One Piece Fan Fiction: Renji

Sengoku, Garp, and Tsuru spent time improving Renji's observation haki. After turning 4 his haki is almost battle ready, but due to the increasing activities of The Roger and Whitebeard pirates, Garp and Sengoku had to chase off their respective rivals. While Tsuru was off on missions as well, Rosinante was on Marine training. This left Renji alone most of the time, so he mostly just sits and plays toys in Sengoku's office.

But this one particular day he was so bored that he left the office and went down to the lower floors to go on a little adventure. During his lessons with Tsuru he learned that those blue lights he can see were auras of people, some glowed more brightly indicating their greater strength, but Renji a little kid was more interested in an aura that was so big it appeared like a small hill. His grandpa called them giants, he wanted to see one for himself. He read about them being scary and barbaric, but then he saw one aura that seemed gentle, so he decided to go towards it.

"Oh it's here!" Renji thinks as his eyes gleamed. He saw the sign that said "Commodore Jaguar D. Saul" written on the giant door. So he knocked on it as hard as he could.

Inside the door two commodores were sitting one slim tall man wearing a bandana and one giant with orange brown hair. It was Kuzan, the one who'll later be called Admiral Aokiji. Along with his good friend, Jaguar D. Saul, one of the more gentle giants. Jaguar had only been promoted to Commodore recently and they had finish building his office on the Lower floors.

"I see the HQ has a spacious office for Giant officers huh?" Kuzan says with a smirk.

"Dereshishishishishi! Yes, but Fleet Admiral Kong told me I would still use this office til I get promoted to rear admiral." Sa says while scratching his head.

"Well that's fine, Giants get promoted easily anyway. Congratulations! Now we're both commodores." Kuzan grins at him.

"Yeah! This deserves a celebration!" Saul said excitedly, he takes out some cups and alcohol for them to drink.

"Hey, I heard Admiral Zephyr is going to get married next month." Kuzan says after drinking.

"I heard about that too! Admiral Zephyr is a good guy! I'm so happy for him. Dereshishishi!" Saul says after drinking another cup.

"Let's go attend the wedding next month. Everyone is invi-" before Kuzan can finish they heard a small knock on the door.

"Oh? Who is it?" Saul asked inquiringly. But instead of someone going in, they only heard light knocking again. Saul went by the door and opened it. He saw a boy with white/silver hair staring at him with awe.

"Wow you're a giant!" Yelled the boy.

"Ohohoho.. What's a little kid doing here?" Kuzan says rather shocked. They both stared at the kid who was looking at Saul with gleaming eyes.

"Hello kid? Umm what's up?" Saul asked while scratching his head awkwardly.

"Hello Mr. Giant! You're so cool and huge! Can I ride your back?!" Renji asks excitedly.

"Oh it seems he's not afraid of you." Kuzan says with a smirk.

"What?! But I'm a big scary giant aren't you afraid I'll eat you?" Saul asks awkwardly trying to look scary with Kuzan snickering at the side.

"Yeah, I read giants are scary and mean. But but I saw your Aura! When I'm there at my grandpa's office, You're not like them!" Renji says excitedly.

"Aura? What do you mean by Aura?" Saul asks with a confused face.

"Hmm does he perhaps mean..." Kuzan murmurs while pondering.

"Yes Aura! My grandpa said it's called ummm ken- kembo- kenebo? I dunno.." Renji said while tilting his head in the side.

"Kenbonshuko?" Kuzan asks curiously.

"Yes, that's it! Kenbonshuko haki! Grandma Tsuru said I awakened it early! She said I was a genius!" Renji said while scratching his head shyly.

"Oh my. A little kid who has control of his own haki, you really are a genius. What's your name kid? And who's your grandpa?" Kuzan asks while drinking from his cup.

"My name is Renji! My grandpa's name is Sengoku!" Renji replies with a grin.

Kuzan spat out his drink at what the kid said with Saul's mouth hang wide open.

"Sengoku? Do you mean the admiral?" Saul asks with a shocked tone.

"Wait white haired kid.. why didn't we realize earlier?! A kid wouldn't be allowed on the upper floors of the HQ, he's Admiral Sengoku's Grandson!" Kuzan yells.

"Yeah! Yeah! Grandpa is an admiral! He said he has to go do his job." Renji said excitedly.

"Oh right, The admiral is currently pursuing the whitebeard pirates near the south blue." Kuzan says to Saul.

"So you're all alone? Huh kid?" Saul asks with a kind smile.

"Yeah, Garp and Grandma Tsuru is doing their jobs as well. Rosi is on marine training." Renji says sadly.

"Oh why don't you hang with us then? We don't have any thing to do right now. Here wait I have milk in my table, do you like milk?" Saul offers with a smile.

"Yeah! Milk is delicious and Grandma Tsuru says it will help your bones!" Renji says excitedly.

"Well kid, I'm Kuzan and the Giant you like here is Jaguar. We're both Commodores, and I'm actually under your grandfather." Kuzan says with a grin.

Renji uses his haki on Kuzan to see his Aura and he was shocked.

"Wow! Mr. Kuzan, you're strong! But not as strong as my grandpa though.." Renji says while grinning.

"Well of course. your grandpa is an admiral he's really strong! But you know Kuzan here is a rising star of the marines." Saul says while handing milk to Renji using his fingers.

"Rising star?" Renji asks.

"Yeah, he ate an ice devil fruit so he's practically an ice man!" Saul says with a laugh.

"Whoaaa, can you show me?! Please?! Please?!" Asks Renji while looking at Kuzan pleadingly.

Renji was looking at Kuzan with sparkling eyes which made him awkwardly agree. He picked up the glass of water on the side and threw the contents upwards. He then froze the water and caught it as it fell down.

"Wow!! That's so coool!" Replied Renji while clapping excitedly.

"Yeah, it's nothing much." Replied Kuzan but you can see a hint of pride in his face.

"Do more! Do more! Do more!" Renji said excitedly.

Kuzan found it hard to refuse so he continued to make an ice show for Renji. With Saul accompanying them while laughing at the side.
