One Piece: The Power System

Author Note: The Balrog Fruit was fused with the Hydrogen fruit, don't get it mixed up. I just wanted to let everyone know that. The first volume will also end at chapter 20, that is the last chapter for Volume 1.

Just like those years ago, it was once again just Rein, Luffy and Erica. The trio walked to the cliff where Sabo, Ace and all of them usually met to talk. This place had a nice breeze that would blow here every so often. Luffy sat down on the grass, Erica sat on the tree stump, while Rein leaned against a tree.

"Ace has finally gone out to sea, I can't wait to go out myself!" Luffy broke the silence, he grabbed the top of his hat and looked into the sky with a smile on his face.

"Yeah!" Rein spoke and then said slowly "I'm going out to sea once I turn sixteen, so in two more years, I'll be on my way." Erica looked at Rein silently, she didn't know that he was planning to leave so early.

"Eh! You're leaving at sixteen, hmm, I heard that seventeen is the best age to depart." Luffy looked at Rein and said.

"It is, you should leave at the time you were originally going to leave, which was seventeen." Luffy didn't think much of it and agreed that he still leave at his scheduled time.

"Erica, what about you, what will you do?" Luffy was wondering what Erica would do in all of this. What would she become in the future, would she stay on this island and do nothing or would she set out for an adventure like them?

Erica immediately looked at Rein upon hearing Luffy's question. "It's okay, Luffy. She'll be going out to sea with me. Later we'll become pirates as well but when we first start, I'll be a bounty hunter to earn some money and experience." Rein planned to build a crew while being a bounty hunter at the same time.

Erica's eyes opened wide, then she smiled and stood up. "Yes, I will go with you and we'll start as bounty hunters, then we'll be pirates!" Erica couldn't wait to start, but Rein wanted to leave two years later.

"How unfair, you already have your first crewmember! Rein, how about you and Erica join my crew as my first mates?" Luffy had asked this ridiculous question so many times toward Ace and Rein that it almost seemed normal.

"Haha, I'll join you if you can tell me how many times you've asked me that question." Luffy gasped and began to count with his fingers, he looked serious but what Rein heard next almost made him fall off the tree.

"A bazillion times, yeah, that's definitely it, a bazillion!"

Bonk!

Rein bonked Luffy over the head. "How can you even get that number by counting on your finger!?" Luffy only laughed but figured he got it wrong. Erica could only chuckle, she had never even heard of a bazillion before.

Soon, they left the cliff, even though they ate so much last night, they were now feeling hungry. Rein recalled Sabo and his brother Stelly, he would have to pay that little fellow a visit today! "You guys go catch some fish or something, I'll be back later." What he was about to do was going to cause a serious uproar, he was going to assassinate a noble. He already felt like he changed a few things when he used that time stone.

"Eh! Where are you going? We can come too!' Luffy turned as his eyes gleamed but then his stomach began to cry out. "Actually, let me eat first, then I'll go, hehe!" Rein shook his head and looked at Erica.

"You two can go hunt some food, what I need to do is a solo mission." Erica understood but Luffy was too hungry to go against what Rein had said, he had to eat first. Afterward, Luffy and Erica left and Rein walked off by himself towards Goa Kingdom.

He wasn't going to Goa Kingdom to kill him right away, if he wanted to assassinate someone, then the best time was at night. Black angel wings appeared on his back and he took to the sky when he saw that the coast was clear.

He flew near Gray Terminal which was devoid of life and junk like it used to be. Rein just wanted to change his clothing, he wanted to sell a Devil Fruit in Goa kingdom. Over the years, he surprisingly found a Devil Fruit on this island in the tiger Lord Den.

Rein switched into a white suit with a gold interior. He also wore a mask to hide his face. It was a phantom of the opera mask, a full face mask to cover his whole face. The mask was all white with gold lining around the eyes.

Rein had a total of two Devil Fruits but he had one that he wanted to give Dadan as a gift before leaving on his journey. It was a fruit she would surely be grateful to have, that was for sure. Rein made himself look noble like, he even knew how to talk like them, he was a modern person who watched several movies before, so he knew.

Rein quickly made his way to Goa kingdom, his clothes caught the attention of a lot of people as they whispered about him as he passed them.

"That man is truly noble, I want to marry him!" Some fat ugly noble woman saw Rein and her eyes turned to stars. Rein, hearing what this woman had said, actually began to run as if his life depended on it!

"WHAT!? HE RAN!" Everyone's eyes bulged in a comedic way as they looked at the super-fast so to speak noble with shock!

Moments later, Rein arrived at a jewelry shop, he wanted to sell the jewelry he stole years ago. The funny thing is, this was one of the shops he had robbed! As soon as Rein walked in, he saw two noblemen looking at diamonds and other luxurious jewels. Rein immediately caught their attention upon entry.

"Young nobleman, what can I do for you today?" The man who owned the shop greeted Rein kindly after seeing his dressing manner.

"Simple, I'm here to sell some useless rocks to this shop that I saw favor in, are you willing to buy them or do I have to go to another shop!" Rein deepened his voice and changed his manner to sound more "noble-like."

