling." She said with full of agony.

"Am I already dead and talking to a Goddess Spirit?" I asked her. She giggled and I stopped on how it change her expression so easily. She's so expressive.

"No, my sweet child. You are not dead yet. I just came to you to have time with you. I missed you a lot…" I am confused. "Oh, time to go back." She said and stood after fixing my hair. "Remember one thing, my child. I am always around. We live in a cruel world and I am the only one whom you can trust." She kissed my forehead. I know, I can feel that I can trust her.

I heard a soft sound of classical music. The Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven… how I love that music. It was soothing. The pain in my head is stinging also my arm, my shoulder and my thigh. I can't move my right arm and my leg too. Damn, how should I survive on this body pain?

I winced when I tried to open my eyes. The little lights is making my head hurt.

"Easy." The masculine voice makes me stopped. I relaxed myself and I gently open my eyes to meet a crystal green eyes. He smiles at me. "How are you, Adhiti?" he asked me. I acted confused and innocent.

"I am not good. The wounds are extremely painful." I answer him monotonously. I tried my best to sit up and I succeeded though it was all painful. Damn! Are there any pain killers?

"You shouldn't move." He said and gave a glass of water to me. I took it by my left hand and sipped on it a little. "What happened to you all these years?" he asked me like he knows me.

"What happened to me?" I asked blinking. "I do not understand what you are talking about—mister but those years I was with my father."

"Your father? Kraig?" he furrows.

"No. I don't know Kraig. Besides, I don't know who you are. May I know your identity?" I asked formally acting all monotonous. "And where in the world am I?"

"Adhi, it's me, Nick. Don't you remember?"

"That's absurd. You are Adhiti Patterson."

I blinks twice and search around the room. It looks like a bedroom than a hospital. Or am I on his bedroom? I saw my bag and my broken helmet sitting on the table. I look back at him. He took the water from me and put it on the table beside him.

"My name is not Adhiti, Sir." I said formally. I started removing the brace on my right arm that is supporting it. He holds my left hand. It is unusual to me now that it has a big effect on me on how the way he touch me.

"Do not remove it." he demands.

"How many hours am I here?" I asked him as I push his hands away from me.

"Seventy-Three hours." He answered. So, I have been here for three days. Hmm, I didn't expect that it would be that long.

He stares at me and I stare back at him. My description on him is he is a hunk man. He got this strong jaw, a crossbow shape of lips, little big green eyes, thick eyebrows, pointed high slender nose and brown hair.

"If you are not my Adhiti then who are you?" he asked sounding more like he is demanding me to answer his question. His Adhiti?

"I am Catastrophe Canfield."

"Catastrophe... you mean, destruction, disastrous, tragedy...calamity?" he questioned.

"You are good at the synonyms. And yes, that is the name given to me by my father."

"I don't believe you." he said as he folds his muscular arms furrowing at me.

"Then don't. I do not care if you believe me or not. At this moment, I wanted to get out of here." I said monotonously. He sighed like he is thinking.

"Who are those people chasing you?"

"I don't have an idea who they are and what they are. I came home from school and they trespass in our property. My father who is still alive, and probably had survived told me to escape and that; they started chasing me and end up almost killing me." I explained to him. He seemed that he believe me. That's right Nick, believe me.

"And where's your father?"

"I don't know." I lied. He move closer to me and tuck my messy hair at the back of my ear. He studies my facial features and it is unusual to me but I have to stay impassive.

"Are you certain that you don't know who I am? Or perhaps on where you are?"

"Yes. And where am I?" I asked him.

"You are in Mystical Academy. In this school, we choose the people who can only enter here. Since you have nowhere to go—"

"How can you say that I have nowhere to go?" I cut him off that makes him chuckle and smile lopsidedly.

"I just said it. You are safer here as long as I am here. I choose you to be my apprentice, and I; as your mentor. Are we clear?" I blink for a moment.

"Mentor?"

"Yes. Every student here has their own mentor or advisers. You will take the classes—"

"Why do you want me to be your Apprentice?" I asked him frankly sounding a little agitated on his decision. I should be the one to decide.

"Because, I believe that you are not Catastrophe."

"See for yourself." I said tilting my head to my bag. "That contains of my I.D. cards and my identity."

He looked at the bag and walk towards it. He started pulling out my things and he checked each of it. He read a few papers that George put and it includes my cards and my school I.D. and license. George put it there for me to survive outside in this cruel world.

"Your father's name is George Canfield who adopted you when you are just an infant?"

"Yes. He told me that it is practical to have a child without a partner so he adopted me when I was an infant. He got this Asperger's syndrome."

