New Life Because I Saved Her

Chapter 16 - Soar High PT. 2

The two guards in the black SUV went out and held the door for the two girls, it was like a whole VIP and there were a few stares from the classes. This made Ivy a little bit nervous and she started feeling uncomfortable with her mechanical arm and hand. However, the whole academy of Sor High was very massive maybe even bigger than the palace. There was a tower in which Ivy assumed was the HeadMaster place, then there were open hallways connecting to multiple separate buildings and arches connecting to towers. Some people were walking around the grounds but most of them seemed like guards and teachers. The color of the academy was interesting, most of it was a mix between a lightish gray and white.

Ivy was amazed by the whole academy, she wasn't even inside the building and yet she felt like she would like to be at this place. She felt a hand on her left shoulder and looked over, Ruby was lightly chuckling at her reaction to the exterior of the building.

"Told you would like this," Ruby said as she dropped her hand and started following down the path that was covered in small thin hexagon-like tiles and there tall blacks l.a.p.s that projected banners that said, "Welcome to Soar High Academy."

Ivy followed Ruby as she looked around, it was quite open, very open in fact but there were pillars connected by small arches and there was also a very small flow of water circling the path. There were also trees contained in a small circular platform in the lake.

"How do you like it so far?" Ruby's voice brought Ivy's attention back to her.

"It's nice, but why is it so open?" Ivy asked with a confused look.

"It's supposed to be inviting, not a secure facility," Ruby teased. "Besides, we are training them. If they don't have any real experience then they don't know what to face once they graduate."

Ivy sighed and continued walking down the path, Ruby shrugged and started to catch up with Ivy. They were at the Main Hall, thanks to the written sign inches from the door. The door was made out of a type of wood, it looked like oak but Celica couldn't quite tell. Ruby nudged Ivy's shoulder and opened the door, there were no students in the hall but it didn't mean that there weren't staff.

From the looks around, it was an arena/stage area. There were seats along the wall with a stage and a very open around on the ground. The stage was heightened by a few feet and the rim of it was mainly black while the floor was in light gray, the middle of the floor was in black it seemed like the middle was being circled by the light gray. There also seemed to be these doors, they were normal until the top that looked like a massive gnome hat with a circle that trapped four other circles that had a line running up until it hit the outer line.

"Is this the arena?" ivy asked.

"Yes, we use this to see how well train our students are. Take for instance Angela Sui, she is a very talented girl who grew up to be a wonderful hunter but she also had a couple of flaws with her weapon," Ruby explained. Ivy was about to raise a question but Ruby cut in. "And we monitor their Aura, or as some people like to call it a shield."

"Aura huh?" Ivy started to ponder about the capability of people. Ruby looked over and sighed at Ivy.

"Tell me you know what Aura is," Ruby's tone became serious.

"Well I know what it is, I just..." Ivy's voice started to drop and she didn't try to speak up forcing Ruby to move closer. "...my Aura isn't going to work until I get rid of my demon."

Ruby was shocked to know that Ivy's Aura was being blocked but how has she survived without a single scar on her? It would be impossible to survive being hunted and betrayed without gaining a scar.

Ivy jolted back a little, she didn't realize but she was feeling a little bit fuzzy. She wondered what was going on before she felt the demon trying to get free but it wasn't the way that it usually tries. Instead, it was negotiating.

'What do you want?' Ivy asked in her mind, she sounds seemed to be slowly deafening.

"I want to talk to Ruby, I'll only talk over your body but a few minutes beside you should be happy that you stole Omega," the demon spoke, it had the deep, growling voice that Ivy's vocals would make. "It has been preventing me from...contacting you."

'Very convincing, why should I let you?' Ivy asked but the demon didn't reply and she didn't notice that the demon already took control but what was weird was that the demon only changed the color of her eyes but nothing else changed.

"Celica? Hellooooo, Earth to Ivy," Ruby continued to try and get Ivy's attention before witnessing her pupils change color from its cute yellow cat eyes to its dark bloody eyes but what caught her off was that Ivy's body was completely normal. There wasn't any different to her skin color or remnant of the demoness.

"Ruby, sorry to keep you from Ivy but I would let to talk about Aura," Ivy's vocals were back to its usual growls and deepness, Ruby started to get suspicious about the demon and held her hand beside her hip and summoned her sword.

"And why would you want to talk about Aura, Demon?" Ruby questioned, she held onto the handle of her sword, readying herself if the demon tries to attack.

"The reason why Ivy can't create an Aura is that she hasn't unlocked it and I'm partly the problem," the demon spoke, it wasn't gonna try to attack or even defend itself. They knew that Ruby is very protective and maybe a little bit crazy for Ivy.

"Well, I have a feeling that she would have unlocked her Aura or at least her Semblance," Ruby stated. "After, she has probably been shot, stabbed, bleeding, scarred and more."

The demon sighed before closing the small gap between Ruby, making Ruby tightly gripping her sword and before the demon made another move, she immediately struck the demon only to see a black barrier blocking it.

"That's why she hasn't unlocked her Aura and her Semblance is more complex," the demon said before retreating inside Ivy's mind. Her pupils turned back to her moon color and her arms immediately blocking her right.

"What the hell is going on?" Ivy grunted as she blocked Ruby's attack, her eyes narrowed and her anger started to rise before she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. "Let's just get going with the tour."

Ivy lowered her arm and walked away without looking at Ruby, although she didn't have an idea of what happened when she was shoved back in her mind. She heard Omega shaking before finally appearing, its color was different. Instead of its gray, it was like split almost and was like a Yin Yang.

Ruby looked down before her sword disappeared, her mind was going haywire and she felt like breaking down. She just wishes she could tell Ivy the truth but she was scared, she was too scared to tell Ivy and too scared to say her feelings. 'Why do you f.u.c.k with me Ivy, you're such a drug to me.'
