I returned to the table where Ishaan was sitting. Now that he had already caught me, I couldn't exactly leave.

"I'm surprised that we would have met again in this way, as prospective marriage partners." Ishaan started the conversation.

"I know, it is kind of weird that I may be marrying my high school classmate," I replied, intentionally emphasizing on classmate.

At this Ishaan frowned, "Come on Samaiya, we were more than classmates. Why did you stop talking to me?"

"No reason, have you ordered yet? I'm starving." I said in one breath hoping that we could change the topic.

He ignored my obvious change in the conversation, "No I haven't, do you know what's good? This is the first time that I have come here." He replied.

"Hmm, the sandwiches are good, and the coffee is the best, they have all types of roasts and beans, cold and hot." I said excited about anything coffee.

The corner of Ishaan's lips curled upward, "You love coffee, I'll note that down for whenever we fight. If you are still as feisty as you were in high school."

"Me, feisty. I was not. I just told everything to a persons' face. How is it my fault, that they would easily get offended" I justified myself trying to hide my embarrassment.

Ishaan went to a full-blown laughter, hearing what I said. "You truly haven't changed, still acting like a tigress. So cute." He said in between his laughter.

At that I almost lost it, Why the hell is he making me so fl.u.s.tered. "Stop teasing me!" I said almost shouting, just to make him stop.

"Sorry Dear. Let, me order for us or probably you will bite my head off, if I keep you waiting." He winked as he said.

He called the waiter to order the food. As he was ordering I allowed my mind to wander, I observed the person sitting in front of me.

He was nice, but still had that domineering aura, where he commanded everything around him. Though his clothes were casual it was easy to notice that they were designer. His eyes… I found his eyes to be the most appealing. It always showed the truth and could see through anyone. These eyes were now looking straight at me. Oops! He caught me staring. I immediately looked away as a blush started creeping up.

"I'm happy to know that I have all of your attention. Am I Handsome?" He asked.

Fl.u.s.tered, I replied, "Ye… No, still ugly thought you would look better but turns out you're worse."

"Hmm, is that so." He said with a smirk on his lips.

"Look the food came," I said anything to change the weird atmosphere surrounding us.

"I see." He gave a short reply.

I concentrated on eating and avoided looking at him. But I could feel his continuous stare, the lunch was becoming very awkward.

"So, were you able to fulfil your dream of becoming a medical researcher." Ishaan started to talk, dispersing the awkward atmosphere.

"Yes, I did. I am able to work with this amazing team of people, and the professor is someone who I have always respected." I started going on and on about work.

I could see the sparkle in Samaiya's eyes as she talked about her work.

"Have you made any new drugs that could improve the medical field." I asked.

"Not yet, but we are reaching a breakthrough on viral infection." She replied, I could see the contained excitement in her eyes.

I remember in high school she was exactly like how she is now, always craving to learn more.

Until one day I stopped seeing her as happy as before. She distanced herself form me, her smile did not reach her eyes, she learnt to put a mask. The mask seemed to be unbreakable, every day I wanted to rip it off, but I couldn't.

My parents had to move to another city and we never stayed in touch, but now I am here, and I will do everything I can for her to smile without any restraint.

I was determined to make her look only at me, she would only be mine.

The lunch was coming to an end. Samaiya felt that is was a rather pleasant one, but she knew that she could never marry Ishaan.

"I'll pay," Samaiya immediately offered not used of being treated by someone else.

"How could I let a beautiful lady pay for a meal when she already has accompanied me and made the meal much more appetizing. That is not what a proper gentleman would do." Ishaan said. Happy that Samaiya probably hasn't gone on many dates or flirted with others by the way she blushed at anything he said.

"Ah, ok," Samaiya replied.

As they were walking out of the café, Ishaan suddenly grabbed Samaiya's hand and brought is close to his face.

"I'll see you again soon," he said while kissing her hand.

Samaiya was in a daze for a few seconds before realizing what had happened. She quickly pulled back he hand, she was speechless at the behaviour of the smiling playboy standing in front of her.

Before she could say anything, Ishaan spoke up, "Goodbye my wife. Don't forget to dream of me when you go to sleep." He said, while blinking at the girl who was looking like a tomato about to burst any minute.

As Ishaan was walking away he could hear a girl shouting in anger, "I will never marry you!!!"

"We will see about that," Ishaan whispered as he walked away chuckling at his cute bride.
