Chapter 33 - The Black Pearl

{A.N. I'm back people!! Vacation is over so I am back to writing again. I would like to point out that the release schedule has changed from Monday-Friday to whenever I feel like it because writing after work can be tiring, but I will continue to release as often as I can.

P.S. If you drop this book then don't tell me just do it, I don't care. Anyway enjoy the chappy!}

When Jack got to the docks he found an empty port, which wasn't easy considering how busy Foosha had gotten recently. With a wave of his hand, Jack watched as his creation was brought form.

The sight of the Pearl brought a tear to Jack's eye as he marveled at how magnificent the ship turned out. It was easily the size of a marine battle ship, but the colour was different. Jack jumped on board the mighty ship and took in the sights first hand.

He climbed to the crowsnest, but unlike most sh.i.p.s the crowsnest for the Pearl was more like the Sunny. Instead of a basket it was a small circular room with reinforced glass windows all around so someone could keep watch in comfort.

The room was fairly big at around 5 meters in diameter and had a small swivel chair inside so whoever was here wouldn't have to stand all the time, but could still look in every direction.

After inspecting the crowsnest Jack made his way down to the to the deck and went inside to look at the rooms. The first place he checked out was the Control room, which basically was where the ship wheel was located.

Lots of people liked to have the wheel be outside, but Jack didn't like that idea. He designed it so you were looking out a giant glass window while steering, and that you could lock the wheel in place so that you wouldn't need someone to constantly be holding the ship on course.

There were shelfs filled with eternal log poses to most countries in the Grand Line, regular log poses, and maps of the four Blue Sea's. There was also a big chair behind the wheel so it would be more like driving the ship, which suited the Pearl because the big chair was also a catalyst for Jack's power which would direct it down to the back of the ship to a thruster so Jack could propel the ship at greater speeds.

Another interesting thing to note about the ship was how it also had Sea Stone implanted underneath it so that it could safely travel though the Calm Belt like the marines had done.

Next he went to the kitchen, which had a bar as well as a small dining area attached to it. The kitchen was fully furnished with a massive fridge, stove, sink, cabinets filled with all the pots, pans, spices and other essential things.

The bar had a wall filled with every kind of alcohol you could think of, and all of the bottles were secured so they wouldn't rattle or break while the ship was sailing over rough waters, but they were all clearly visible so you could easily find whatever drink you were looking for.

The dining area wasn't anything special, only having 3 tables that could each sit 10 people with chairs around them. Jacked walked through a door that was to the side of the kitchen that led to the aquarium.

Jack had liked Franky's idea of having fresh seafood all the time, plus it had the added effect of being a beautiful room to relax in. There weren't any fish in it yet because it would be going back into his inventory until he finally decided to set sail.

The bedrooms were next to be inspected. Jack looked at the two big rooms that each had 8 single beds that hung from the ceiling. They hung down so they would stay level under all circ.u.mstances unless the ship was upside down, this was so someone wouldn't fall over while they were sleeping.

There were trunks by each bed for people to store their belongings with their own set of locks and keys. As trusting as Jack would be of his crew, he still thought there was no harm in a little privacy.

Going to the individual rooms, Jack checked them over as well. They all had big beds bolted to the floor and hammocks off to the side. Jack did this because you just couldn't beat a comfortable bed sometimes, but if they were in a storm they might want to be in the hammock to keep stable and not fall off.

There was also a large closet with lots of storage shelves and a trunk at the foot of each bed. Each of the ten individual rooms were the same, but the Captain's room was a little different.

The captains quarters was a little bigger than the individual rooms, although it hand many similarities. It had the bed and hammock, but it also had a couch to relax on with a really fancy leather chair. There was also a work desk and a small book shelf so Jack could store his own books.

Another perk was it also had it's own bathroom that had a toilet, shower and tub and sink. There were two big bathrooms in the hallway next to all the bedrooms, one being for guys and the other for the girls, but Jack still wanted to be able to seclude himself whenever he needed to.

After inspecting the bedrooms and all the bathrooms Jack made his way down to the next floor. He was particularly proud of this next room, so walking through the doorway it was understandable why he had an ear to ear smile.

Taking in the sight around him he got all giddy inside as he sat down in one of the leather chairs. This room was his library with rows upon rows of books all in there own sections. There were some tables that you could sit at, but there was also 3 couches and 10 big comfy reclining leather chairs.

