Chapter 229 - Oasis 21 Again

Oasis 21,she's finally there again.

Yanee looked around, and her eye caught the sight of the café where her heart broke years ago. However, the expected ache in her ċhėst never came.

Oh.

It was as if she was just looking at an ordinary café that had nothing to do with her. Even when memories of that day flooded her mind, she didn't feel anything. Eventually, the corner of her mouth curved into a smile, and she felt a strong arm hook her waist and pulled her close.

"What's the matter? Why did you stop walking?" Tohru asked.

Yanee shook her head. Although she knew that Tohru knew the connection between her and the place, she didn't want to mention it. It's not because it still affected her, but because she realized earlier that it didn't matter anymore. She felt nothing.

"Do you think Big Sis is done shopping?" she asked instead and Tohru chuckled.

They had finished their meal with their parents and were on their way to the expo below the mall. But Marian saw a boutique selling baby clothes and she urged the others to go ahead to the expo first. Jae and Yunho accompanied her to the shop, while Yanee and Tohru guided their parents to the expo place and returned to the boutique for the others.

"Do you think my sister will finish shopping if someone doesn't drag her out of the shop? Why do you think Big Bro Yunho and Big Sis Jae followed her?" he asked back in amusement, and the imagery it brought her made her laugh.

She had to silently agree that Marian seemed to be the shopaholic type of girl.

"To stop her from over shopping?" she asked, and laughed when she realized she answered correctly.

"And to carry the bags for her," Tohru added with a grin, and he took her hand and tugged her towards the shops.

"Shonen Jump?" Yanee asked in surprise as Tohru guided her to the comic and anime shop.

"I heard there are new merchandise for Attack on Titan," Tohru said as they entered the shop, and Yanee smiled.

She silently watched as Tohru seriously checked the items she mentioned and realized that like her, he was also an anime fan. She had always hidden this thing from her colleagues and her ex, because there's a bad misconception about people who liked anime and comics. But her future husband was already like this, and so she felt free. When Tohru asked her to pick things she liked, she didn't hesitate.

"You can go and check other the shop next door while I pay for these things," he said, indicating the Ghibli Store next door, the one she liked.

"Are you sure?" she asked and Tohru smiled at her gently.

"Of course. Big Sis will still take a while to finish her shopping. Go on ahead and check out things you like and I'll follow you after I finish here."

Without further ado, Yanee happily did as Tohru suggested and went out to go next door. However, as soon as she stepped out of the shop, she nearly bumped into someone.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" an angry female voice scolded and Yanee immediately apologized although she didn't really bump into the other.

"It's you!" the woman interjected as soon as she saw Yanee's face.

At first she was surprised. Then her gaze turned dark as a scornful smile appeared on her face. She was not that pretty even if her skin was very fair. The sinister expression on her face made her look like an angry radish.

"Why, if it isn't Ms. Yanee Lee," the woman who Yanee wanted to see the least greeted. "What are you doing back in Nagoya? You even had the gall to show up here."

Yanee raised a brow. The radish spoke as if she had been banished. She had the gall to show up? Of course!

"Why not?" she countered just as another person she didn't want to see showed up.

And this one was more irritating than the radish…

"Yanee," her ex, Shimizu Kyo greeted her as if nothing happened.

Shameless. The radish asked if she had the gall to show up, but she was amazed how this guy still had the gall to show his face to her— in front of his fiancée too! But of course, she was not as shameless as these two, and so she snorted, and was about to leave for the Ghibli store, but the radish was not done with her yet.

"How rude! Don't you know how to greet people?"

Yanee raised a brow. "I'm not obliged to talk to people I dislike."

"Oh, the last time I checked you liked my man very much." The bitch just wouldn't stop.

Yanee turned to her with a mocking expression. "Oh? The last time I checked I dumped your man after finding out he's a two-timing scumbag. Didn't you know how he still wouldn't let go of me after that because he only likes your family business and not you?"

She took pŀėȧsurė how the radish's face turned purple in anger. Of course the girl knew about this. She was present at the banquet where her ex accused her of lying to him when he found out she was a second generation heiress— richer than the radish he planned to marry.

Shimizu Kyo's face darkened. Because of that incident, his engagement to the radish was nearly canceled. Still, regardless that they would wed or not, it's no longer Yanee's business. She just didn't want to get dissed when she was not at fault.

She didn't want to fight with the woman because she was also a victim. But if she wouldn't let her off, Yanee wouldn't mind striking back. She was not argumentative but she's not a doormat either.

"Enough!" Kyo said, and the radish looked more displeased but didn't say a word. "Yanee, she just greeted you. You didn't have to be so abrasive."

Yanee was surprised. Shameless. She had no idea how this couple's IQ worked. It was as if the confrontation was her idea.

"It was your bitch who started barking out of nowhere. How dare you put the blame on my wife?" a cold voice suddenly spoke from behind Yanee, and she felt relaxed as she was suddenly pulled against a firm ċhėst.

Everything would be fine.. Tohru was here.
