Ocean Of Broken Dreams

Chapter 31 - [Lower Ocean]

"Kyah!" – The head of the unfortunate enemy directly exploded in many pieces. The young woman lowered her leg and jumped towards the next enemy. It was impossible to guess that inside this skinny and elegant body was concealed the strength of an ancient beast.

The small inn was already filled with corpses, and many streams of fresh blood were flowing on the ground.

She clenched the torso of the next enemy with her legs and started punching his face.

"Where." *Punch* "Is." *Punch* "Your." *Punch* "Master!"

Before he could even try to answer he was reduced into a pile of meat.

Her fists were covered by blood and gore. *Psssh* Suddenly her whole body exploded with a yellow flame which in the next moment condensed and became liquid.

It cleaned her body and disappeared.

"As violent as always, Krya."

An old voice sounded from behind her. Krya's pupils constricted and she subconsciously dodged by ducking. The precise point where her head was a second ago was pierced by a rapier's tip.

After initial shock she gritted her teeth in rage and pounced on the old man clad in silver armor who just entered.

"Old bag of bones! One day you will really kill with one of your ambushes!"

She was trying to punch him, but he swiftly dodged every single one of her hits. – "Hahahahaha, but this is still a good training for your reflexes, Little Krya." – His speed was astonishing considered his heavy armor.

"I'm not little!"

The old man only laughed loudly while blocking and dodging her attacks. Krya accelerated and only some flashes of her red hair could be seen but everything was useless against the man.

After half an hour she directly sat down on the floor. Her breath heavy. – "One day…I will…beat…the shit…out of you…Master Ghill!"

"I know. Every day you are becoming more and more powerful so it would be only a natural conclusion to our master-disciple relationship."

He looked around, at many corpses which surrounded them.

*BOOM*

He directly caught her fist aimed on his face and asked, as nothing happened. – "Have you obtained some results here about their master?"

"No…" – Krya's face suddenly reddened in embarrassment…Ghill sighed. – "You killed them all before they could even answer your questions?"

Her face became even redder and she looked down. Her complexion became akin to her hair color.

"Well, I was more…patient that you, so I discovered their master's whereabouts. He is in the Last Ray City."

Krya was immediately surprised. – "Isn't that too deep inside the Nightmare God's territory?"

Her master nodded. – "I thought so too, but the one who told me that seemed very convinced and sincere."

There was something creepy in his voice when he told this.

Krya jumped up and ran outside. – "Yeah! To Last Rey City! Follow me Old Man!" – Ghill smiled and exited the devastated inn.

[…]

Alexander was observing the whole thing from Ghill's perspective. 'Why do I have these strange dreams?'

That was the question he asked very often but obviously had no answer.

He could only hope to understand everything later and he concentrated on another thing.

'That girl summoned flames but then she transformed them into liquid!'

He was using the old man's eyes to observe so he was sure. Master Ghill saw clearly the energy changes inside Krya's body.

'I need to try this thing…later, maybe after I condensed a few more Energy Mass Points…'

As he was thinking suddenly his vision clouded and another scene appeared in front of him.

[…]

It was a huge space that seemed the insides of some sort of temple. Ghill was kneeled on the ground, motionless.

His left hand was missing, but no blood could be seen.

It was burned away.

In front of him there was Krya, laying on the ground. Her heart was pierced by the rapier which pinned her on the ground.

Ghill's eyes were lifeless.

Suddenly a coarse laugh sounded from Krya's mouth. – "Haha…Hahahaha…Hahahahahaha." – Some blood spurted when she started talking.

"Haha…Old Master Ghill…So many…years have passed." – Krya's blood started converging in the air above her corpse.

An outline of a horned humanoid being appeared shortly after.

Ghill still didn't move.

The creature smirked. – "Don't tell me that you cared for this little girl? I'm so sorry."

"Archeron…" – Whispered the Old Man. The creature was visibly delighted. – "You still remember my name, Ghill! Wonderful!"

[…]

Once Alexander saw the creature, he was surprised. 'He is…a Godly Spirit? Like the Malahazar guy?'

