No One Else's But Mine

Chapter 3 - End of the tour

"My name is Jang Geun Suk and I wish to audition to become a talent of YG Entertainment." He said in the video recording.

In the recording, he was only 14 and he had flown from his hometown just to accomplish his dreams of becoming a singer slash actor.

"Why did you decide to become a part of YG Entertainment?"

"I just enjoy singing and acting. So much that I want the whole world to see my skills!" Jang Geun Suk replied proudly.

The Jang Geun Suk that was watching the recording sighed loudly followed by the noise of someone pressing the stop button on the remote. He then lay the remote on the very expensive glass table depressingly.

He glanced around the YG Entertainment idol suite until his eyes landed on his guitar leaning against the midnight-painted walls.

"Hello there, Choo Suk." He greeted when he made his way over to the only thing left that gave him joy.

The reason he called this black and brown codded guitar by the name of Choo Suk is because that was his mother's name; which he loved very much.

She had died of cancer just after he had called to let her know that he had passed the audition. He hadn't noticed the weakness in her voice due to the excitement he felt.

He made his way back to the couch and made sure the guitar was in tune before he played his favourite song 'My Precious', the song he wrote for the audition, which also became his first debut song.

Playing music alone in his room was the only thing that made him feel he was playing for real and not because he has to stay noticed and present in his industry.

"My ear is still full of your shy whisper

our story is getting thicker.

The story is about lovely foolish ones

that lean against each other to live.

You sow in me, the uncared guy

one little dream as a sunshine

that comes through the streetlight in the alley

where I am walking with deliberate steps.

My precious", that was all he could sing before his manager and secretary quickly entered the room.

"Just when I was starting the chorus," complained Jang Guen Suk. Disapprovingly.

"Come on there's no time for that you need to know your schedule since your tour is coming up." Bae Min, his manager and also YG Entertainment's boss grabbed Choo Suk out of his hands and carefully place it back to where it originally was.

"I think you have told me continuously how busy I will be leading up to my tour" he reminded.

In truth, Jang Guen Suk didn't want to know or hear anything more on this tour which he was not looking forward to, for Jang Guen Suk had been offered a few acting gigs for dramas with the condition that he expand his fan base and popularity.

Basically, this concert was not to show off and share his music with the world but just to benefit someone else when he becomes apart of their project.

"Ahh, but there is something new on your schedule."

"Eun Ae, is that true?" Jang Geun Suk asked.

Eun Ae nodded her head while Bae Min gave him a disapproving look. Most preferably due to Jang Geun Suk not believing him enough that he has to address Eun Ae.

Eun Ae had no trouble becoming Bae Min's secretary as she knew just what to say, dress and always complete tasks with full satisfaction. Today she wore her hair in a tight bun with a tight business skirt and white long sleeved button-up.

"Because you haven't done a tour in a long time, the media has requested for an interview with you tomorrow, which Bae Min has already confirmed with a 'yes'." She informed while looking down at his schedule placed in a black clipboard folder.

"That's right. So you should be ready for tomorrow and have what you're going to say written down," said Bae Min.

Jang Geun Suk was a little irritated at Bae Min confirming the interview without his knowledge and or even discussing it with him, but it was expected of him when he thought it benefitted his company and the idol's reputation and image. He was a manager who sometimes acted on his own without Jang Geun Suk's consent but still took great care of him all these years.

When his mom had died he had nowhere to stay and Bae Min had specially prepared this idol suite just for him behind the YG Entertainment building.

Bae Min grabbed the schedule from his secretary while flipping each page after reading it through. "Is that all for Jang? Or does he have something else to add as well?"

"No, sir. That is the only new thing that Jang needed to be informed on." She replied formally. She was in the process of thinking when she suddenly blurted out something she forgot.

"Ahh... Actually, you also need to let the Suno High School principal know who will be chosen by our company to participate as the teacher of the program Talent Realm which we are sponsoring".

That peeked Jang Geun Suk's interest and he couldn't help asking out of curiosity. "What is this Talent Realm program?".

Eun Ae was a bit startled by h butting in as she was very concentrated on what Bae Min was going to answer her. She didn't notice him enough to be scared. He could also see Bae Min raising an eyebrow at him and his curiosity on the topic.

Eun Ae and Bae Min are aware that when Jang Guen Suk was curious about something, he would act on his own impulse without discussing with them.

Therefore, Jang made sure that his next reply would come out as casually and the least bit curious as possible so that they wouldn't suspect anything.

They seemed to have bought it because Eun Ae looked at Bae Min asking for approval, waiting for his signal to allow her to mention anything to him. Bae Min was silent for a minute before he slowly nodded his head in submission.

Eun Ae and Bae Min made their way to the middle of the lounge room and both took their seats on the long leather sofa. He followed, suspecting that it was a conversation worth sitting down for. Eun Ae didn't waste time starting as soon as he was seated and ready to listen.

"This year, lots of talent agencies are in need of scouting models and gaining new talent. So, because of this, Bae Min has decided to sponsor the Talent Realm program where a qualified person picked by Bae Min will be selected to be the teacher with the responsibility to prepare the students, combined from the drama and music classes for an end of the year performance festival. which all the talent agencies in Korea will attend to scout any students who they think will be able to become a star under their care."

"I see." Jang Guen Seuk said while thinking deeply.

Bae Min then slowly stood up from the couch with Eun Ae following afterwards. He then handed back the folder with Jang Geun Suk's schedule and turned to face Jang Guen Suk, letting him know they would be heading back to his office.

"Wait, Eun Ae." Jang Geun Suk called out.

"Can you change that interview appointment to today in about an hour?" A cheeky smile plastered on my face. Eun Ae gave Jang a questioning look before saying, "What are you up to, Jang?"

"No funny business, Jang. And I mean it." Warned Bae Min while pointing a finger in his direction.

"I wouldn't dare, I just want to get this interview done as quickly as possible," he said, only slightly lying.

Jang Geun Suk wasn't lying when he said he wanted the interview to be over as soon as possible, but he knew Bae Min and Eun Ae wouldn't be too pleased with the ending result of it.

"Eun Ae, move that interview meeting for today."

"Yes sir," replied Eun Ae.

You are quite the mastermind, he praised internally. Mentally reminding himself to control the urge to smile at present.

"Well... I better prepare for the interview," he brought up, leading them out of his idol sweet. "As to be sure not to miss it."

While they eventually left his place after some hesitation, it finally allowed him to have a shower.
