Chapter 18: Rolled His Eyes And Fainted

Gu Miaoting wanted to hold Lian Zhenzhen but she was so injured that she couldn’t stand up.

“Chuyan, hurry up and apologize to uncle-in-law,” Gu Chuyan said gently as she walked towards them. She looked apologetically at Xiao Mohan. Then her gaze landed on his wrist.

She saw his diamond watch. She had seen it in a fashion magazine before. This watch cost a hundred million and it was limited edition to boot. His clothes were also all tailor-made and they were expensive too.

“Mister, my little sister is still young; please forgive her. She brought her boyfriend back yesterday. Sigh, she got discovered by my uncle-in-law accidentally and he told her off. I didn’t expect my uncle-in-law to get injured today either; it’s still under investigation. I hope her boyfriend wasn’t responsible.”

Xiao Mohan stood up and wiped his hand. He walked towards Gu Miaoting slowly and looked down at her. His gaze was icy and it stabbed her heart like an icy sword.

“Miss Gu.” Xiao Mohan’s pleasant voice was heard.

Gu Miaoting shivered and her entire body was trembling. She tried her best to calm down. The corners of her lips lifted to create the most beautiful smile she could.

“Let me introduce them to you—this is my uncle-in-law. He’s a powerful figure.” She wanted to use Gu Yan to raise her status.

Xiao Mohan’s long legs moved forward handsomely. He glanced at Gu Yan coldly.

“Mr. Gu, things will move in the other direction once they’ve reached the extreme. You should understand this,” Xiao Mohan said with a low voice. His gaze landed on the leg that was dangling.

Gu Chuyan struggled to sit up. He noticed that Xiao Mohan was so elegant so he must come from a powerful background. He was puzzled. Where did Gu Chuyan find this backer?

“Mister, may I know who you are?”

“You don’t have to know,” Xiao Mohan answered.

Gu Yan was worried Gu Chuyan caused trouble so he continued hurriedly, “My daughter has been quite an unsettled person since she was young. She’s immature too. If she offended you in any way, please forgive her.”

Unsettled since she was young? These words slammed into Gu Chuyan’s heart heavily.

“Unsettled since she was young?” Xiao Mohan turned to look at Gu Chuyan. Her face had turned red with anger.

Xiao Mohan slowly walked towards Gu Miaoting. He leaned over slightly. Gu Miaoting blushed. She bit her red lips and pretended to act shy.

“Gu Chuyan is my woman now. So, her matters have nothing to do with Mr. Gu.” Xiao Mohan’s voice wasn’t loud, but it was obvious.

“Your woman?” Gu Yan was dumbfounded.

“My woman will have nothing to do with you in the future,” Xiao Mohan said.

Gu Miaoting looked at them in disbelief. She didn’t believe them. Just as she started thinking about it, Han Changqing walked over and she shrank in shock.

“Ah!” She fell on the ground heavily from fright.

Lian Zhenzhen was already hurt from the broken pieces of the bowl. When Gu Miaoting fell on her, the broken shards pierced right into her skin. Lian Zhenzhen was in so much pain that her eyes rolled and she fainted.

Han Changqing turned around and opened the window to allow some cold wind to enter.

For some reason, the heater in the ward stopped working temporarily. The air conditioner broke down suddenly too and Gu Yan started shivering in the cold.

“Leave.” The attendant walked in and cleared everything.

Xiao Mohan asked Gu Chuyan, “Do you have anything to say?”

Gu Chuyan shook her head. She didn’t want to say a single word. She didn’t want to stay a second longer there. She was dumbstruck by “unsettled since she was young”.

“Let’s go.” Xiao Mohan took his coat from Han Changqing and placed it around her shoulders. He picked her up and left the room.

Han Changqing followed behind them. When he reached the door, he turned and said, “Mr. Gu, sorry for our interruption today.”

He emphasized the words “Mr. Gu”.

Gu Yan was an experienced man. He stared at Han Changqing and saw the slyness in his eyes. This wasn’t a naive and kind person.

“Mom, mom, what’s wrong with you?” Gu Miaoting suddenly got a shock. She hadn’t realized that Lian Zhenzhen had fainted.

She stood up and saw a puddle of blood flowing on the floor.

“Somebody help! Help!” she shouted hurriedly. Unfortunately, no one came in.

Gu Yan became impatient. His heart ached when he saw Lian Zhenzhen lying on the ground with blood flowing out of her wounds.

“Hurry up and call the doctor,” he said. He pressed the help button but no doctor came.

“I’ll go and call the doctor.” Gu Miaoting was extremely worried. She stood up and walked out.

Suddenly, something flew in from the window and hit her ankle. Gu Miaoting was wearing 12 cm heels so she fell sideways.

“Ah!” She fell and twisted her ankle.

“Miaoting.” Gu Yan wanted to get out of bed but his leg was hanging so he couldn’t move.

Gu Miaoting tried to move. Her ankle was hurting but she needed to get up.

Even if she didn’t want to save Lian Zhenzhen, she still needed to ask the doctor to take a look at her. She mustn’t become crippled. She climbed to the door as she thought this and pulled on the door forcefully.

Unfortunately, the door wouldn’t open. Someone seemed to have locked it from the outside.

“The door is locked,” Gu Miaoting said.

Gu Yan became impatient as he lay in bed. However, he kept his composure and stared at the door with an eerie gaze. He was in deep thought.

At this moment, he heard someone walking towards them.

“Bang.” The people pushed the door violently but the door didn’t open. They had to knock the door open.

Gu Miaoting didn’t have time to move so when the door slammed open, she was thrust backward and the back of her head struck the wall. She rolled her eyes in pain but she didn’t faint.

“Mr. Gu, did you press the bell just now? The hospital’s system broke down a moment ago so we couldn’t rush here in time. Please forgive us,” the attending physician apologized.

What a coincidence. Gu Yan was puzzled.

The room was so cold that everyone was shivering. The air conditioner was blowing cold air.

“I want to change wards,” Gu Yan said.

The doctor shook his head. “The wards are all suddenly occupied!”
