NPC’s Domination

Chapter 18 - Preparations for launch and using the gifts (3)

Sneaking out of the chambre, I nearly closed the door, when a black claw appeared in the closing gap. A black eye looked at me, accusingly for not taking him with me. It looked so cute! Him trying to pout with that small face of his and no real lips pressed together. "Alright, I will take you with me. Just don't look at me like that." Onyx puffed out a small cloud of fume out of his nose and immediately climbed on my head again, apparently his favourite spot.

~Dimensional Rift: Area 51

A crack in space appeared, big enough to let me through. Stepping through the crack, that was filled with so much dark energy that it even flowed out of the portal and onto the ground. I don't know what was different this time. Stepping through it, instead of appearing on a new planet, I landed in a grey box. A voice I knew, but currently didn't know who it belonged to, appeared on speakers out of nowhere.

[Hello, Kishtan. Finally we meet again. Do you still know who I am? It has been a long time for you.]

Then the realisation hit me. It was the manager of the Rising Dragon company that had uploaded me into the game.

- What do you want from me? And yes, I know who you are.

[Coming directly to the point. I like the refreshing politic of yours. It's different from those old farts that call themselves politicians. Why I called you was because of the impeding launch of the game.]

- Oh yeah, right another concern.

[What was that?]

- Nothing. Hmpf, What is there to discuss?

[Well, are you alright in there? Because from out here, we can't do anything at all to help you.]

- I am doing great. And on my side, the game is ready to start. If there is a forum for the game already, say that one of the features that were newly added or better, changed, the profession isn't a permanent one but can be changed during the game. And the penalty for death is expulsion from the game for a week together with two levels lost, beginning from level 3 on. Before you can't be killed by another player, but only by NPCs and monsters. Additionally, how many players exactly will come?

[It isn't clear yet. But our capsules are selling like hotstocks, we already sold them over a billion time and the numbers keep increasing.]

- Wow... Even I didn't expect that, but as it sells so good. Do I get a reward for creating such a good game? For your 'moneymaking game', that's what you called it, right, I implemented the coin-to-credit system but if you send me 10% of your incomes as gold coins over, I won't let the elite beasts as the first event come over and let your happy merry-making extinguish. Deal?

I heard gnashing teeths and then, after some time of grumbling, I heard a, 'deal accepted' coming over the speakers. Then, I opened up a dimensional rift, before she could say anything and stepped through it. After all, it's still my world. This time I was really in Area 51 but I was not in the same place as the behemoths and the dryads. Around me, weren't any animals yet, but after I opened the map, I found some dungeons around me in the vicinity. I clicked on the one with the biggest skull and the five stars below it.

[Celestial level dungeon: Ancient Dragon's Lair]

(For anybody else to know: the difficulty stages of the dungeons are

-Lowest to highest: Normal, Difficult, Hero, Hell, Celestial)

That sounded like a good training spot. Playing with Onyx, I walked over the area where the dungeon was supposed to be. The weather here was weird, there was a sky which was blood red and long, grassy plains in which the grass seemed to dance. If it wouldn't have had the weird shape at the top of the grass, it would have looked bewitching. But through the skull at the top of the grass it seemed to the bypasser as if the skulls were laughing at you.

There, in the distance, some rocky mountain stood. Towering above all the grass lands. With every step, I came closer to that place and finally I was able to make out some features of the mountain. Or should I better say stone palace? Because that's what it was. Outside the the palace, some little people seemed to play. Another few kilometers nearer, I saw that they weren't playing with each other, but some bigger guys had wh.i.p.s in their hands and slashed the smaller people with it, which were working on bringing stones to the palace and enlargening it. Using ~Vanish I disappeared from my spot and had to tell, Onyx to not make any noise. As slowly and stealthy as a person of nine meters height could sneak, in an environment built for much more smaller creatures, I tried to spy on the bigger creatures and I realised, they were Draconians, mixed breeds between a dragon and another race. The smaller ones were draconians as well, but apparently they were viewed much less important and tried to distinguish from which race they were as well. And what I saw shocked me...

A few hours earlier, shortly after arriving in Area 51, Kishtan and Onyx sat down on the ground. There Kishtan took out the last bits of the equipment he was gifted and identified them.

Slowly getting used to good things coming out of my box of wonders, called the inventory, I immediately equipped them, but already having so much strength, intelligence and hp, I only sensed my hands getting more dangerous than they already were.

Walking slowly, to not let Onyx fall down, I walked along the planes until I arrived at the situation mentioned before.
