No Choice: You Were Always Mine

Chapter 19 - The Proposal

Samaiya concentrated on her food, ignoring the intense look Ishaan was giving her, she did not want to interact with Ishaan because her sister was also present in the room.

Ishaan was lost in his thoughts, he wanted to talk to Samaiya, but she seemed to be ignoring him. This frustrated Ishaan, he wanted Samaiya to look at him, talk to him, think only about him, he was becoming greedy.

Akshara felt the tense atmosphere, this was disturbing her 'me time', she wanted to eat without feeling suffocated by the air around her.

"Hey guys, please just talk to each other. You're making the people around you extremely comfortable. When has either of you been 'shy'. My eyes hurt." Akshara spoke, her attention shifting.

As soon as Akshara finished speaking, her food had magically landed on her clothes.

"Aah! My shirt. Did it drop on the sofa?... No, it didn't, thank god or else today was going to be my date of death." Akshara rambled.

Samaiya's chuckles from Akshara's mishap turned to loud laughter, as what happened seeped into her and Akshara's monologue was doing no favours. She had a huge smile, with that thought in mind Ishaan dropped food on his own shirt.

Samaiya saw Ishaan's dirty shirt, for some reason she found it extremely funny and started laughing harder.

Everyone heard the loud laughter coming from the living room.

"Should we check what the children are doing, that is so funny?" Mr Singh asked at the dinner table.

"No need, we can ask them after we finish dinner." Mrs Agarwal said, knowing her daughter's behaviour.

After dinner everyone gathered around to continue the discussions for the marriage that they had to prepare in a month.

"I'm taking Samaiya with me, I want to talk to her alone." Ishaan announced before everyone started with their group discussion. He wanted to talk to her, but couldn't do it in front of everyone, as she would not like that.

Everyone was slightly surprised by Ishaan's sudden demands, but no one stopped him, instead the a.d.u.l.ts decided to teach Ishaan the word 'embarrassment'.

"Look at him, he hasn't even put an engagement ring on her and he's already claiming Samaiya, unwilling to share." Mr Singh teased his son, with a boisterous laugh.

"Samaiya go with him, he may start to cry if he doesn't get you alone." Mr Agarwal said, deciding to join the fun of teasing the young couple.

Samaiya's face became redder as the seconds passed by, she gave an angry glance at Ishaan, which did not go unnoticed by the people in the room.

"Jijaji, you shouldn't put Samaiya on the spot. You may already be in the doghouse." Akshara teased, everyone laughed at the thought of Ishaan being heartbroken by being banned to the doghouse.

Samaiya quickly stood up and dragged Ishaan away before her family could turn their words against them.

Ishaan happily followed, like a puppy who was praised by his master and was receiving unlimited amount of love. As Samaiya dragged Ishaan to her room, she could hear everyone laughing, she even heard her grandfather joining in on the fun.

Once she closed the door, silence ensued as she waited for Ishaan to speak up.

"Samaiya…"

"Hmm, tell me.." Samaiya replied, patiently waiting for Ishaan to continue.

"Are you sure, are you sure that you want me as a husband?" Ishaan asked, keeping all jokes aside.

"Well I'm honestly not sure, you haven't exactly formally asked and I'm a very difficult person to deal with. I don't know if you will continue to like me once you see all of my sides. What if you get bored and… lea.." Samaiya started rambling, she was excited about opening her heart that her thoughts did not go through their full process of thinking.

Ishaan took Samaiya's hands in his and brought his body lower so that she would look at his eyes.

"I will never leave you and I won't let you escape. You are forever mine." Ishaan said, his smooth and deep voice sending butterflies in Samaiya's stomach.

Samaiya continued with her ramblings, "How do you know that I will accept. Have you even asked me?" She said, her tone slightly angry at how confident Ishaan was behaving.

Ishaan couldn't help but laugh at the cute tiny woman in front of him. She always stole his thunder.

Samaiya noticed that Ishaan was bending lower and lower until he was on one knee.

"My dear Samaiya, the woman who stole my heart, will you accept this ring, and Marry me." Ishaan said, he looked nervous unsure of what she could say.

As always Samaiya surprised him by throwing the question back at him.

"As long as you accept my ring." Samaiya said with a huge smile, going to her dresser that contained the small box with the ring she bought for him.

With that, under the starry night sky, in a quiet room a man and a woman exchanged their rings, opening their hearts to the journey that was about to begin.

As Samaiya put her ring on Ishaan's finger, she heard a small chuckle.

"What is it?" Samaiya asked curious to know what he was thinking about.

"Nothing, it's just that I realised you're pretty short, it's cute." Ishaan replied, giving her a smile that could make women weak in their knees.

Annoyed at Ishaan's comment about her height, she started removing the ring from his finger instead of putting it on.

Ishaan started to laugh louder. This made Samaiya angrier and she started to walk away from him.

"Go find a tall girl to marry, leave." Samaiya said as she pouted in a corner of her room.

Ishaan walked over towards her and pulled Samaiya into his arms, not allowing Samaiya to reject his advances, he leaned down.

Something warm captured Samaiya's lips, she allowed Ishaan to kiss her. The kiss was an innocent one but seeing Samaiya's compliance he deepened the kiss as his d.e.s.i.r.es were ignited. He only let go of Samaiya's lips when she was out of breath, and scooped down for another session, Samaiya's knees gave out, her heart racing, she wrapped her arms around Ishaan's neck for support.

Ishaan lifted Samaiya with ease and sat her on his l.a.p.

"Can I have my ring back?" Ishaan asked. He kissed Samaiya on her collarbone, where her blush had spread, marking her before looking at his handiwork.

He guided her hand with the ring, sliding it on to his finger. The ring that Samaiya bought was a simple but elegant platinum ring, where the two bands of platinum were twisted around each other, there was a tiny engraving on the platinum band. It read, 'Forever Yours'.

Samaiya was still in a daze, by Ishaan's advances. Ishaan decided to stop before he lost control.
