New Age Of Glory

Chapter 12 - 11 - First day of testing ends.

Li Haoxuan finally beat the Skeleton King and he couldn't help but feel proud of himself. Though he received a few hits, he didn't receive any external help at all. Of course, Ye Xiu would still occasionally give him advice throughout the battle which helped him immensely.

"Did he drop anything rare?" Ye Xiu asked as he approached the boss's dead body.

Li Haoxuan looked at the loot drop he received and saw one rare material. "There are two types of items. Two drops of [The King's Sword shard], and one [King's Helmet]."

"Excellent. The [King's Helmet] can be used to craft a silver equipment for your brother. As for the shards, we'll save it for your weapon," Ye Xiu said as he reached out and pats Li Haoxuan on his head. "Good job."

Li Haoxuan who was praised, can't help but feel shy. "Uhh… anyway, here is your weapon back. It really felt nice to have it when playing unspecialized," Li Haoxuan said as he attempted to trade it back so he can give it to Ye Xiu. Unfortunately, much to his surprise, his trade request was rejected.

"You can have it. I have a lot of spares," as Ye Xiu said this, he equipped another Myriad Manifestation Umbrella.

Two people stood before each other, the same silver weapon in hands. Li Haoxuan looked over at Qiu Fei and Qiao Yifan who avoided his gaze. Then his eyes move to Yu Whenzhou who only faked a cough.

"It is common knowledge that professional players will have several silver weapons as spares. After all, you won't know what will happen during the upgrading process. The equipment may break and if that happens without spares, it would have been a nightmare," Yu Wenzhou stated as a matter of fact.

Li Haoxuan who was tricked could only swallow down his words and blame himself for being easy to trick.

"You still haven't reached level 21, right? Let's do another round," Ye Xiu said with a smile. "Don't worry, I have seen enough of your potential. So the next run will be a quick one. After the game later, come and see me-"

[System Announcement: Dear Players, the system will undergo maintenance. Asking all players to safely log out within fifteen minutes.]

Before Ye Xiu could finish his sentence, a system announcement rang throughout the dungeon. Li Haoxuan's face brightened up, thinking that he was saved. If he was to be honest, he was getting bored on playing the Skeleton Graveyard dungeon.

"Fifteen minutes is enough for two runs. Let's hurry!"

Of course, Ye Xiu wouldn't let Li Haoxuan have it easy. In the end, they did another two runs and Li Haoxuan's rotten luck strikes again on the last round, summoning the last of the three hidden bosses in Skeleton Graveyard Dungeon, Skeleton Mage.

[System: Hidden Boss Skeleton Mage First Kill Achievement. Team Member:…]

[System Announcement: Dear Players, the system will undergo maintenance in 60 seconds. Asking all players to safely log out. Count down begins: 59]

The announcement for the first kill was overridden by the system announcement that the server will go down.

The team quickly left the dungeon and logged out of the game. As soon as they did, they were all stricken with a bout of dizziness.

"Oh god! What is this! This is worse than having a headache from fever! Are we going to experience this each time after logging out? Tell me I am not the only one feeling this severe headache. Captain, are you feeling alright? Old Ye, are you alright? Is everyone alright? Does anyone need the bathroom? No? Then I can go, right? I've been holding it for a while now because I was left behind so I wanted to catch up. Damn it! Why does logging in have to be so complicated?!"

Huang Shaotian immediately complained as soon as he entered the real world. Fortunately for Li Haoxuan and Li Zhihuan, this was the second time they experienced it so they were able to cope with it better than the rest.

Li Haoxuan did a quick stretch before he let the medical officer check on him.

"How are you feeling?"

"The dizziness is there, but compared to the first time, it was much bearable," Li Haoxuan replied. The medical officer nods his head before letting Li Haoxuan go.

The first thing Li Haoxuan did was going to Li Zhihuan's side. "Zhihuan, how are you feeling?" he asked as he helped Li Zhihuan to his wheelchair.

"Feeling alright. The headache is not as bad as the first time. You?" Li Zhihuan asked back as he looked up at his brother.

"Same. But they don't seem to be faring well," Li Haoxuan turned to look over at the rest of the players who were currently massaging their head and answering the medical officers' inquiries. Then, his eyes landed on their father, who was looking at the data on the computer with a frown on his face. "Looks like dad won't be sleeping with us tonight…"

"En. It looks like it. I mean… he needs to figure out how to remove that side effect after using the equipment or else…" Li Zhihuan let out a heavy sigh. He knew that if this major problem were not fixed within these three months of testing period, the project would be dropped no matter how good it is. After all, Glory will not risk more of its player quitting the game.

Li Haoxuan gazed at his brother's worried face. He knew what Li Zhihuan was thinking about. This system is the only way Li Zhihuan can experience how it feels to actually walk, run and jump. "Don't worry. Dad is the greatest! I'm sure he can find the solution. Anyway, are you hungry? Let's go and have dinner. We'll also bring something for dad to eat later. How about it?" Li Haoxuan asked, attempting to distract Li Zhihuan from thinking about unnecessary things.

"Alright. I didn't realize that it is almost night already. The Skeleton Graveyard dungeon took that long to finish, huh?" Li Zhihuan said as he glanced at his brother. "I'm sorry. It's because I chose cleric so you have to do all the hard work…" Li Zhihuan suddenly felt guilty for choosing cleric.

"Don't mind it. The reason we took so long to finish is because of me. Tomorrow, it'll be a lot easier to complete dungeon runs. You finished your class change quest, right?" Li Haoxuan started to push his brother's wheelchair gently, navigating it towards the door.

"Finished. And I reached level 21. Doing quests are much faster… I wonder why God Ye asks us to grind the dungeons instead," Li Zhihuan wondered.

"I think I have an idea for that…"

"Oh? Do enlighten your older brother," Li Zhihuan grinned at Li Haoxuan.

"Well… It seems that your idol is planning to develop some new silver equipments," Li Haoxuan informed Li Zhihuan. "Earlier, we met with Skeleton King again and it dropped two [King's Sword shard] and one [King's Helmet]. And guess what?" Li Haoxuan leaned down and whispered to his brother's ear. "God Ye says that the helmet is a material for your silver equipment."

"Really?!" Li Zhihuan's eyes went wide. The excitement can be clearly seen within those eyes. "God Ye is really great, ah… Truly the best!"

"Comparing me and him, who is better?" Li Haoxuan asked his brother.

"Of course, God Ye!" came Li Zhihuan's immediate response which made Li Haoxuan pouts. "Ah, but… give it a few more years, I'm sure my brother can also be the best!" Li Zhihuan quickly added when he saw Li Haoxuan's expression.

"You really think so?"

"Of course! After all, you have me to look after your back! If you can't be the best, then I am not surnamed Li!"

"Watch it. If you're not surnamed Li, are you still my brother?" Li Haoxuan playfully pinched Li Zhihuan's cheek. The two then laughed as Li Haoxuan continued to push the wheelchair.
