Chapter 22 - Finding back to civilization (1)

"Hello Mo, yeah, fortunately I am back. I didn't like it in the other place, and I have to buy something to eat in the other world to survive. I will be here for a few days and then I will have to head back, probably. What happened during the mean-time? Anything major?"

"No, nothing happened besides you passing out. Now that you're back, sound and healthy, do you want to eat something? I hunted in the surroundings but barely found any wild to hunt because of the undead disaster. If we want to survive, we either have to find back to civilization and you pray to Kishtan and tell him, he should give us some hints in which direction to walk off or we could stay here and meander with time through the woods and live from wilds. It's pretty much your choice, I don't really care." he stood up and walked to the entrance of the cave and looked out for any dangers who might approach, although unlikely.

"I will pray and then we will start walking in some direction. It surely won't take long for him to answer." I stood there and gathered the energy inside of myself which I identified as mana and chanted with lifted arms in the sky: "Kishtan, listen to me, my retainer and I, your followers, are in dire problems. Through the undead disaster there are no wilds near and we will starve. Further, we don't know where we have to go to come to a nearby village. I beseech you, guide us." Nodding to Mo, we walked out of the entrance and then in the distance, just as we wanted to walk in a random direction, a bird appeared in the sky, that had been empty before and cawed at us constantly until we decided to follow him. Flying into the direction of the woods, we had to run to catch up with him and follow him. Sticks hit us like wh.i.p.s and thorns ripped off our clothes and skin. Even Mo's expensive clothes that had identified him as an aristocrat of the mermen were shredded, leaving only bloody skin there. It had been difficult to always run like this, jumping over multiple branches and diving below them or crawling along the muddy floor and it had to happen sometime. I fell, or more, I was hit by a branch directly in my face. Trying to stand up, I noticed that I wasn't able to move my body anymore. "Mo, what's wrong with me? I can't move!" He looked back and his face that was full of scratches, got darker and he yelled: "I'm coming!" he ran back and took out his saber. "That's a treant!" I knew how the treants from my world looked like and I was terrified that there may be a monster that held me in his roots and pulled me down into the ground. "Kill it! Kill that nasty bastard!" I screamed to Mo and tried to distract the enemy. ~Vapor slash

Mist gathered around his blade and suddenly with an outburst of energy, it was released as a hot stream towards the treant and melted some of the wooden membris on top of it. I actually saw nothing, but then the crown on top of me moved and I realised that I was staring at the treant the whole time. The reason why it moved, was, because it was attacked and wanted to defend against it.

So, he let me go and I finally saw how I wasn't able to move. There was a hole in my stomach, through which a root had drilled through and that had held me down and I was able to see the blood-stained ground through it. ~Heal

I held my hand on top of it and some light green light shone through my hands and onto the wound. Slowly, barely noticeable, the wound began to heal and the flesh was melded back together. As I stood up again, the battle was in full progress. Mo, hovering with a misty saber, trying to sting and heat up the treant with his scorching-hot mist and the treant, trying to burrow into Mo with waggling tentacles, that still had earth on them. But it seemed as if Mo was loosing, since some tiny holes already all over his body were. ~Create Miracle

"Defending the high priest of Kishtan for a good cause and defending against a treant he needs some strenght, agility and vitality for that he isn't pierced by evil tentacles. Bless!"

A red light shone around Mo and suddenly he dashed across the surface and gave off hits that were strong enough to shatter the wooden shell of the treant. Hitting the trunk of the tree-monster, he forced it into a kneeling like position. Suddenly, just as Mo was about to smash the tree's crown into pieces, a lean figure, with pelts all over it appeared in front of us and tried to speak with us.

"Stop!" it cried. Desperately, it wanted to jump in front of Mo's hit, trying to save the tree's life.

"Why should we? He attacked us first. And by the way, who are you and where do you come from this sudden?" Suspicious about the figure, who still hadn't taken off her hood, I eyed the figure and still thought about the hole in my stomach that had been there a few moments ago.

"I am Shira, a member of the panther tribe here in the vicinity." she took of her hood and I was able to see a beautiful girl in her early twenties, with emerald green eyes, that fortunately weren't glowing like the ones of the undead, and some curly brown hair, that fell down freely on her shoulders, "I was here in the bushes waiting for you to do somehting stupid, since I shadowed you from the beginning when you first entered our territory. And the thing you were about to do would have reserved you the whole hatred of my tribe. The tree you wanted to kill, that's the holy tree of my tribe that we have been worshipping as a instrument to speak to our god, Flavius. So please, spare him."

After I heard 'hatred of the whole tribe', I immediately wanted Mo to stop threatening the tree and asked Shira: "Can you show us where your tribe lives? We have lost the way we came here and don't know where the next village is, where we can rest and fill up our stacks of weapon and reserves of food."

"Sure, follow me." She confidently walked ahead and Mo and I had to look that we kept the same pace as her, as she proficiently walked through the forest and the bushes.

"SHIRA, WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?"