"Asperger's syndrome, huh." He looks unsatisfied on the information. Hell I care! "So you put stack of money inside your bag and your files."

"There's an explanation." I said. Sure he won't stop questioning me. "That night, he gave it to me that is when I saw that he is still alive. He told me to leave so I did. He gave me that bag. He's a genius that's why it all contains of my files and personal things. He wanted me to survive on my own without him or else both of us will die. And I don't know why I should explain myself and I don't even know who you are."

"What kind of father is he?" he asked narrowing his eyes on me.

"A genius father who lacks of empathy. If you wanted to know who he is, make a research about Asperger's syndrome, by that way you will understand what he is and why he did such thing to abandon me."

He stared at me for a moment, checking my expressions and everything. He is a curious man and all I have to do is to act all the way I have. I change myself to be all expressionless and emotionless. I have to take that commitment for me to survive.

"Alright, I will serve your dinner." He said and there's a knock on a door and it opened.

A girl in black hair that looks like an Asian girl enters who is wearing a black little dress with a smile on her face. She looked at me and her eyes twinkled.

"Adhi!" she squeals and runs to me. She hugged me tight that made me winced. My arms, damn it is all aching. She also smell like strawberry and.. a man's perfume?

"Marissa, you are killing her."

The girl Marissa immediately pull off and apologized on me. Her eyes widened when she looked into my eyes and checked every part of me.

"Oh, woah..." she said with wide eyes. "You are not wearing contact lens right?" She asked unbelievably.

"Yes." I answer it with a sound of question.

"Catastrophe, this is Marissa. Marissa, her name is Catastrophe." He said.

"Hello, Marissa." I greet monotonously. She was taken aback and she stepped back a little and looked at me.

"Does she have amnesia?" she asked him.

"No." he utter.

Marissa put her hand over my head and iciness runs to my head to all of my body. Her skin is glowing... she's healing me? It sent shivers all over my body and the warm and chill makes me feel wonderful. She removes her hand and looked at me.

"Do you remember me now?" she asked.

"I don't. Because I don't have an amnesia." I said forthrightly. "Why do you keep calling me Adhi or Adhiti? Who is she?"

"She's my best friend." Marissa said. "We grew up together..." she suddenly sounded so lonely. "Then last two years, she just disappear before our performance. I'm sorry, I thought you are her. But you really looked like her."

"And what did you do to me?" I asked her. I remove the brace on my right hand and the band aid on my head. "I feel fine. You got some sort-of supernatural healing power?"

"Yup!" she said cheerily.

"And what are you people?" I asked frankly.

"We are people who got supernatural powers. That's why this school is only for those people. We are sometimes called freaks because some of us had ESP, like telekinesis, telepathy, psychic powers, clairvoyance..."

"I know what ESP is"

"So what's your supernatural power?" she asked me. I don't want to tell. And I won't tell. It will spoil my plan.

"I don't. I am just a human. That means," I looked at Nick. "I am not suitable for this freak school of yours."

"Hey! You should prepare her dinner, right?" Marissa told Nick. He nodded and left the room. I looked back at Marissa. "It's alright, as soon as Nick is your mentor. He won't let anything happen to you." she winked.

"What is he?" I asked her.

"He's martial arts professor and a great fencer." She winks. "He's hot, right?"

"Hot? How can you say that he's hot? He is not in a high temperature, right?" I asked acting all quizzical. I move my legs down as it hangs on the bed. I felt no pain at all.

"Well, he's a hunk, gorgeous, sexy..." she teased with those childish giggles of her.

"You like him?" I asked frankly. Then she laughs out loud.

"No. Silly, he's my half-brother." She said. "I thought you like him, that's why I said that." damn, hilarious.

"I don't." I stood and felt the cold floor. I heard my watch beeping and I walk towards the table where my bag is and I pick my watch there. George is calling me. I pick my phone on the table and answer his call.

"C, I assume that you are fine."

"Yes, I am father. Are you alright, father?"

"Yes, I will break our communication because they might be after me."

"I understand. I am here at what they call Mystical Academy where freaks are enrolled."

"Good then, I will leave now." He hangs up and I put down my phone feeling beaten.

"Is your father coming?" she asked me. I turn to her.

"No. He needs to leave."

Someone knocked on the door and it opened. A lady in curly bouncy hair wearing a long slit dress. Her breast is full and pushed up showing her cleavage. She is a beauty and she looks kind.

"You must be, Catastrophe?" she asked.

"Yes." I said not even using any verbal gestures.

"I am Leona, the new Principal of the school."
