Nightmares And Dreams

Chapter 4 - 3: Wonderful Day

Today is Saturday!

Viviene and Luca woke up with drool all over their bed as the maid opens up their bedroom curtains.

"Young Master, Young Miss, Breakfast is ready downstairs." She gently said.

Viviene stretches her arms out and yawns as she was, and most likely, half-asleep. She rolled out of bed and tried to fix it.

"Oh Young Miss, you do not need to do that." The maid says quickly.

"It's not a problem." Viviene says to her with assurance.

Once Viviene was finished with her bed, she looks at Luca. Luca was immediately startled by her sister's look or, I suppose, glare.

"What are you doing Luca?" Viviene asks Luca.

"I'm going down now." He hurriedly says as he tiptoes across the room.

Their maid giggled. *I suppose they are still the Young Miss and Young Master.* she thought.

Once the twins were out, their maid went out as well and closed the big antique door. They walked along the gorgeous long furry carpets as they went down to eat.

At the living room, there they saw their father reading newspapers with a cup of half-finished coffee on the coffee table.

Their father looked at them.

"Good morning, kiddos." Their father greeted them.

"G-Good morning?" Luca replied, very confused.

Their father almost never greet them during the morning, it was very new to the twins.

They continued to walked along the halls and into the big doorway where the dining room was located.

The doors opened and inside, a long brown wooden table was filled with lavishing and mouth-watering foods. The huge windows at the sides were stunning, and even the sun shining through made the food even more delicious!

"Young Miss and Young Master, why don't you go and brush your teeth first?" Their maid reminded them.

"Okay." Luca replied.

The twins walked along the chairs and to a door wherein the twins are allowed to brush their teeth.

"Berkfsh ish amefing! (Breakfast is amazing!)" Luca shouts while brushing his teeth.

"Yih (Yeah)" Viviene agreed.

After brushing their teeth, both went out of the "brushing room". They ran to their assigned seats (They were assigned to different seats by age.) and followed "rich" etiquette such as using a utensils instead of hands, saying please and more.

Their father walked into the room and sat at his own chair. The twins showed more manners.

"How's school, young ones?" He asked them.

The twins were both surprised, they have never seen nor heard their father talking about anything about themselves.

"I-It's fine." Luca replies.

"No enemies?" Their father asked again.

"No, there's no enemies, father." Viviene responded with a proper attitude.

"You two, starting from tomorrow, I want you to report to my office about everything happening on Paradisiacal Angel's Smile High. Are we clear?"

"But fath--!" Viviene reasons as she stands up, but before she could finish her sentence, her father interrupted her immediately.

"Viviene, show your manners please. As the heiress of the Polar Company, the biggest company in the entire world, I expect you to be more mannered. You are to report everything starting from tomorrow, do you understand?" Her father said with a stern voice.

Viviene sat down.

"Excuse my disrespectfulness, father." She says with a low voice.

As the family eats their food, there was this awkward atmosphere circulating in the room.

After eating, the twins bid goodbye to their father and went to their rooms.

"Vivi, you should've just listened to father." Luca spoke first.

"But he's being unreasonable. Making us report everything to him. Where is our freedom?" Viviene explains with frustration.

"Speaking of freedom, shall we go outside today? Today's weather is great!" Luca anticipates.

"Well, I suppose we can go somewhere today." Viviene replied, calming down.

"But where though?" Viviene adds.

"Somewhere far away." Luca replies.

The twins both agreed. A maid walks up to them as they were discussing their "outing".

"Young Miss, Young Master. Shall I help you with this outing?" The maid says.

"Sure." Luca says happily.

Both of the twins and the maid entered their bedroom.

A few hours later, the twins were ready to go out. Viviene was wearing a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans, a flowy crop top, a pair of sunglasses and doll shoes while Luca was wearing a pair of jeans and a tucked shirt with an overlapped polo shirt.

*Oh, what a beautiful day!* Viviene thought.

Both went out as they were ready. While walking along their garden filled with lovely flowers and trees, they spotted Rebecca walking with a basket filled with all kinds of different flowers.

"Oh my, Vivi, Luca!" Rebecca smiled at them as she waves her hands to the twins.

The twins ran to Rebecca and was intrigued by the basket filled with flowers.

"Such beautiful flowers." Viviene says with shining eyes as she looks at the flowers.

Rebecca and Luca giggled.

