NPC’s Domination

It has been a long time since the Rising dragon company has announced a new, and they surely must have developed something amazing. I would expect nothing else from them.

I am a professional gamer that has unfortunately come out of age to play the games professionally like I did before in my youth but then I specialised in rating new games on websites while trying them out. In this modern age, nearly every game has a coin transfer to convert them into real money and I was so good, that even now I could take this job actually just as a hobby to live my life peacefully.

Yesterday, the company has set up a timeline for an interview about their new, soon to be released game. Right now, I am walking along the hallway to the interview room and I see many of my old rivals, which were elite players as well coming to this interview. Obviously, this game will have a lot of attention in the future. I take a seat in the foremost row of seats, hoping to get the chance to ask questions and hear every response directly. Behind me are several rows and every chair is occupied. Even the standing grounds are taken by multiple broadcasting stations from all over the world.

Finally the room dims down and a screen shows a message. "What if a new reality has been created? Will it change the world" After this left some effect behind, the manager of Rising dragon company steps out from behind the wall and applause from the audience comes. As the applause lowers, the manager begins speaking: "Welcome everyone, today we wanted to introduce you to our newest product. The fully-immersive virtual reality capsule. After hearing this, I am sure, you all have a lot of questions, but please let me speak to the end. Afterwards, I will answer any questions of yours. As well, we created a game, where you can earn money like in the other games there are, but the difference would be, you are in there for a much longer time than in the other games. We personally didn't develop the game and we haven't tried it out yet. That will be the task of the beta players. They all were professional gamers and know how to rate a game. Now let's get to the point of your questions and then we will let the players start the game to get us a review and let us know about the stuff which is in it, what interests us all. So let's get started, shall we?"

- Miss, what is the name of the game?

- We don't know yet. We first have to know what it is about.

- How did you build the fully-immersive capsule?

- That we can't tell you, but I assure you it has been tested in multiple trials.

- How many capsules have been created?

- Enough to provide the demand, which will come soon, all over the world. They just have to be assembled at their homes, by specialists which we will provide.

- How much will it cost?

- Just 2'000 credits.

- What? So cheap. The capsule is a new chapter in technology of mankind's history. Why sell it only at such a low price?

- Because it is pretty easy for us to construct them.

- Will it have an impact on human society?

- Probably, since as a first in this field of technology, many will try it out. As well, in multiple of the s, which I read and fancied in my past, those games changed the lives of the maincharacter and society around them. So, probably, this game will change the lives of this generation as well.

Multiple questions were asked after these few, but after some time, it was finally time for the testers to test the game and my time came.

"The gamers, which I invited, shall come to me on the stage. Take your belongings with you, you won't return here ... Now that all are here, you shall follow me to the room with the capsules. I will say it to you once, the characters you create in there, will not, and I emphasise, will not be deleted, even after the testing ends. This may seem like an unfair advantage against the other players, but I ensure you, you will not come out of the beginners village where you will spawn in and so you won't have that much of an advantage against other players. The rest, like your behaviour, will affect, how the other NPCs will view you and as well, I wanted to have said that there isn't anything like a storyline in the other games. That's all I know, even as the manager of the game."

After saying this, she walked along a hallway and eventually we arrived at a big door. She pushed it open and 16 two meter long capsules, rowed one after another appeared in front of us. Luckily, none of us were bigger than two meters. Next, we had to put off our clothes, even our u.n.d.e.r.w.e.a.r and then lie into the capsule. The metallic lid slowly closed above us and cold gel enclosed us, which should help the neural cells connect with the game so that we would experience everything like we would in the real world and nourish us, so that we wouldn't have to log out.