"No, no, young noble, please come this way, I would love to buy your noble jewels!" The man gave a caring smile but to Rein, this was fake as hell as everyone was in this kingdom. Rein's mouth twitched hearing the way the man said "noble jewels" to him that sounded a little homos.e.x.u.a.l to some degree, though Rein didn't mind homos and all, he wasn't like that.

The two arrived at the counter and Rein took out the jewels for the man to see. Rein wasn't worried that the man would recognize these jewels, he wouldn't dare to question him as a noble if he did recognize them. As expected, the man didn't recognize them and even took a liking to them. Rein took out all the jewelry he stole from the other shops as well.

"How much will you give for all these rocks?" Rein nonchalant spoke like these jewels, necklaces and diamond bracelets were nothing.

"These are some really good quality treasures, I would say 190 Million Berries for all of them." The man gave his final appraisal and price.

"I know that these are trash rocks but your pricing is a little too low! I say, Two Hundred Fifty Million Berries!" Rein grinned under the mask as he stared into the man's eyes that seemed to have dilated from shock.

"T-Two H-Hundred Fifty Million!" The man's forehead and face suddenly filled with sweat, he seemed pressured hearing Rein's ridiculous price.

"HUH! Is there something wrong, does this shop plan to try and rip people off? Maybe I should tell my noble friends about this, once this spreads, hehe!" Rein laughed eerily. The man couldn't see Rein's mouth so he couldn't tell what his expression looked like. But his eyes were smiling which struck fear into his heart.

"I think you know!" The man caved and moments later Rein had actually earned 270 million berries, that was an extra 20 million!

"Haha, boy does it feel good to scam people, who would have thought, Haha!" Rein continued on his way, his destination, the auction house in this place. Though these nobles didn't keep slaves, they still had some secret transactions going on in the dark. The people here were all smiles but this was only just a cover.

Rein asked a few commoners where he could find the auction house, he didn't want to ask a noble since they might be a little suspicious of him for not knowing. After getting directions from two women, he made his way to the auction house.

The place looked like a mini-mansion, the auction house was all white with a sign above it, that said--

"Perfect Auctions."

The auction house had two huge bodyguards outside who had serious deadpan faces and bulging muscles. Rein was walked up the door, ready to make his entrance until he was stopped.

"Hold it right there, who are you?" One of the bodyguards stood in Rein's way and stuck his hands out to halt Rein's advances.

"I'm here for a special occasion, I'm here to sell something valuable! How dare you block me, is this how the perfect auction house treats their customers, I, a noble!?" Rein turned serious and acted arrogantly just like the nobles. The bodyguards shook hearing what Rein said but before they could say anything, a man appeared from the auction house.

"Don't block our dear noble guess! Are you two crazy, are you trying to destroy the image of the perfect auction house!?" The bodyguards shivered and moved away quickly in fear. A tall man with a red suit, cane and red top hat came out.

"Dear guess, please come this way and tell me more about your special occasion." The man smiled naturally, these people were world-class actors but you have to give it up to Rein for his acting here today.

"Good, let's talk privately then, hehe!" The man nodded and Rein followed behind him casually. The bodyguard began to wipe the sweat off their faces, that was a close call for them!

Moments later, the man and Rein were in the man's office. "You said you were here for a special occasion, what might you need dear noble?" The asked briefly

"I've come here to sell something special" Rein paused as he looked at the man who still had the same expression. "Have you heard of a devil fruit, I wish to sell it at your auction house." Suddenly, the man's face changed and he stood up from his seat.

"Are you serious, can you please confirm young noble?" The man couldn't stop smiling, he was practically shaking from excitement!

Rein took out a Devil fruit that was dark green in color, it looked like it had scales on it. This was a Zoan type Devil Fruit that he found in the Den of the Tiger years ago.

"My gosh, it really is a Devil fruit!" The man looked closely at the fruit and confirmed what Rein had said was true.

"Yes, yes, I want to sell this at my auction house today!" The man reached his hand out to give Rein a handshake which Rein complied with. "We can split the profit, I say, Hmm, 50/50 once it is done selling at the auction." The Man wanted to go half on the fruit once it was sold but this didn't sit well with Rein.

"I think we should go 10/90, I get 90 percent and you get ten percent, does this sound good enough?" The man's face turned dark for a second but changed back into his smiley manner immediately after.

"Young noble, it is only reasonable to split the profit evenly, this is the right thing to do, right?" The man tried to sound justified but Rein wasn't buying it.

"You know, there is another auction house in this kingdom, I am trying to build your reputation by selling a Devil fruit here but you want to scam me?" Rein eyes changed through the mask "Well, it seems like I'll have to go elsewhere, my noble family found this devil fruit and wanted to sell it here but..." Rein didn't finish and only sighed as he got up and pretended to leave.

The man in red grinded his teeth. "Wait, Okay, it's a deal! 90 percent for you and 10 percent for me!" Rein immediately turned around and sat back down in the chair. The man in red almost vomited blood seeing this shameless nobleman.

The two shook on it and even signed a contract. Rein kept a copy while he also kept a copy. The auction was tonight, this was going to be the surprise item at the end of the auction. Rein was going to go find a place to relax a bit, well to eat to be exact. While some of the nobles were at the auction buying from there, he could silently assassinate Stelly and leave Goa Kingdom afterward.