"I was just about to go to a nearby shop to pick up a few baskets to put more flowers in. Do you guys wanna to come?" Rebecca initiates.

"Sure." Viviene replies.

"Yeah, why not?" Luca added.

"Then, let's go!" Rebecca cheered happily.

As they skip along the sidewalks, the trio crossed multiple streets. After a long walk, they were able to get to a flower shop who sells baskets, flowers and vases.

*How wonderful and antique-looking.* Viviene thought.

Rebecca pushes the main door as the bell hanging from the top of the door rings. Inside, there were lots of flowers and plants which amuses the twins as they have not seen so many flowers yet.

"My, my, if it isn't Becca?" An old woman greets.

Rebecca giggled as she walks up to the counter.

"Madam, I would like to buy three baskets, please." Rebecca requested.

"Oh, the young lady has friends to join you for flower picking?" The old lady asks.

"Yes. We are going to pick flowers from an abandoned garden which still blooms healthy flowers." Rebecca replies cheerfully.

The old lady walked aside and grabs three baskets from the shelves with vases, pots and other ceramics. She brought it to the counter and gives it to Rebecca.

"Here you go." The old lady said as she was gives the baskets.

"Thank you very much. Here's the pay." Rebecca says as the old lady receives the money.

"Thank you, young lady." She replies to Rebecca.

Rebecca waved goodbye to the old woman as the trio leaves the shop. Then, soon after, the trio walked a bit more to reached the abandoned garden. The twins were even more surprised. The garden was indeed abandoned, but it was a home to various kinds of flowers and plants.

"These plants are in good condition in spite of being abandoned." Luca remarks.

"Yeah, I was taking care of these plants since the last owner left. No one wanted to move here, so I walked here almost everyday to take care of the plants." Rebecca says as she hands the baskets to Luca and Viviene.

"Let's pick some flowers now." Rebecca added.

The twin helped Rebecca pick flowers. The twins had fun picking various colors of roses and peonies. Some bushes also produce edible and sweet fruits. As time passes by, the trio's baskets were beginning to be filled with flowers and some fruits. The twins grew tired so they sat down under a tree to rest of a bit, later, Rebecca sat down too. The wind breeze was cool and calming enough for the trio to relax.

"Ahh, what a wonderful day." Viviene said calmly.

"Yeah." Rebecca replies.

"Thank you as well for helping me pick flowers. You can have some if you like." Rebecca added.

The wind blows harder. Viviene looks up to the sky.

"Why were you so eager to take care for these plants when you don't even own these?" Viviene asks Rebecca.

Rebecca was a bit surprised by Viviene's question. She looks at her then up to the sky as she leaned on the tree trunk.

"Well..." Rebecca starts.

"It was almost five years since the last owner of this house left. I remember having to see the previous owners before the last owner abandon the plants as if they didn't even exist in the first place. When the last owner came here, he was very disappointed at the surroundings. The plants were dead, the flowers dried up, the trees were lying on the ground, and dried leaves are everywhere. My father was friends with the previous owner, so we were very acquainted with them. When I was little, the last owner would teach me how to plant new flowers and how to patiently take care of them. I was here for a few months every morning or noon looking at the plants he would patiently take care. About a few months after spring, this garden bloomed with many flowers. It was so beautiful and alive. Truly amazing. But then, the last owner needed to leave, and before he left, he said, 'Dear Rebecca, please take care of this garden. This holds so many memories and products of my hard work. I'm sorry we have to leave dear.' I was sad but also honored because he was entrusting the garden to me. So this garden feels special. Actually, it is very special." Rebecca told them, with tears almost coming out of her eyes.

"But why did the last owner left?" Luca asked.

"I don't know, and I never dared to ask." Rebecca replies.

"Oh, the sun is almost setting." Says Viviene.

"Yeah, this place is also special as it has the best view of the sunset." Rebecca replies.

The sun sets. It was stunning. It almost made Viviene cry.

"Truly amazing." Luca speaks with shining eyes.

Rebecca stood up and said, "It's getting too late now. Let us head home."

The twins nodded and followed Rebecca back to their house. Then, the twins gave their baskets to Rebecca.

"Thanks a lot." Rebecca says with a smile.

"Yeah. No problem!" The two replied happily as they waved goodbye to Rebecca and goes inside.

After eating dinner, both bathes and cleans themselves then fell fast asleep. It was truly a wonderful day!
