Chapter 11 : April Fool’s Day

Xia Lin’s room had a good view and was well-lit. As soon as one entered, they could catch the afterglow of the sunset, and it was warm enough for winter.

Song Yan was the first to occupy the bed by the window, lying down on his back in 大 as he lets out a cozy sigh, “I’m so damn tired.”

“Get back to your bed.” Xia Lin didn’t want to let him get away at all times.

Song Yan lay still on the bed, just tilting his head and looking at Xia Lin with a resigned expression, “Xia Lin, do you really not love me anymore?”

“……” Xia Lin choked silently in his heart, but he knew Song Yan definitely didn’t mean that. So he grimaced and grumbled back, “When did I ever love you?”

“I clearly remember, when I was in junior high school, you still held my hand and said you liked me and wanted to stay with me for the rest of our lives or something ……”

Xia Lin’s heart skipped a beat, that was the first time he mustered up the courage to confess his love to Song Yan, but it was taken as a joke by Song Yan’s ignorant heart.

In his previous life, when he and Song Yan were inseparable, Song Yan had never mentioned this incident to him again. He thought Song Yan had long forgotten about it, but he never thought that in this life, Song Yan would still remember it.

When Song Yan saw Xia Lin’s sudden silence, he incredulously propped up his upper body and looked at him, “No way Xia Lin, you’ve even forgotten what you said?”

Xia Lin then went along with the steps, “Who can remember what was said in junior high school. Are you sure it was me who said it and not some girl in the same class?”

“How is it possible to remember wrong?” Song Yan raised his voice, “At that time, your face was flushed and you were simply adorable! If it hadn’t happened to be April Fool’s Day that day, I might have really been fooled by you!”

Xia Lin was stunned for a moment, that day was April Fool’s Day? No wonder Song Yan laughed out loud after hearing that and said, “Xia Lin, you’re fucking tricking me.” It turned out to be April Fool’s Day!

Xia Lin felt a black out in front of his eyes, hating himself for not picking a good day to confess his love. He deserved to be taken for a donkey’s liver and lungs. (T/N To be taken as donkey’s liver and lungs actually comes from the idiom Kind-hearted as donkey liver and lungs which is equivalent to doing a job for someone and instead of thanking you, they blame you for helping them.)

When Song Yan saw that Xia Lin did not say anything, he thought he was not interested in this topic. So he got up and paced over to the box of specialties and squatted down. He cried out as he opened the box, “Heartless creature, I bought this and that to make you happy, but you don’t even like me that much…”

The first thing you need to do is to get a good idea of what to expect.

In fact, in his previous life, Song Yan had also brought him Australian specialties. But, at that time, Xia Lin only had Song Yan in his eyes, and the fact that he had returned would be the greatest news. Therefore, he could not remember what Song Yan had actually brought back.

When Song Yan saw that he was finally interested in the souvenirs, he excitedly took out all the things in the box. This included food, things to use, and things to play with.

Some of them could actually be bought in China, but they were not very common.

Xia Lin was fiddling with an exotic pendant when he suddenly noticed a small box in the corner of the box that looked familiar.

“This is…” He subconsciously took the box out and looked at it carefully.

Unexpectedly, Song Yan, as if he had been electrocuted, snatched the box away and said incoherently, “This one isn’t, I’ve stuffed it wrong.”

Xia Lin’s face darkened: ” Protection. Contraceptive. A condom?”

This was not at all strange to Xia Lin, whose actual age was twenty-eight, but if it was in the box of Song Yan, who was under eighteen, it looked a bit weird.

Song Yan blushed, “I swear, I haven’t used this stuff. Look at the package, it’s not what you think!”

He remembered that in his last life, before he met his true love, Yu Luotong, Song Yan was indeed a straight, innocent man who at most watched movies and jerked off. He had never even held a girl’s hand, let alone sex.

Xia Lin asked, “Then what did you buy this thing for?”

Song Yan stammered, “I was just…curious about what it really looks like…”
Curious about what it really looks like ……”

“Are you kidding me? You’ve been jerking off to countless movies and you’ve never seen what it looks like?”

Song Yan blushed profusely and hesitated for a long time before telling the truth: “I’ll be eighteen in a month.”

“So what?”

“I want …… to give myself an unforgettable coming-of-age gift.”

Xia Lin froze for a moment and suddenly wanted to laugh a little: “The Coming-of-Age gift you’re talking about is finding someone to break your virginity?”

Song Yan blushed even redder and was even a little exasperated, “Xia Lin what are you laughing at! In a few months you’ll be an adult too, don’t tell me you don’t have any similar thoughts at all!”

“I really don’t have that idea.” The smile on Xia Lin’s face faded.

In his last life, he had only wanted to give his first time to Song Yan, and he did. But unfortunately, Song Yan’s first time was not his.

That person might have been Yu Luotong, or perhaps it was someone else, Xia Lin did not pursue it, nor did he ever want to know.

As for this life, he didn’t even want to give it to Song Yan.

If he could successfully pull himself out of Song Yan’s quagmire, he could just let his relationship go, even if he was going to be single for the rest of his life.
