NEW YEAR AND AN APOCALYPSE

Now aware of their true intentions,

I couldn't help but feel such fear,

Fear for myself and for many others,

Fear that I now know things so clear,

And

Fear that if taken longer, I may not be able to bear.

The world is tainted in deception,

The world is lying to each perception,

Those who looks kind may be screaming murder,

And those who believed won't live no further.

My mind and focus, slipping slowly,

As I saw their mouths, visibly hungry,

They were devils, waiting surely,

To devour our souls, they wait patiently.

But I won't let that happen,

Although I'm just a mere human,

I know that I can save my friends,

No matter the dark circumstances.

I don't know yet how to do it,

But eventually I'll expose them,

For now I must guard my friends with no slip,

For they may attack, just not certain when.

To their eyes, they were still lambs; angels,

But to me they were ruthless...lying devils,

They ask each of us to make a wish everyday,

And I felt very pissed, that none thought differently, not one believer swayed.

Mar, I knew how much she wanted a voice,

So one day she asked, hoping to get it back,

I don't want to be selfish, to stop her from her wish,

So she got what she wished, she got...what she long so lack.

For every wish, is there a thing to be taken?

I don't know yet...but I hope I won't be forsaken,

As I know, that they were, powerful and cunning,

That if not for the boy on the roof,

Doom to us, I won't know would be coming...

I tried slowly, to persuade Mar,

Because I know she's open-minded,

And won't bail me so far...

At first I saw hesitation,

As surely she owe them her voice,

But as I whispered throughly my explanation,

She began to see the wiser choice.

I have never said something, that would hurt her,

So she trusted me, and I felt relieved, but this wasn't all over,

For she's just one...out of many survivors,

That needs to wake up, that needs to see...

their true colors...

Think, think, think, what should I do to make them believe me?

Without blowing my cover, without making a mistake,

What should I do? That wouldn't cost too much stake?

I ponder and ponder, still eating bits of the food they offer me,

For if I stop, they'll grow suspicious, and we'll be caught, yes, definitely,

So when the angels...er devils slept,

I have Mar help me to explain the confidentiality,

But as to be expected, they loved the lavish lifestyle,

"Just what are you thinking?

Aren't you contented?" One said.

"No, but...I'm telling you,

they sure wants us dead,"

Many protested,

threw away what I suggested,

But some did took my words,

And believed me,

as I wanted.

Only 9 of us remains unhindered,

While the others, mostly old and young,

Chose to stay and fatten themselves,

Chose to sleep beside the devils they're among.

I felt a chill crawl on my spine,

Realizing that their choice wasn't all fine,

They were willingly giving, their souls for comfort,

But the time is ticking, and we need to go forth.

"Never mind the unwilling, that is what I learned,

Let them believe that they're safe, from this hell-stricken earth,

It's their loss that they chose,

comfort over safety,

Let them sleep for now,

And they'll know what I mean, eventually,"

My impatience and hatred, took over me,

As they sleep and ignore, what I said,

And so we left their sleeping bodies,

One day, the devils, will feed on your heads.

If I stay another night,

I may never have a chance like this one,

So although I know what will soon become of them,

I chose to save, what I could,

Not wanting everything, to simply be done.

I knew one day, teeth will be dug deep into their flesh,

I knew one day, they will scream and call for our help,

I knew one day, they'll regret not believing what I just said,

I knew this day, they're all just waiting for their certain deaths...

But I kept it together, and with me I carried out the last believers,

Those who knew better,

Those whose lavishness isn't what they're after..

Those who surely...don't want to suffer.
