Now, Where Am I?

Chapter 63 - A meeting with Hela

She was tired in the end and could not stand anymore. She was on her knees and asked me while catching her breath.

Hela: "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

Kyle: "Who am I, it does not matter and for why I am here. I just want to meet you."

Hela: "Let's just get over with. I know my father has sent you here to finish me as his end is near. No need to sweet-talk me."

Kyle: "You are getting everything wrong. I am not here to kill you. I could have killed you by now if I wanted to. I am just here to meet you."

Hela: "Ha-Ha. Don't think I am stupid. Why would anyone come to meet me, the goddess of death, who killed her own companions in hunger for power."

Kyle: "Who said I am here to meet the Goddess of death. I am here to meet you. I am here to a woman named Hela."

I started moving toward her. She had teary eyes but she was controlling them very well.

Hela: "Don't try to fool me. Why do you want to meet me? No one ever cared about me"

Kyle: "Why do I want you? Let's just say, I know you are not what you show. I just see a girl who is betrayed and lonely. Misunderstood by everyone but don't worry. I know who you really are."

This time the dam holding her tears broke down. Tears started falling. I went near her and hugged her and patted her head. She hugged me started crying.

Hela: "No one cared about me. Father threw me here He never asked me reasoned with me. He ne…never…"

Kyle: "Don't worry Hela. Everything will be fine."

She cried a lot and slept in my embrace. I used reality manipulating to make a bed and tucked her in. I made a mansion and sifted her inside.

Next day when she woke up. She found herself on a bed. She came downstairs and found me cooking breakfast.

Kyle: "Oh you woke up. Go, clean yourself and have something to eat."

Hela: "I don't need to eat."

Kyle: "Neither do I but it feels good to eat."

She nodded and I showed her the way to the bathroom. I went back to cook. After some time, she came back. I asked her to sit to eat and I served her food.

While eating she asked me about me.

Hela: "I never got your name and how do you find me?"

Kyle: "Oh… Sorry. My name is Kyle Silvers. I am from Midgard. As for how I know about it? It was just a hunch that I would find you here."

We ate the food without talking much. She went back to her room. She is still not much open about her and does not know whether to trust me or not.

I went to his room. I knocked on the door. She called me in. I checked her room's condition. Nothing was changed much except some manga were scattered on her bed.

Kyle: "Oh… Sorry if I disturbed you but if you want to read something good to read ask me."

I turned back to leave her alone but she muttered my name but I still didn't stop.

Hela: "Kyle, wait."

Kyle: "Hmm, need anything"

Hela: "You…You said…"

Kyle: "I said what?"

Hela: "You suggest me something good to read"

I chucked a little and gave her a manhwa to read. 'Solo Levelling' I have read it before and I liked its concept. I passed it to her and went back to check on other things.

I teleported myself back to the lab and asked Meg about the progress of the new bionic android.

Kyle: "So, how it is going? Any progress?"

Meg: "I have embedded the stone and it's reacting to it. It is not opposing the process like the previous ones."

I checked some data and went back to Hel.

I found Hela in the garden. She was on the swing. I can see a faint smile on her face. Maybe she is not what was portrayed in the movies.

I went to her. Seeing me she stopped swinging and the smile vanished and the cold look the place again.

Kyle: "You look beautiful when you smile. So, smile more."

Hela: "I am not supposed to smile. It will make me weaker."

Kyle: "Who said those things to you?"

Hela: "Father told me never to smile as I am the goddess of Death. I should always kill anyone whoever stands in my path."

No, I am angry. What the f.u.c.k is wrong with that old bastard. What was he thinking? Who treats their child like killing machines?

I went to her and hugged her. She was quite shocked again but she didn't refuse it. I patted her.

Kyle: "Why should you believe in those words. Who said Goddess of Death should never smile? Death is just a phase. It is neither joyful nor sorrow. Don't let someone's ideal affect you. Smile more. Smile for me."

Saying so I tightened my grip around her. I felt something wet on my shirt. 'Is she crying?' I let her cry in my embrace. I don't know when she went back to sleep. I lifted her and teleported to her room. Poor Girl.

I tucked her in bed. I can see a faint smile on her face. I left her there and went back to earth. I teleported to Kamar-Taj to check on Strange. I found her with Yue.

Kyle: "Everything alright? Mr Strange."

Strange: "HAA…. You scared me, Mr Silvers. Yes, everything is good. Thank you for helping me out. I never knew there is much to learn out there."

Kyle: "Never mind. Oh, I almost forgot. Yue, here, I want to return this book to you."

I passed her a book about the soul world and its formation. I tried reading it but lost interest. I forgot about returning it that's why it is with me for so long.
