Nightmares And Dreams

In a deeper part of the forest stood Luca and Rebecca, finding their lost comrades. They were parted during the encounter with the rogues as after the smoke screen disappeared, Viviene and Clyde also disappeared.

"Vivi! Clyde! Where are you?" Rebecca shouted in desperate. Luca, being Rebecca's companion, was starting to get worried. With this reason, he called out Sophie to help Rebecca which Sophie will only agree to if Knight will also transform into his human form. "Why though?" Luca asks with a hint of confusion. ^That's because, we human-form spirits can't go near unhuman-formed spirits.^ Sophie replies. For this reason, Luca tapped Rebecca's shoulder. "What, Luca?" She was irritated, maybe because she lost sight of Viviene and can't find her. "Can I talk to Knight for a bit...?" Luca shyly requests. Rebecca let out a groan and then commanded Knight to come out.

^I heard you wanted to talk to me, Luca?^ Knight asked, walking closer towards Luca and Sophie. "Oh yeah, I needed you to come out so Sophie could talk to Rebecca." replied Luca.

Knight eyed Sophie. ^Oh, hello Sophie, didn't see you there.^

^Oh, same here.^ Their sharp gazes towards each other made an intimidating atmosphere for Luca, making him push Sophie towards Rebecca. "Sophie, why don't you talk to Rebecca for a bit?" he said letting out a nervous laughter after. ^Protect Rivqah, Sophie.^ Knight says with, still, a sharp gaze. ^I will, I am not that weak.^ she blurted out as she walks beside Rebecca.

^Rebecca, what's with the face?^ Sophie cheerfully asks.

"Oh, Sophie. Luca must've been worried."

^He is, so what's up?^

"It's nothing." Rebecca replies looking away.

^Your face doesn't show it at all, so tell me about it.^ encouraged Sophie, being cautious of the black mist surrounding Rebecca's feet. Rebecca gazed in the distance. It's as if she had seen something. "Viviene. I lost her." she finally replied. The black mist surrounds her even more.

*This is bad. The mist is taking her even more.* Sophie thought. She encouraged Rebecca that they will definitely find Viviene, but none worked, Rebecca was slowly getting consumed by disappointment. Tears rolled out of Rebecca's cheek.

"I promised my dad and uncle to protect her, and now, I can't!" Rebecca cried louder as she felt discouraged because of her actions, "I don't know what to do anymore." Luca and Knight were startled by her cry. Knight particularly noticed the black mist surrounding Rebecca's lower body.

^Rebecca, please calm down!^ Sophie shouted in panic, hugging her back. ^Sophie, please stop. You're making it worse!^ Knight shouted, separating them from each other. ^No! She needs our help.^ Sophie reasoned. ^Sophie, stop!^ Knight shouts, shoving Sophie to the ground. "Sophie!" Luca rushes to Sophie to help her up.

Knight looked at Rebecca. It was too late. She was already consumed by the mist. She stared at nothing. Knight c.a.r.e.s.sed Rebecca's cheeks using both of his hands, ^Rebecca, we'll get Vivi back^ he calmly says. "R-Really..?" said Rebecca as she looks upon Knight's eyes. ^Yes, really.^ with eyes full of awe . Knight noticed that the black mist subsided a bit so he continued what he was doing. It was working, the mist is subsiding!

But just as Knight was about to succeed, the mist began eating Rebecca again. ^Wait, what's happening? Why is the mist eating you again?^

Rebecca pushed Knight gently. She looked at him with keen eyes. ^R-Rivqah, what's happening to you?^

"Who... are you?" she said. She had this monotone voice that pierced the feelings of Knight. Knight talked to Rebecca, ^Rivqah... what are you-^ but before he could finish his sentence, the mist totally consumed Rebecca. "S-She disappeared" Luca gasped. He stood transfixed.

Sophie grabbed Knight's sleeve, ^Knight, what does this mean?^ she says. Knight pulled his arm away. Sophie walked in front of Knight. She couldn't even see her face because of his long hair. ^Sophie, please leave me alone.^

^B-But-^

^Leave me alone!^ Sophie bowed her head. She felt guilty that she wasn't able to do anything. She turned back to her spirit form. ^You too, Luca.^ Knight says in a quiet tone. "Sure" Luca leaves Knight.

No one was around. Knight reflected back on his actions. *Why did she get consumed?* he thought. Thousands of questions filled his head, but not one of them can he answer.

Luca, on the other hand, kept an eye on Knight. With his curious personality, he asked Sophie who is Knight to her because earlier, they seemed to have bad blood, but Sophie refused to answer. ^It's something you might not know^ in a sad tone she says. "Eh?! Why not?" Luca w.h.i.n.ed, but Sophie refused to answer. After a long silence, Sophie answered, ^Because right now, he thinks of me as a traitor.^