Jack made sure to put a 'NO FOOD/DRINK' sign on the door because he didn't want anything in here to be hurt by someone's careless actions. The next room Jack went to was the medical ward, which had 4 beds off to the side and two desks in a corner.

There was also a small lab that could be used to create some medical elixirs, but Jack knew nothing about medical stuff so he would leave that for later. There were lots of shelfs with bandages, medical tools and medical books. Anything a doctor would need he could buy from his shop, but these were the things he knew would be needed. 'I also need a doctor' Jack thought as he walked out of the room.

There was a training room filled with weights and other training equipment. There were 3 treadmills so that if someone wanted to go for a run they wouldn't need to run on deck and disturb everyone. The whole training room was sound proofed and reinforced dozens of times over.

Jack wasn't taking any chances with this room, so lots of the extra structure was lightweight metal that was designed for this. Finding everything to his liking, Jack made his way to the lower floors. Most of it was storage, but there were some empty rooms that could be converted into something else if needed.

Jack stored a large quantity of Adam's wood down below deck for ship repair if it ever needed it, and a few crates of dried food. There wasn't anything else in particular that Jack could think of at the moment so he made his way back above deck where he saw most of the villagers looking at the ship in awe.

'That's right!! Marvel at her beauty!!' Jack proudly shouted internally. Looking into the crowd he spotted Luke and Smoker making their way towards the ship. Nami, Nojiko and Tashigi were already standing at the front of the crowd with Makino, they're facial expressions were just as awed as the rest of the villagers.

Jack tossed down a plank so his crew and Makino could easily make their way on board to have a look. "Where did you get this ship?!" Nami asked with wide eyes as she inspected the ship.

Jack smiled as everyone looked towards him as he said, "I designed this ship, but as for who built it, lets just say a divine shipwright. Come let me give you all the tour and show you your rooms." Jack showed them everything which only brought more surprised noises from everyone.

When they got to the bedrooms everyone started to argue about which room they wanted, and Jack made sure to point out the bathrooms and that one was for the guys and one for the girls. He even had it written on the doors so that no one could mistake it.

"Nami, as soon as you pick your room I can put all of the navigational tools you will need for your own personal use, but for the most part everything for the ship will be in the control room." Jack said to Nami, whose face lit up with joy at those words.

Nami pointed to the Captain's quarters and started to make her way to the door, but was grabbed and pulled away by Jack. "This is my room so find somewhere else." Jack said as he placed himself in front of the door to his room.

Luke picked the room next to Jack's, while Smoker and Tashigi picked rooms beside each other a few doors down. Nami and Nojiko did the same and picked rooms beside each other, but surprisingly Nojiko picked the room across the hall from Luke so she was also next door to Jack.

As soon as everyone claimed their rooms Jack placed all of their belongings in them, but added a few extra things to Nami's room. Next they went to the library and Jack showed off all of the books, also making sure to point out the sign on the door about the food and drink.

He also told them that there was no smoking in here as well, although he mainly said that to Smoker. Everyone was looking through the books and Jack pointed out the training manuals, history section, medical books and even a few books on Devil Fruits.

"If that you want to take any books out of here you will have to write them down at the desk over in the corner. If you lose or destroy any of my books you will be responsible for paying me back." Jack said as he shot a glare to each person here. Jack then said they could look through the books later, but for now he would continue the tour.

The training room made Luke and Tashigi smile, but it brought groans from Nami and Nojiko. "Oh quit your bitching! You won't survive in this world if you're not strong enough to protect yourself!!" Luke reprimanded them. After showing them the rest of the ship they all made their way back above to the deck.

When they got back to the top Jack showed them all to the control room, which brought stars to Nami's eyes. "I've never seen maps like these before!! And what are those?!!" Nami said as she saw the eternal log poses and the regular log poses. "In the Grand Line compasses don't work, so you have to use log poses to get to where you want to go." Jack said as he held up a log pose with only one needle.

"The Log Pose functions by recording the magnetic wave of an island in the Grand Line, and points to that island so the user can travel there. Once on an island for the required amount of time, the recording of the magnetic wave resets, and the needle starts pointing toward the next island. The time it takes to lock onto the magnetic waves of the next island varies from island to island so you better be prepared."

Nami looked over the log pose with wide eyed fascination as Jack reached over for a different log pose with three needles on it.

