No Choice: You Were Always Mine

Chapter 12 - True Feelings

Samaiya rushed to her car in the parking lot, she needed to escape. She sent a message to her sister, informing her that she was going back to her own apartment and that she could get her own ride home. She did not have the patience to face her sister, for now she wanted to be alone.

Samaiya reached her apartment, fumbling for her keys to open the door. "Click," as soon as the door opened she closed the door and beelined to her bedroom. She cried for a good amount of time before she went to the kitchen to get a packet of ch.i.p.s, soda, and ice-cream for desert. Today she was going to spend her day watching her favourite K-dramas.

Engrossed in her drama and drowning herself in her sadness, she didn't hear her house's door opening.

The person found it incredibly weird that Samaiya would be careless enough to leave her door unlocked. 'What if something happened to her!' The person thought allowing her imagination to run wild.

She opened the carefully armed with her purse, which was extremely heavy and could do incredible amount of damage for the person who is unlucky enough to get hit by it.

Stealthily entering the apartment, careful not to alert the bad guys that probably captured her true love. Sadly, that person saw an even more shocking sight.

"Samaiya! I thought someone came to rob, kidnap or many other bad things to you!" That person screamed, frightening Samaiya who had reached the climax of her show.

"Babe you're back! Do you really need to be that dramatic? Can't you be normal." Samaiya said with a huge smile, forgetting about the incidents that occurred a few hours ago.

"If I was normal would I be your best-friend and stood you for so many long years." Kaira said, with fake tears as she gave a solid blow.

"Your words are sharp as always, I missed you K. So much happened."

"I can see that. Now tell me why you are so depressed, did a guy do something again." Kaira said, hitting the nail on the head.

"You know me too well. Don't kill me in whatever state of excitement and shock you will be once I tell you." Samaiya said, laughing at her friend's accurate guess.

"I Promise, plus I would leave you breathing so you could complete your whole story, after that no promises." Kaira rolled her eyes at her friends attempt at staying alive. 'She must have hidden something huge from me, this girl she is dead once she spills.' Kaira thought, secretly devising plans of revenge.

"Well… My parents decided to get me married so they arranged people that I could meet. There were only four options, three of the options were horrible. The last one was…" Samaiya stopped what she was saying as she needed to breath. She could see her friend recovering from the shock of her revelations. Not allowing Kaira to recover Samaiya continued.

"Ishaan, he wants to marry me, and I messed up. The bad memories keep popping up." Samaiya said, with tears in her eyes.

Kaira understood the bad memories that she was talking about. They had known each other since middle school and went to the same high school.

"Tell me everything that happened, no skimming over details." Kaira said in a commanding voice. She was extremely worried for her friend who had finally learned to smile.

Samaiya recollected everything from the beginning, without skipping anything. She felt extremely embarrassed, but she also told about the kisses and why she was sad. Samaiya couldn't hide anything from Kaira, seeing Kaira listening without judgement, Samaiya expressed her conflicting thoughts.

"I honestly don't mind marrying Ishaan, I don't really like him, but I believe we could have a good relationship. He isn't dumb and is pretty good looking." Samaiya blushed, realising what she had just said. Seeing that Kaira was waiting for her to complete her rant, she continued.

"But he is bad. He did that to me publicly and I remember what I went through in high school then I remember what happened in college. It becomes a domino effect which reaches the depths of my despair." Samaiya ended her rant, with a sad look in her eyes.

Kaira stayed quite for a minute before speaking up.

"My turn, now listen to me carefully and only speak when I ask you to. Ok?"

"OK." Samaiya was nervous of what Kaira would tell her.

"You are being stupid. What happened to you in school and college were horrible and I wished you would tell more people to relieve yourself of the burden. The only reason I know what happened was because I found out by accident. Ishaan is not the reason for those stuff to happening to you. Do not use him as an excuse to run away from your feelings. It's not fair for him or yourself." Kaira said, keeping her multiple ways of teasing Samaiya aside. For now, she needed to fix her dumb friend's brain.

"But," Samaiya attempted to protest but was quickly shut down by Kaira.

"No 'buts'. You like Ishaan this I'm sure of, now before you go defensive. Would you these many conflicting emotions for anyone?"

"No." Samaiya said with a straight face, understanding where Kaira was going with her lecture.

"You are the coldest person I have ever met. The only reason why no one knows this is because you pretend to be very warm. But I can't entirely blame you, it's the people around you that don't understand your smile is meant for distance and not warmth."

"Hey, I don't pretend, it's just a natural mechanism for me." Samaiya said, a little annoyed at her friends understanding of her.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. But before I broke down your wall towards me I saw the difference in how you treated your sister and how you treated your classmates. I'm proud to say that you accepted me, it was hard work, but I like a good challenge." Kaira said, lightening the mood.

"Like your boyfriend and I let you in. Not the other way around."

"Excuse me, Ex-boyfriend." Kaira said, with a sad smile on her face when she remembered the dumb person who was just mentioned.

"Yeah right, I'm pretty sure he is waiting for you with his tail behind his legs." Samaiya announced, proud that she could tease her friend who was too serious for her age.

Kaira looked at Samaiya for a long time, Samaiya did the same before both friends were rolling on the floor laughing at the image that popped in their head and the truth of Samaiya's words.

"We are going way off topic." Kaira said, still chuckling a little.

"Ok, ask me the question and I will answer honestly." Samaiya said in a serious tone.

"Do you like Ishaan." Kaira asked.

"Yes, I do."
