“How are you supposed to inspect her?” Xiao Mohan’s tone was sinister and cold.
The doctor shivered. He touched his nose and picked up the medical records on the table. “I…”
Gu Chuyan got a fright. She stared at the doctor with her big eyes and asked softly, “Doctor, I’m fine. Let’s stop here.”
Anger could be seen in Xiao Mohan’s perfect features. He squinted.
“Her forehead is injured,” Xiao Mohan emphasized. He didn’t understand what was wrong with this doctor. He asked for an external injury check-up.
If Wen Shui wasn’t around, he wouldn’t have taken her to this kind of place.
The doctor felt helpless. He threw the medical records to the side.
“Mister, I’m a doctor, not a pervert. An inspection is very normal.” The doctor was speechless. He placed his hands in his pockets and continued, “I need to see if she has an infection. If she does, I’d recommend for her to stay at the hospital.”
“I’m myopic and I don’t have laser eyesight. How am I supposed to inspect her?” The doctor rolled his eyes. He had a headache.
He could’ve ended his shift after he finished inspecting this patient.
But he encountered a troublesome one who even beat him up. What was this?
“I already told you that her injury is on her forehead.” Xiao Mohan suppressed his anger forcefully.
If he wasn’t worried that her wound would get inflamed or there might be other complications, he would’ve carried her away a long time ago. Why would he allow this old man to continue his nonsense?
“Doctor, this is my injury.” Gu Chuyan lifted her hand and pointed to her head. She pulled Xiao Mohan and signaled at him to not get angry.
Xiao Mohan felt something tightening around his waist. He lowered his head and saw her hugging him. She glued her face to the side of his waist. She looked very nervous.
“That isn’t my name.” She glanced at the medical records. Those weren’t her records. They belonged to another lady with gynecological issues. No wonder the doctor was so furious.
Xiao Mohan carried her out of the room and went to the president’s office. He invited the best doctor over to conduct an examination. Then he carried her out of the hospital.
“Are you angry?” Gu Chuyan asked.
The man’s face was black and his brows furrowed violently. She lifted a finger and poked his face.
Xiao Mohan was stunned for a moment when she poked him.
“Xiao Mohan.” She lay in his arms and called his name gently.
“Hmm?”
“I’m a little hungry. Can we go and eat?”
Xiao Mohan’s mood improved slightly when he heard her talking to him voluntarily. He asked, “What do you want to eat?”
“I want to have some cold noodles. The cold noodles at Ah Po’s House are delicious,” she replied.
Xiao Mohan became somewhat turned on by her movements. He hugged her tighter. Suddenly, his heart started palpitating furiously and he staggered.
“What’s wrong? Are you sick?” Gu Chuyan looked up and touched his forehead. “You’re so hot.”
She compared the temperature of his forehead to hers and noticed that he was burning. He seemed to be having a fever.
“I’m fine,” he replied. However, his voice had turned low and hoarse and his gaze was extremely serious.
Gu Chuyan fiddled with her fingers and looked in front. “Put me down; I can walk. Do you know that the cold noodles there are really delicious? I eat two bowls whenever I go to that restaurant. Haha, it’s unfortunate that I didn’t bring my purse.”
He looked down at her little face. She was looking ahead as though something attracted her eye.
So many things happened but her state of mind was still good. She could feel sorrow but she knew how to emotionally adjust and not dwell on the bad things. Xiao Mohan started to look at her differently.
“Hurry up and put me down,” she said softly.
“Are you sure you can walk?” Xiao Mohan accepted her request. She pulled his big hand along and jogged forward. Her leg was hurting but the enticement of delicious food was strong.
“Yes.” She nodded.
Xiao Mohan looked at her small hand clutching his wrist. He didn’t pull his hand away.
Gu Chuyan pulled him and ran towards the small alley.
“Huh? What do I do? This alley is blocked.”
“We can take another path.”
“This is the only way,” she said with frustration. Suddenly, she grabbed his shoulder and tilted his body. The path was blocked but there was still a small gap. They walked sideways through the gap and soon reached the end.
The two of them were walking sideways. Their backs were to the wall and they were facing each other.
“I…” She raised her head and met his gaze.
The path was very narrow. When the two of them walked together, it was a little cramped.
Gu Chuyan felt nervous. When she raised her head, he lowered his head. His scorching breath landed on her face. She moved her small fingers and raised her hand…
“I’ll walk first.” She blushed and purposely ignored her earlier movements.
She regretted bringing him here. They were facing each other and she could hear his heartbeat faintly.
Xiao Mohan shifted her body with his hands.
He lowered his head. Their noses were touching each other and their lips were inches away.
Gu Chuyan’s heart pounded furiously. She saw Xiao Mohan looking at her with interest. Under the streetlights, his sharp features were so perfect and handsome. There was a faint but mesmerizing smile on his lips and he was exuding a charismatic and enchanting aura.
