One Piece Bounty Wars

Chapter 11 - The Dark Dark Fruit

As Jack read the article regarding the attack on the marines and the message spelled with the marine corpses, he decided to see how many berries he had colloected through his play time. Looking at his total balance of $438,260,000 berries brought a big shit eating grin that spread from ear to ear. That wasn't even counting the gold and jewels, or any items like the sh.i.p.s, it was just the berries. 'F.u.c.k yeah bitches!!' Jack shouted internally before going right to the Devil Fruit section and buying the Dark Dark Fruit for $300,000,000 berries. Seeing the rare Fruit appear inside his inventory, Jack ran back to his room so that he could take it out. As the fruit appeared in his hands, a paper appeared with it. Looking over the paper brought another smile to his face.

Dark Dark Fruit

It is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to create, control, and transform into darkness at will, making the user a Darkness Human. It allows the user to control darkness and its unique property of gravity. Unlike other Logia type fruit, user can't become intangable to avoid attacks, but it can absorb and heal attacks.

Basic Abiities

Black Hole: Spreads darkness over a large area and much like an actual black hole, swallows up anything the user chooses. When swallowed, the person or object is subjected to a large amount of gravity and crushed if the user so commands.

Liberation: Used following Black Hole, expels all of the destroyed remains of whatever the darkness had swallowed up at once. Can be used in any direction, and with the gravitation powers under the users Domain, can amplify force of projectiles.

Black Vortex: Extending one arm towards opponent or object, activates the gravity power of darkness to pull person/object into users grasp.

The ability to nullify the powers of other Devil Fruits:

Unlike the sea and seastone being only able to prevent Devil Fruit users from controlling their powers, and Armement Haki users being only able to bypass the defensive aspects such as a Logia's intangibility, the Darkness nullification is absolute, making it as though the Devil Fruit users had never gained their powers at all.

Must be touching target or something on the target. The power to nullify devil fruits, gives the user the ability to consume a second Devil Fruit, but the Dark Dark Fruit must be eaten first.

Beware, while the darkness also absorbs attacks, the user of the fruit is still vulnerable to attacks that do not pass through the darkness. If the user fails to absorb an attack in time, the user can be hurt like any other normal human being, but the pain will be amplified until it is nulled by user.

The power of Darkness comes with a coruptive nature. If user cannot tame and become one with Darkness, their souls will fall victim and they will lose their sanity.

Darkness swallows everything around it, even light itself can't escape. Its power is infinite, weaked only by users imagination.

When Jack finshed reading the paper he was left in a daze. This had answered some questions he already had about the fruit. Everyone always thought that it had the ability to take devil fruits from their hosts after Blackbeard took Whitebeards power from his corpse. Jack had already figured out how to have the Devil Fruit appear in a fruit that it was most compatible with, and knowing Blackbeards cunning, it probably wasn't that hard to get information on what the Tremor Tremor Fruit looked like and just keep the fruit it was compatible with tucked away in his darkness. Plus it was too broken. If it actually could then Blackbeard would have hunted everyone with a powerful Devil Fruit and stolen their power for his own subordinates making him unrivaled.

Jack was going to eat the fruit then and there, but the coruptive nature stopped him. He didn't want to accidentally kill everyone on the island if he couldn't control himself. Storing it back into his inventory along with the piece of paper, Jack decided to go into a little bit of seclusion to do this. While he was alone, Jack went into his inventory and sold the marine sh.i.p.s, and everything else that he couldn't really keep or sell in town. He kept all the gold and jewels, figuring he could get more for them from someone else. He also kept the mountain of weapons, the canons from the sh.i.p.s included. After selling everything he was back up to $396,800,000 berries, which was beautiful sight to behold. While selling stuff he spotted the notebook with the 2 Rokushiki Techniques in it. "Completely forgot about that." He mumbled to himself.

Looking in the shop, he searched for the Rokushiki manual. The manual appeared, but surprisingly there was also each technique sold individually. The price for the full manual was $500,000,000 berrries, and each technique sold for $85,000,000. To get them all individually would cost $10,000,000 berries more, but because he already had two of them, he would save $160,000,000 berries if he just bought the remaining 4 individually. Moonwalk was definately one that he would buy first. In the anime CP9 used it a little in combat, but to Jack it seemed they weren't using it to it's full potential. Anyway he had decided to hold off on buying it until he got to somewhere he could train privately.

Looking into his inventory, Jack pulled out a map of East Blue. Browsing through places that would be good training grounds, an island jumped out at him. He had read about this island, and not only was it deserted, for now anyway, but there was something on that island that he wanted extremely bad. Looking in the shop he found the item in question. Looking at the price, he was determined to go there and find it himself, rather than pay $275,000,000 berries for it. Making his way through town, he found some merchants and managed to pawn off lots of his "inherited" gold for a tidy sum. He still had a decent size in his inventory becuase he didn't want the marines coming around asking the wrong questions. For the rest of the day Jack went from shop to shop, stocking up on everything he would need for months, as he wasn't too sure how long his training would take, but he didn't want to keep using his own shop if he didn't have to.

The next day Jack went to the docks and pulled his little boat out of his inventory and set sail. While sailing Jack came across a few pirates, and much like the first group of people he met in this world, their fates were grim. He had passed a few merchant sh.i.p.s and some transport sh.i.p.s, but they were friendly so he didn't bother with them. After 6 days of sailing he saw a marine ship coming towards him. "Oh great!! More dogs to deal with!!" Jack said angrily to no one in particular. When the ship finally pulled up, a man in a marine uniform jumped down and landed on his little boat rocking it wildly. When the ship finally settled itself, a fuming Jack marched over to the moron and without any warning kicked the man right square in the d.i.c.k. The marine dropped to his knees hard, his hands instictively holding his now broken and bleeding member. "YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH!!! YOU ALMOST SANK MY BOAT!!" Jack roared at the once man. There was shouting atop the big marine vessal, but Jack couldn't hear what was being said. Picking up the marine by his throat, Jack brought him up to eye level. "You stuck up cunts think that just because you wear the uniform that you can do whatever you want!! Well I'm not gonna take ur shit." Jack said venomously. Looking up to a few angry looking soldiers, Jack smirked to them before throwing the marine at the side of the ship as hard as he could, causing quite the splat, while at the same time making their ship start rocking a bit. To everyone watching it was what they thought would happen when someone steps on a bug, only this time the bug flew into the shoe.

While all of the marines were stupidly looking at the blood stain that was once their comrade, Jack took that moment to jump aboard their ship. The second he landed he pulled out his weapons and started killing with a passion. "Enemy Attack!!" Someone shouted before his body was severed in two. It didn't take long before everyone in sight was either stabbed, dismembered, shot, or smashed to death. Sending his Haki throughout the ship, Jack found that there were two men and a woman alive in the prison cells of the ship, and that there was still four marine soldiers hiding in the storage compartment. Making his way down he released his Conqueror's Haki, directing it only at the soldiers that were hiding. Once he saw them drop to the ground he made his way to the prison cells. When the three people saw a man carrying a bloody sword enter the cell block, the two men had hopeful expressions, while the woman paled. They had all heard the fighting on the main deck and they came to the conclusion that the marines were fighting with pirates. The men could possibly join with pirates, but usually pirates only had one use for a woman. "Now what do we have here?" Jack said aloud, not really to any of them in particular.
