The elevator door opened but sadly, it wasn't the lobby. Someone came in. I looked up to see who walked in because who wouldn't do that? When I saw Marcus walked in, my whole face scrunched up. How the hell does he found out I was staying here. He grabbed my hand tight, not tight enough to break it, but tight enough to frighten me. He came gliding into the elevator looking handsome in a suit and tie, his hair a little ruffled.

"Marcus!" I cried out, feigning shock. "You're hurting me. Let me go..." I shouted at him, my wrist getting painful by his hold. I could only hear the rapid beating of my heart in my ears for a while. "Ruby, can I talk to you?" He said, his voice twisted in anger. "Now you want to talk?" I asked. "Because if I recall, I have told you many times, I never talk to you again." Marcus narrowed his eyes. "I'm not kidding. I need to talk to you. Now."

Thank god the doors opened. What was I good at? Running. I ran away as fast as I could and never looked back. "Ruby..!" I heard him yell out for me. I heard him following me. His footsteps were close by. Someone grabbed me and I jumped from the shock. "Ruby? Ruby, are you alright?" Lucas said. "What're trying to hide? He asked.

"Mr Huang, please go." Lucas instructed dangerously calm. "Lucas look, I need to speak to him..." This made Marcus fume. "Oh yeah?" Even though, I know that I can't be avoiding him all the times. I have to faced him someday and I turned to him. "What do you want.. Marc? Would you like to explain yourself?"

This shut Marcus up. He seemed so angry and dangerous right now, to the fact, I'm too scared to look at him. "What the hell are you doing with him?" Marcus asked. "Excuse me?" I called out. "Ruby... I..." Are you with him?" He's now staring at Lucas, anger in his face. "What if I do! What has it gonna do with you? We're separated and I can be with anyone, I want. And I don't know why it's such a big deal. If you're pissed at me, you shouldn't care about what I do." For a moment, silence's in the air.

Marcus later said. "I care about you and I don't want you getting hurt." "Really?" I asked. "Because just few months ago, you have guts to betrayed me. And now you care about me?" This was so frustrating! "I never stop loving you, Ruby." Marcus replied. "Really? I don't think so... Do you hell knows those months, how I get through. Just one betrayal Marc, you destroy me." I sighed, deciding it was time to come clean with him.

"So that why, you didn't want to keep in touch with me. You didn't give me a chance to explain. Now, you giving me a death notice. Aren't you fair to me?" He was extremely mad. After few minutes of silent. "Ruby.. I don't want to lost you again, just because one stupid mistake... I never love Lillian. I only love you. I want us to start all over again." He said and even though I was hoping that she would forgive me, part of me had doubt. 'We could likely still be friends, if I told her to keep in touch. Is it because of my stubbornness? At least, by this, I still can try to win her back.' I thought.

She didn't answer. She just continued glaring at me. "I apologized sweetheart. You think I don't feel bad for the way I treated you? I know that it's my fault that you're mad at me. I'm not blaming you at all. Can't you just forgive me?" Marcus spoke. Ruby's glare softened for a few moments before it went cold again. "No." She said. "I told you that I'll never forgive you. What you did hurt, a lot.. too much. I can't forgive you." With that, I heard a masculine huff and footsteps fading away. I guess I have won but the pains inside me sharpened, I started to sob.

"Are you okay?" Lucas asked, examining my eyes. I'm glad that I don't wear makeup or else it would've been everywhere. I nodded. "Yes, thank you. I feel safe when I'm with you." He smiled. "You're most definitely welcome." He hugged me after. "Why am I so lucky to have you?" I asked him. He kissed my forehead once again and c.a.r.e.s.sed my cheek. "Do you still want to follow me to the restaurant?" I nodded. "Yeah, I do." We quickly head back to our room, freshen up, change into a suitable neat dress code for our dinner appointment with B&T clients.
