''Very well, hear with attention because I will say what you need to do in the third stage'' Hiruzen said but before he continued, the brown haired man began to talk ''Lord Hokage, allow me to speak, I'm the Third Stage proctor, Hayate Gekkō.'' and observed Hiruzen expression, seeing the latter nodding, he continued

''There's something that I *cough* want you all to do before the Third Stage, we will be doing a preliminary stage before going to the real stage'' Hayate said while looking at the genin teams, some of them were surprised before Shikamaru exclaimed, losing his usual lazy behavior ''Preliminary? I don't understand! What's the objective of it?''

Hayate looked at them calmly before saying ''Well... you see, the first and secons stage of the Chuunin Exam seemed to be a bit easy, the fact is that we never expected that there would have so many teams that passed it, the reason we're doing *cough* the preliminary stage is because we need to eliminate *cough* some teams, the Third Stage will have many important guests, we can't waste their times because they only came to see the best of the best, if there's someone that don't feel good, you can give up. The preliminary stage will start right now''

Kiba yelled ''What? We barely survived the second stage and you already want us to fight?'' but Hayate ignored him and said ''So... if there's someone that want to give up, now is the time''

A certain gray haired teenager said ''Sir, I want to give up'' yes, the one that gave up is Kabuto 'Aah, Sasuke, how I would love to stay and fight you... but with Lord Orochimaru here, I doubt that I'm needed... and you, Naruto Uzumaki, I will discover why 'he' look wary of you' he thought before going away.

Then, Hayate began to explain ''The winner will be decided in a fight one against one, sudden death. There's no rules, you can fight till one is dead or the enemy is unconscious/unable to fight back'' he looked at Anko, that said in a low voice ''Open the panel''

In a second, a huge panel was revealed to everyone, Hayate said ''The pairing will be decided randomly, the name of the two genins that will fight will appear in the huge panel behind me''

Names began to appear and change to another before it finally stopped as 'Yoroi Akado' versus 'Sasuke Uchiha', Hayate then said that the two genins should stay in the arena while the rest need to go to the superior floor.

Doing so, everyone was observing Sasuke and Yoroi, that thought 'How is that possible? I heard that Lord Orochimaru went to find him and put a curse mark on him, somehow he was able to escape? No.. it isn't possible'

Hayate then said ''Begin!'' without waiting, Yoroi did a hand seal as his hand began to be covered in a pure, blue chakra, Sasuke looked a bit wary as he picked a kunai and throwed it, his enemy, however, was prepared as he blocked it perfectly, Sasuke then activated his sharingan.

''Heh'' Yoroi laughed as he suddenly appeared in front of Sasuke and punched him, the black haired boy avoided the punch by redirecting it, dominating the battle rhythm, he took the opportunity to throw his enemy on the ground and without letting Yoroi to do anything, a kunai was put on the latter neck.

''I...'' Yoroi seemed to be giving up but before Sasuke could relax, the man hand suddenly grabbed his own as he felt his strength going out of his body, the black haired boy of course wouldn't let this happen as his kunai cut his enemy hands.

''GAAAH'' He yelled in pain but before he could react, Sasuke kicked Yoroi to the air with great strength, this time, without hesitating, the black haired boy did hand and said in a low voice ''Fire Release: Great Fireball!''

A huge fireball came out of Sasuke mouth as it went towards Yoroi, that was unable to do anything against it because of the pain he was feeling, after it hit his enemy, everyone could see someone with black marks on his entire body, many parts of his clothing was directly turned into ashes, Hayate then checked his pulse and said ''He's unconscious, just too injured, this round winner is: Sasuke Uchiha!''

Sakura then screamed ''YEAH! Sasuke, I knew you would beat this uglytard!'' Naruto, at the side, just nodded in satisfaction, though his best friend and rival hesitated, almost making him lose, in the end, he was able to revert the situation and win.

The nine rookies applauded greatly Sasuke win, even though they will be enemies in these exams, they're, after all, friends that care for each other.

Hayate looked at this and felt pleased with their friendship, this kind of friendship is rare as in this world, someone killing a friend for benefits is normal, friends can be turned into foes easily, he then said ''Now, we will see who will be fighting next!''
