Ocean Of Broken Dreams

Alexander bent slightly his knees and his right leg moved one step forward.

And he was already running towards the incoming wave of golden lumps mixed with some surviving insects.

[Boundless energy] surrounded him and covered a few more meters around. That became his domain.

*Shrieeeck* An insect pounced towards him trying to grab his head. Alex ducked and plunged the spear right in the center of its body. Some sticky orange liquid splashed from the wound.

'Disgusting.'

The boy suddenly felt a movement on his right. *Clang* He parried another incoming limb. This time he noticed that there was something on the end of it.

'A…mouth?'

*Pshhh* The wound on the creatures' stomach was already regenerating. 'Damn it.'

"Don't you dare regen, monster." – He said and went for a second stab.

On the spear point appeared a minuscule purple fire. '[Burn]'

*SHRRRRIEEEEECK*

Sudden pain ȧssaulted his brain. He looked right and saw that a big chunk of his shoulder was directly missing. The creature fell to the ground. Its innards were already half consumed by the purple flame when it started the suicide run.

[Life IV]

A lively green covered the wound. – "F*ck." – But there was no time as another pair of insects was rapidly approaching.

The new arrivals were easier to dispose of since Alex had already learned a bit about how to deal with them.

As they entered his range one round slash imbued with [Freeze I] slowed them considerably, and two precise burning stabs finished the job.

*Crack*Crack* .

The lower part of the carapace of one of them slit open and the boy saw six spheres. 'Eggs?'

After some consideration, he froze three and shoved them into his boundless map.

"Maybe I can use them somehow…" – A huge lump of gold appeared in his vision. *Crash*

Before he could even stand up the esprit was already there with many spikes extending from his body towards the boy. 'Fast, sturdy and can create spikes from its own body…will be difficult…'

Rolled sideways he jumped back while simultaneously stabbing the creature.

*Clang* The spear point broke while only leaving a small scratch.

"F*ck" Another spike hit the middle part of the spear and broke it into two parts. A rapier appeared in his right hand, and he made a precise horizontal slash.

'[Freeze I]' the whole blade was covered by blue fire. When it touched the body of the esprit it froze a small region around the scratch. 'And now burn!'

"ARGH!" – To land the next hit he just let the esprit impale his left shoulder. On rapiers' point lit up a small purple fire and Alex stabbed the frozen area.

The area he stabbed was more brittle due to [Freeze I] which was not just a normal cold fire but a slightly corrosive type of cold energy.

With a cracking sound the rapiers' blade went deep inside the golden body of the esprit.

"BURN!!" – Screamed Alex and poured energy into the fire.

The monster let out some sound and tried to back off – "Bzzzzbrrrr…" – A thorny-looking rune flashed once on its smooth body.

Alexanders' body felt very weak and began falling – "Wha…!? – A quick closer examination made the situation clear. – "Want to drain my energy?!"

Indeed, through the spike still stuck into his shoulder, he could feel his energy being quickly drained.

"EAT THIS!"

'[Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I] – Burn! – [Freeze I]'

He started stabbing the already opened wound on the monsters' body.

With every hit, the esprits' buzzing sounds became quieter and, in the end, its body fell on the ground, lifeless.

'Finally dead…that was dangerous.' He stored the body. – "It's gold though…"

After burning it so many times Alex acquired something called [Divine I] but he could feel that it was different from [Freeze I].

This new energy was somehow incomplete and when he tried to use it only a few parts of his normally purple fire became golden colored.

[…]

"D*MN IT ALL!" – Roared James. 'Of all possible enemies, I had to get these guys!'

In front of him were three mutated esprits. These weren't just deformed lumps but were slightly similar to spiders with six legs and three wolf-like heads where the chelicerae were supposed to be.

"Shhreeee."

Three identical earth spikes went his way.

This was James' main point of frustration. These guys were completely immune to his element, lightning. He obviously could have just smashed them just with the impact of his lightning-speeded body but until now he still didn't manage to one-shot them.

'[Flash Crash]'

His massive body soared in the air, covered by electric currents, and suddenly sped up a hundredfold down towards the spiders.

*BRROOOOOMMM*

"F*CK!" – He cursed. Just before the crash, two spiders bombarded him with [Heavy Earth Spikes] and deviated his course.

Even though he created a noticeable crater, James only managed to damage one of the enemies, and the other two already half-healed it.

Captain of the Cataclysm also wasn't happy with the enemy he decided to fight. 'That was embarrassing…'

*15 minutes ago*

…"SNOW! LET'S GO!" – Roared Rayan and flew like a flaming meteor towards the enemy.

Vice-captain followed behind.

He wanted to crush immediately the enemy, so he directly punched it. Midway his fist was set ablaze.

'[Flaming Punch]' – He wasn't very original with names for his techniques.

"Bzzzbzzzzbzzzz." – Rayan suddenly felt something very strange. His half-extended right arm was heavily pushed down while the right shoulder was pushed in the opposite direction. *CRACK*

"CAREFUL, CAPTAIN!" – Snows' hand pulled him back. – "This will be tricky…"

"Yeah." Rayans' face became serious, and he took out a one-handed flail. It had nine chains each ending with a small claw.

"Ignite." – The flail became alive as he poured his energy inside of it. – "Let's go."

Snow nodded and sent an energy slash towards the esprit.

"BZZZZZZZBBZ."

The slash flew up in the sky completely missing its target but at the same moment from nine different directions appeared flaming chains of the flail.

"Bzz." All of them smashed on the ground.

'Attacking from multiple angles doesn't work…'Rayan frowned. 'Have to use this…'

'[Self-Ignite]'

His hair started glowing white and floating, while the rest of the body was clad in white flames. – "Back of Snow."

Captain of Cataclysm disappeared from his position only to reappear right in front of the enemy. He immediately felt terrifying pressure.

His flesh was directly ripped from the bones which in turn were also crushed. But a silhouette made from fire of where his body parts were supposed to be, remained.

In one second his whole body was destroyed.

'[Flaming Punch]' Inside the flames his body reappeared and was crushed again and then was recreated again. The punch connected.

"BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ."

Esprit staggered and a web of red crakes covered its whole geometrical body. Runes dimmed. – "…bzzb..bzz…bzbbbzzz."

"Just die." – Said Rayan and hit the second time. The runes flashed, right in front of the descending punch appeared 5 centimeters large black sphere. Rayans' pupils shrank to the size of a needle. His left hand twitched, and the flail chains caught Snow who was near, and tossed him away.

His punch touched the sphere.

A scary suction force erupted from it. 'A black hole indeed.' Sighed inwardly Rayan as his whole body was quickly broken and compressed together with his enemy into a single mass point.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" – Screamed Snow who saw this.

He fell to his knees. Some tears fell on the ground.

"Get me some new clothes, Snow." – A familiar voice suddenly said to him. Rayan reappeared from a blaze of fire. He was completely ok but nȧkėd.

'That was embarrassing…' He thought while his Vice-captain was smiling stupidly. 'Where was no way this small-*ss black hole could break by ignition.'

In another place, James was grinning evilly. Two spider-like esprits were behind him, burned to the crisp. The third one was trying to heal its broken legs while crawling away from the fat man.

'How didn't I think about it before! I forgot how super awesome and strong I actually am.' James was self-prizing shamelessly. 'Even though element suppression is a thing, it's not an absolute!'

"Hahahaha."

'Like water extinguishes fire, enough fire can also evaporate water.'

He concentrated an unholy amount of electricity in his right hand and just touched the third spider.

"SHHREEEE" - The creature screeched for the last time.

Only a chunk of coal remained.
