A few hours later...

Rosinante was still playing with Renji but this time, Renji was riding on his back while moving around the office.

"Damn, kids really have a lot of energy don't they?" Garp said while smiling.

"Yeah, they've been playing for hours now. Well we can't really blame them, Rosinante didn't have other kids to keep him company. With the experiences he had with his brother, I'm sure the kid craved for someone to play around with." Sengoku said with a kind smile.

"You're starting to get a hang of the grandfather role huh?" Garp said teasingly.

"Yeah, it doesn't seem so hard afterall. With Rosinante liking kids and a cute sensible grandson, I'm sure everything will turn out fine. Sengoku said while smirking.

(Little did he know that in the future, Renji's endeavors will be the cause for a lot of his headaches and gray hair...)

While they were talking there was a sudden knock on the door.

"Who is it? Come in." Sengoku said with a calm tone.

The door opened and in came a woman wearing a vice admiral coat.

Sengoku and Garp smiled. It was Vice Admiral Tsuru, one of their good friends.

"Oh you're here! Come, come meet my grandson! He's Renji! He is so adorable and smart!" Sengoku said while excitedly bragging.

"Here he goes again." Garp says with a grin.

Sengoku took Renji away from playing so suddenly which made the boy desperately try to reach out to go back, when he was about to cry he was faced with Tsuru.

=================================

The boy looked at her while teary eyed, Tsuru kindly smiled at the boy. As Sengoku was right, he was indeed adorable. Then the boy's eyes suddenly gleamed and tried to reached out to her, so she carried the boy in her arms.

"When people were gossiping about their admiral returning with a baby, I thought you had adopted another one, seeing you so smug and excited means this cute little boy is your legitimate grandson isn't he?" Tsuru asked with a smile.

Before Sengoku can answer Garp interjected.

"Yes HAHAHAHA! He actually knocked up that girl with a big bust in Birka! They had a daughter and he didn't even kn-" before Garp can finish Sengoku smacked him in the head. Sengoku headlocked Garp, while the latter was only laughing in amus.e.m.e.nt.

Tsuru looked at the boy she was carrying. He was looking at her with his eyes gleaming. She smiled at him kindly in which made the boy happier. He suddenly hugged her and closed his eyes while smiling.

"Oh he warmed up to her this fast?" Garp said with amus.e.m.e.nt.

"Yeah, Maybe he sees his grandma within her." Sengoku says with a smile.

"Why? Did something happen to his grandmother?" Tsuru asked inquiringly.

Sengoku let go of Garp and told her the full story....

"So you're his only family left huh?" Tsuru asked while stroking the boy's head.

"Yes, and I owe them a lot. The only way I can make it up to them is to raise him safe and healthy." Sengoku said with a sad smile.

"I'll help you!" Rosinante interjected with a smile.

"Yes, you're a responsible boy aren't you?" Sengoku said while ruffling Rosinante's hair.

"Yeah! I'll take care of him and play with him always!" Rosinante said excitedly.

"Cheeky kid. I'm here too you know?" Garp said while smiling.

"You? How are you supposed to help? You better not corrupt my grandson Garp!" Sengoku said while glaring sharply. Garp just laughed at him.

"You better leave him with me more, your idiotic traits might rub off on the boy. Look at him so cute, he'll grow up to be a handsome young man." Tsuru said with a heartwarming smile.

"Of course he is! He's my grandson afterall!" Sengoku said proudly.

"Here he goes bragging again." Garp says as he picks his nose.

Renji fell asleep at Tsuru's arms while they were talking. Tsuru approached Rosinante and talked to him.

"Hey kid, how are you doing?" Tsuru said with a smile.

"I'm fine Tsuru-san." Rosinante said while smiling.

"You're 10 this year huh? It's been two years since you lived with this old fool. Are you planning on joining the marines?" Tsuru asked.

"Yes, I'm gonna start traning soon!" Rosinante answered excitedly.

"That's good, I hope you become a fine marine." Tsuru smiled kindly.

"Thank you Tsuru-san!" Rosinante replied with a grin.

"Well Sengoku, this boy came at the right time. The seas have been relatively calm since Garp's efforts with the "Rocks", you should enjoy these calm times with the kid. We don't know what might happen in the future." Tsuru said with a calm tone.

"Yeah! I'm gonna raise him to be an Admiral! Just like me!" Sengoku said proudly.

"Well he's got an admiral and the hero of the marines with him. With the both of you around I doubt he'd be mediocre." Tsuru said with a smirk.

"You're right!! Hahahaahahha!"

"Yeah I guess so. Hahaahahahaa!" Sengoku and Garp laughed while looking at each other smugly.

"Well I'm leaving, I got work to do. Here's the kid be careful not to wake him up." Tsuru said with a heartwarming smile.

"Thanks! make sure to be back and visit this kid. I'm sure he'll be looking for you." Sengoku replied with a grin.

"Yeah yeah." Tsuru said while waving her hand at them by the door.

"I'll be leaving too! I'll go read at my room!" Rosinante said at them.

"Okay, be sure to come and eat later."

Rosinante nods and leaves the room.

Sengoku put the kid down to sleep in the couch as there is no bed for him yet, then he and Garp sat down in the tea table to drink tea.
