New Waves

Chapter 15 - 19

Even though he had said it was very easy and barely an inconvenience, Song Jae Gu sadly had no dating experience in his thirty four years of living.

Fortunately he wasn't an awkward teen with confidence problems, and was actually filled with confidence and his actions showed it.

Driving to Moon's place, Song saw that she had actually dressed in a pink dress with red shoes and red jacket for the cold night.

Her hair was flowing unlike the usual ponytail style.

"You look absolutely stunning." Song muttered honestly, he had not expected Moon to dress up or doll herself for this simple interaction

Luckily his mother had managed to give him good style or he might have to dig a hole for ruining the day with poor style.

He had change from his school uniform into a long white shirt with blue horizontal stripes and black jeans along with red boots.

It wasn't anything grand as he had yet to go shopping with his advanced salary of $ 20, 000 per month. Honestly he wasn't a person impressed by money but he was happy that it helped him make his family happy.

Hearing his words Moon Young actually blushed as she thought Song looked really cool with those clothes and the way he stood with confidence.

"Thanks, you also look good." Moon thought he wasn't rich when they met the first time but it seems she had made the wrong call

Song smiled as he waved at her father and the other students glaring at him, "Don't worry sir, I will take care of her and bring her back safely."

Hearing him shout made her feel embarrassed as the neighbors looked at them. This was rare case of Moon wearing feminine clothes so getting all this attention made her feel awkward.

Seeing her eyes move around, Song caught her hand and opened the door for her. Once she was seated the duo drove away not too far from her place.

Just 10 km distance from Moon Young's house where they could go shop for some new equipment and eat dinner together.

It was a first time for them and both just wanted to know each other better to see if they were meant for each other.

Moon Young might not understand this point much as she was young but Song was very serious about this issue.

"I didn't think you knew how to drive."

"Well I did some jobs that required me to learn."

"Aren't you just 16 few months ago?"

"Things happened and I drove without a license. How about we talk about something normal? Like your dress, did you choose it or was it your mother?"

"Aha, I wish. My father chose it for me since my mom's competing in the US right now." Moon laughed it off and didn't elaborate that her mother had divorced and left the family for her career

Her parents had met duo to boxing and separated because of boxing. Her father was a good coach and even competed for the strongest in Asia as a boxer during his primes but he wished to stay in Korea while the mother wanted to grow and grew tired of limiting herself in Korea where the sport wasn't that famous.

She left the family to pursue her passion but Moon and father didn't hate or anything. They understood and even cheered for her when she appeared in the matches.

It had been six years since it happened and now her mother was doing MMA.

"Seriously, I guess he should take his own advice and groom himself because he looked like a hobo."

"Hey that's my dad you are talking about."

"Chill, I was just joking even though he did look like them."

"Jeez, the old man is embarrassing some times." Moon punched his arm lightly as he was driving slowly

"But you still love him and have a really bad sense of style. You know because you are always wearing a tracksuit."

"Did Dal Dal tell you that? Screw that scrawny chicken, I wear normal clothes and wear the uniform most of the time."

Song laughed at her words as she was finally relaxed, it was a new thing so even the confident Moon had some reservation so he pushed her to talk normally instead of acting what she was not.

"Hey are you making fun of me?" Moon glared at him

"No, I just thought you look better this way. No need to act what you are not. Look at me, am I any different?"

Moon noticed that her heart had calmed down from that nervousness caused by those words from the students and her father.

Men are beasts, don't let down your guard or he might do this or that. Saying such words, Moon had become very conscious of Song and about her gender.

"Nah you still look like pretty boy that belongs on magazine."

"No need to lay it on so thick, I am not so feminine to end up there. I am a macho guy." Song muttered playfully as he parked the car

"I understood nothing from that sentence."

"Take it or leave it, let's get out now before we get too lost in the conversation and miss dinner." Song said as he got out of the car

Moon had expected Song to act like a gentleman, she was a macho girl, a tomboy but even she had dreamt of a prince on a white horse and this was not in that dream.

Song was very different from other guys she had spoken with, it felt like he was always in control and saw more than what she could imagine.

He had that gaze sometime, which was like a.d.u.l.ts looking at youngsters.

He was humble, he was hard working, he was talented, he was good looking, he was caring, he was friendly and he was smart.

Moon could say that Song was Mr. Perfect that many girls wanted in those dramas she watched. Yes, she watched romantic dramas along with the expected MMA, boxing and comedy series.

'There really isn't anything to dislike about him.' Moon had been very perceptive since she had come across him and noticed these things

The problem was she was unsure if she actually liked him or not since she also liked the other good looking guys in her magazines or in those dramas even now.

'I hope I am normal.'

Getting out of the car, Moon and Song walked together hand in hand, a first for both of them. It was beyond l.e.w.d but Komi-san approved.

"It feels really nice walking outside with a beautiful girl in hand."

"Yeah, I get you."

"I hope you can change your choice of words next time because that was too guy like for a response."

"I thought you said I don't have to change anything."

"It depends on the situation and content, some things have to change or you will be stuck in backward place. Do we not change our fighting style for each foe? Our approach to different problems."

"I was kidding. Jeez man, talk about stick in the mud."

"I feel something heavy on my back so I'm gonna need you to get all the way off my back."

"Jeez bro, I was enjoying the ride but since you asked so nicely let me get off of that thing."

"Pitch meetings are so tight."

"Yeah yeah"

"Wow wow wow"

"I never thought you also watched those things. You are into comedy skits."

"Yeah, I watch all kinds of comedy shows whenever I have time."

"Simpsons"

"Yeah, South Park"

"I am out of bullets."

"Guess you don't watch much shows if that was all of it."

"Well, I actually don't watch much TV at all but some time I sit down with my siblings when I have the chance."

"Really, what do you then? Hang out at bars, girls, gangs?"

"You shouldn't watch too much TV, it's too poisonous. I was busy with training and studying." Song said as they stood out as a couple in this night and he avoided mentioning work as he didn't want to talk about it