"The standard Log Pose is not suitable for sailing in the New World, which is the second half of the Grand Line, due to the fact that some islands change, or completely hide their magnetic fields at random, which may leave a crew stranded if they rely on Log Pose with only a single needle. To navigate safely through the New World, crews need to have a Log Pose with three needles. Each needle records the magnetism of one of three different islands simultaneously, as opposed to the Paradise Log Pose, which only records the magnetic waves of one island at a time. The stability of the needle reflects the stability of the island's magnetic field; if the needle is displaying erratic movement, it means that the island's magnetism is unstable and possibly more dangerous." Jack said as he held out the three needle pose to her.

Next he walked over to a case that was filled with Log Poses that were in hour glass like containers and pulled one from the case and showed it to Nami. "This is an Eternal Pose. It is a special type of compass used in the Grand Line. Like a Log Pose, it records the special magnetic waves of a certain island within the Grand Line, allowing the user to know which way to go to arrive at their destination. Unlike a Log Pose, which resets its recordings on new islands, an Eternal Pose always points to the same island, no matter how long it stays elsewhere. With these you don't need to wait for the log pose to reset and you could head in a straight line to your destination if you were in a hurry or something."

After finishing his lecture Jack turned to look at everyone as he spoke, "You will all need to read up on the Grand Line and what kind of things to expect. If we get separated I don't want you all to be helpless." When he finished speaking his words he pulled out a white piece of paper and ripped 6 small pieces from it and gave one to each member of the his crew and one to Makino.

"This is a Vivre Card, also known as the paper of life. A Vivre Card is made from part of a person's fingernail which is then made into paper. It is completely water and fireproof but can be torn and given to someone so they can find you. The torn pieces will point to and move towards each other no matter where they are in the world, allowing one to always be able to tell in which direction the other person is. True to the name "paper of life", Vivre Cards also display the life force of their owner. If the life force of the person who gave the Vivre Card is disappearing, the card will begin to burn. It will grow back to its original size if the person recovers, but disappears completely if the person dies."

At his words everyone, including Smoker was shocked stupid. While they were all processing his words he added, "This Vivre Card is mine, so you will always be able to find me, and I will be able to find you so don't lose it." Everyone nodded and then Nojiko asked, "Where did you get this?"

Her curiosity was shared by everyone. "They create them in the New World. You might be able to find someone who makes them in the first half of the Grand Line, but I'm not sure. I got mine from a guardian who brought me here so I can't tell you where exactly to get them." Answered Jack honestly.

"Alright then, you have looked around enough. It's time we get some serious training done, and you have slacked off too much already." Jack said as he ushered them outside. "Have you all finished reading the manuals?" Jack asked as he looked towards Smoker.

Everyone gave a nod, but Smoker added "I might need to go back to them for reference, but I have a good understanding for the most part." Everyone else nodded the same. "That's alright. For now I'm gonna be teaching you all Observation Haki first. Once you get it, the other two become easier." Jack said as he started making his way off the ship.

His words brought a confused look to Tashigi as she asked, "Other two? Isn't there only Observation Haki and Armement Haki?"

Jack didn't stop walking as he said, "There is a third Haki, but it is so rare for someone to be able to use it that I didn't bring it out. The odds for someone being able to use it is one in several million, but I can use it, and I'm 70% sure that Luke can use it. As for the rest of you only time will tell." Everyone but Luke had wide eyes, especially Smoker. He knew about Conqueror's Haki, but didn't think that Jack would be able to use it.

When everyone got off the ship Jack stored it back into his inventory before he made his way back to Makino's bar to collect all of the manuals. Everyone walked with Jack to the secluded area they were in this morning and Jack had them all sit down with blindfolds around their eyes so they couldn't see.

"What I want you all to do is look inside yourself and try and feel the energy of your Will." After saying this, Jack sent a wave of his Conqueror's Haki inside all of them, but unlike fear and dread he tried to make them feel at ease.

"Your Will is always on guard trying to protect your mind from an outside force, so try and sense it as it fights against mine." Jack said as he started to dominate their very spirit with his Will. When it looked as though they couldn't handle it he stopped to give them all a chance to recover.

Luke had already awakened his Observation Haki and could use it to a great degree, but all that meant to Jack was more beatings. Nami was the first to be able to feel her Haki, but she couldn't make it move to how she wanted it to. After 3 hours the sun was going down and Jack called it quits for the day.