Indeed, they were very alike. The horns were slightly different but the method to manifest oneself from blood was the same.

[…]

*Swish*

A huge scythe appeared in Archeron's hands. – "This is the end of the road for you, Master Ghill. Your soul must be delicious."

He raised the weapon above Ghill's head.

*Clang*

The scythe was blocked a centimeter away from the Old Man's neck. – "Even the generals under your Emperor are not qualified to claim may life."

The Godly Spirit was slightly surprised. – "That power…"

Old man's whole body was slowly covered by a purple flame and he stood up easily pushing away the enemy's weapon.

The flame intensified, and suddenly condensed into two additional pairs of arms floating behind Ghill's back.

His eyes became cold and merciless.

In each new arm appeared a sword. Ghill took a long breath and launched himself towards Archeron.

"DIE!"

"Come at me, tortured soul…" – Whispered the Godly Spirit and also attacked.

*BOOOOOOM*

[…]

Alexander opened his eyes and saw the ceiling of his room.

It was already morning and the first rays of daylight, even if they would never penetrate the darkness of Blackwater, could be seen from the window.

'He had the same bloodline as me?'

It was the first thought Alexander had. He wasn't even sure that the person named Ghill was from the Broken Ocean, so he couldn't understand how he had the same bloodline. But he sensed an unprecedented familiarity from the energy Ghill was using.

It' couldn't be a simple coincidence.

In the end he decided to ask Roland some questions about the bloodlines. 'That bandaged man knows a lot about bloodlines…'

He closed his room and went down. There were already some people waiting. The last one to arrive was the Captain John himself.

He only nodded to everyone before leaving the mansion.

The sea was calm, and the wind was weak. Some seagulls were flying along the black sails.

Alexander started condensing the second Energy Mass Point. This time the whole process was far easier than before, and he managed to finish just in four hours.

He could clearly sense two purple "specks" of energy rapidly flowing along his blood.

"Return to your cabins. We're a about to jump to the Lower Ocean."

Captain emerged from inside the ship and unsheathed his sword which started glowing with black light.

After a few moments the whole ship also started trembling and glowing.

Alexander jumped into his room.

[…]

John closed his eyes and concentrated. He raised his sword and immediately the whole energy of the ship seemed condensed in that single blade.

Invisible pressure spread from John and the sea around the ship became still.

With emotionless face John slashed in front of him.

*BRUUUUUUMM*

The space itself shattered and a huge tear appeared directly in the air in front of the Sorrow.

The whole ship at full speed entered inside the rift.

[…]

Everything was trembling. Alexander was even somehow scared, but he had no other choice apart from waiting.

After an entire hour everything stopped, and the boy carefully exited from his cabin.

Something immediately felt different. 'The energy…There is more energy in the air!' Suddenly understood Alexander.

The energy in the atmosphere was at least three times greater than before. The boy looked around. The sky was with some strange shade of green in it.

The see was darker and radiated danger.

*ROOOOOOAR*

An extremely huge serpent emerged from the water.

*BOOOM*

In the same moment three energy beams shot from Sorrow's second deck and hit the creature piercing its head and killing it immediately.

"There always to many of them." – Commented John. – "It's your first time in the Lower Ocean, Alexander?"

The boy, still puzzled, nodded. – "I thought that it was only the name of some other part of the Broken Ocean but…"

"Everything is too different?" – Asked Captain.

Alexander nodded.

"Well, we're indeed still in the Broken Ocean…" – He paused. – "Do you know how our World is structured? Probably not." – John pointed towards the sky. – "That is the Upper Ocean."

Alexander's pupils constricted. – "What?!"

"Yes…Upper Ocean is literally above us now. They are connected by a passage and normally people use it to ascend or descend."

He smiled. – "But this time we didn't have much time, so I created a space rift to arrive here." – Some proud glint shined in his eyes but unfortunately Alexander didn't appreciate the feat of his Captain.

'The sky is…an entire ocean…above…' Alexander was still slowly digesting the information he just received. John saw this and quietly left.

'Why don't it fall down?'
