Nikita

Chapter 78 - wait for updates

Nikita was freaking out because he had never seen such a state in the hospital.  He had never expected this and much less the fact that his paRents were working on a virus that would make people feel better.  With the hospital knockdown protocols in place, he was scared of the possibility that one of the people there was already infected.

Could he really be in an infected area? What would that even mean for him?  And Natalya, what did she mean by whatever she was talking about with her daughter?

From what he could think of at the moment, his family was murdered and no one was even looking into it. Someone had snatched the only people he ever cared about and the world was calmed if they were just any other family, but they weRen't. They were everything he had loved and believed in.

He wondered what would have happened if their family had chosen a diffeRent profession, what would have happened if they chose a diffeRent path altogether. Would they be apart at the moment? Would their family be gone all in a blur and just like that or would there be an explanation for everything that happened to them?

Nikita wanted to feel something, anything, but all that he felt at the moment was terrible and confused and all messed up and shit. He was a messy muddy puddle, one that no one would ever step into willingly. Maybe that is what his life had become today. Maybe this time, there would be nothing to look forward to.

What if there was actually a virus in the hospital? What if maggie's suspicions were right? What if there was a reason all of this happened? What it, what if, and fuċkɨnġ what-ifs. There were too many speculations at the moment and it didn't help that there was a possibility that his family and fuċkɨnġ maid were the reason for it all.

Would he ever get the answers he needed? Would he ever find a solution to the nightmares he had? Why did he have to be the one on the receiving end of everything? He missed his family. He misses his mother's beautiful smiles. He missed his father's concerns about football and the premier league wins.

He missed Yuri's wines about the new year and the festive season. He missed Ren's wines about people crowding the malls during the festive season. He missed Belle's noises and piggyback rides. He missed his family and the worst part of it all was that they were gone. He was never going to see them again, not even their bodies because their plane had crashed right in the middle of the deep sea, somewhere no one would ever be able to find them, at least not before the sharks fed on their bodies.

He was technically alone. He would always be alone. He was always going to be alone and if what happened with Natalya were true, then he had no choice but to leave this darned place. He was going to leave and nothing was going to stop him, but first, he had to ensure there was no virus that was about to claim the city's biggest hospital. That would bring the economy down.

****

With his shouts of locking down the hospital, there was a commotion as expected. No one was ever going to be ready to be trapped in a hospital that was possibly infected with the worst virus anyone could ever figure out.  People were trying to rush out, but no one would get past the hospital gates. No one.

That was the only way to ensure everyone in the hospital was safe.

Nikita rushed down to the morgue to check if the corpse he had requested was contained but when he got there, he got the shock of his life. The corpse was there alright, but it was missing the trachea pipes and the left lung. If this was a horror movie, then it would win an Oscars because despite being in pink and shit, Nikita Pavlenko was scared out of his wits.

He had never expected to see such things in real life and more so in the hospital that he and his family had worked in all their life. It was weird seeing this here. It was like he was living in a horror movie and there was no way out for him. This shit was happening for real.

Even with his shock, Nikita was determined to find out how this happened. He demanded the CCTV footage be brought to him but when they were a few minutes away from getting him what he wanted, he hacked into the security system. There he could see the supposed pathologist that Maggie was talking about.

The pathologist looked awfully familiar. The hair was long and thick, the kind that he would never be able to forget, considering the kind of sėx he had gotten from the supposed pathologist. But how could this even be possible? What was the meaning of all this?

Who was this woman? What was her relationship with Natalya? Were they really mother and daughter or they were partners in crime? What was happening in his own house and since when did the meek maid turn out to be an evil ghost? How? Just how in the fuċk was that going to be possible?

There was something wrong with everything, especially this woman and her sudden introduction into his life. The woman he had slept with was right here in the hospital. She was having someone's trachea and left lug. Why would she even need that and where did she even learn how to do that? Was she really a pathologist? What was true and what was false?

From the footage he was watching, the woman was still in the hospital when he demanded the lockdown protocols be initiated. She looked surprised and in shock with the protocol like she wasn't expecting it at all. This only meant that the parts she had rushed to remove were critical and would possibly point them in the direction of the source.

She was willing to risk her life for just a trachea. It was pathetic for anyone who was watching, but for Nikita, this was evidence. At least now, he knew what he was expecting from the victims if the virus was really about to spread in his workplace.

He went through the footage over and again, trying to figure out her every move and thirty minutes later, he was blank. He didn't know what to do.. He couldn't figure out where she went or how she managed to escape the pathology room. She was definitely a professional in whatever she did