Everyone could now feel the Haki/Will inside of them, but only Luke, Smoker and Nami could make it move. Luke being further along in his training was beaten with a stick for most of the time while the others only got a few bumps and bruises. "Eat and get some rest. Tomorrow we are gonna start your training regimen in earnest." Jack said as he walked into Makino's bar to get some food.

The next few days were all the same. They would wake up and start running, then weights, and weapon training, and then to the Haki's. After about 5 days of training a few sh.i.p.s could be seen approaching the docks with the Revolutionary flag. Dragon had once again come in person to meet Jack, only this time Jack wasn't wearing his mask.

"I always thought that the leader of the Revolutionary Army would be far too busy with more important matters, yet you come and see me all the time." Jack said with a big smile on his face as he greeted Dragon.

"You're definitely a lot younger than I would have guessed based on your strength alone." Dragon said as he shook Jack's hand. "So Prime, how have things been going for the Association?" Dragon asked curiously.

"Just call me Jack. As for the Association, everything is going great. I already got a branch set up in Cocoyasi Village and here, but the people that will be in charge of training and recruitment are still learning stuff. I'm in the educational phase right now, and I'm definitely going for quality over quantity. I already got 42 members from the former slaves that want to join and five personal crew members." Jack stated proudly.

Dragon looked over the five people that were standing a small distance away from them and smiled when he saw Smoker. Jack called everyone over to meet Dragon. At first Nami, Nojiko, and Tashigi were terrified when they learned who the man was, Luke didn't really care one way or another, while Smoker remained alert.

When Jack saw how they reacted he laughed for a few seconds before he said, "Stop being so dramatic. Dragon here might be labeled the worlds worst criminal, but I assure you that he is a good person who has been doing just what we're doing, freeing slaves and destroying the Government."

The girls all visibly relaxed a bit, but you could tell they were still a bit tense. "So what do you need me to do?" Dragon asked Jack curiously. Jack gestured for Dragon to follow him as he walked towards where the former slaves were as he spoke,

"There are around 200 people or so that want to be taken back to certain places. Most of them want to stay here and start a new life, so that's good. I also have a few crates of weapons for ya, and if you want I can let you have someone copy down the Rokushiki manuals for training."

"That would be very much appreciated. We will need to stock up on supplies anyway, so I can have someone copy the manual while we get everything in order." Dragon said respectively. Jack brought out the manuals and put them on a table in the bar and let one of Dragon's men come over and take pictures of each page so they could print them at a later time.

Jack helped everyone that wanted to go with Dragon get organized and even helped get supplies for him. After taking all of the crates of weapons below deck, Jack went back to Makino's bar to talk with Dragon more privately.

"So what are your next plans?" Dragon asked as he took a sip of beer. Jack had to take a few seconds to organize his thoughts before he said, "First I will take maybe a year or two to train up all of the members I have here, while also traveling around East Blue for experience fighting pirates and other criminals. Then I want to send 5 groups of seven out to the other islands where they can recruit and train people, while a group of seven stays here. I want this place to be sort of a HQ for East Blue, but eventually all of the Blue's will have an HQ. The HQ will be where you go for training, but eventually I want to have the higher ups create their own guilds. It's all a work in progress for now, but it will take off in a few years."

Dragon was happy to hear that Jack wouldn't be rushing into danger and that he was taking his time. "I'm glad to hear it. If I find anything that you need to know about then I'll let ya know." Dragon said as he stood from his seat. The guy that was taking the pictures of the Rokushiki books walked over and placed them on the table, then they shook hands and Dragon made his way back to his sh.i.p.s.

Before Dragon jumped aboard he tossed Jack a newspaper. "I don't know if you ever bothered to check it, but here's what the world was told of Tequila Wolf" Dragon said with a smile as he jumped onto the ship and they started to sail away.

The headline was "Revolutionaries Strike" It went on to say how the Revolutionaries attacked and killed all of the government workers and freed the slaves. There was some other crap about how the Government was corrupt and that this was just the beginning.

"Well this ain't too bad!" Jack said as he showed Smoker the paper. "Hopefully with this the government won't be searching for us, but the Revolutionaries." Jack added with a smile. Smoker read the paper and he also smiled as he said, "I guess it's nice to have connections in the New Paper who spin the story in our favor instead of the Government."

Everyone around nodded their head's in agreement. "Now come on back to training!!" Jack shouted evilly which made Smoker's smile drop immediately. "*Sigh* We're all gonna die..." Smoker said tiredly as he turned and made his way back to the field with the others.
