Only I'm Need

[AN: The he/she & I will change occasionally in a fight scene to flow better. Also interactions with multiple people, I might use he/she instead of I. It really all depends on circ.u.mstance. I'm also a noob writer so tips and tricks are appreciated.]

=-=2 months Later =-=

I jumped back, dodging a Beowolf swipe and jabbed my bo-staff into its face, cracking its mask.

After jumping back, I quickly pulled my bow from my back and grabbed an arrow from my makeshift arrow rack that was attached to my t.h.i.g.h and shot the Beowolf directly in the middle of the cracks, killing it.

Zero Two, however, felt slightly weirded out by killing things that are technically part of her race but quickly remembering something Darling said, she was able to refocus on the fight.

"I killed people part of my race before. Even for shits and giggles, I've killed. So why must you be hindered when it comes to killing?"

Jumping back from a wipe horizontal swipe from a Beowolf, Zero Two rapidly shoot two arrows into both of the Beowolf's eye.

Although the arrow was halfway into the skull of the Beowolf, the lack of self-preservation of the Beowolf led it to rush towards Zero Two, who calmly and quickly grabbed the bo-staff from her back and jammed it into the back of the arrow which pushed the arrow further and kill the Beowolf.

And although the Beowolf's momentum would've led to it hitting Zero Two, the disintegration nature of the Beowolf, led it to pass through Zero Two with nothing remaining.

She then rolled forward to dodge a Beowolf attempting to tackle her. The tackling Beowolf was then shot in the eyes with several arrows killing it quickly by Quail.

And noticing the posture and actions of her Darling, she pulled out her arrow and aimed it at Darling before letting loose several arrows in rapid-fire speed towards him.

Quail did the same thing and let several arrows fly in rapid-fire speed toward ZT.

[AN: ZT is the way he addresses Zero Two when he needs to speak to her fast]

Both sides of the arrows flew past the other arrows and behind both Quail and Zero Two, killing the Beowolves behind each other.

The two 'married' people then began to dodge and weave past the Grimms, either shooting arrows or pummeling the Grimms with their bo-staffs.

And while Quail dodged with utmost efficiency, seemingly standing still most of the time only dodging while necessarily, Zero Two dodged artistically and flowed like a river between the Grimm seemingly never stopping.

Both unleashed Hell onto the Grimm with their bows and arrows, only switching when either a Grimm got close or they ran out of arrows.

Even then the arrows were left on the floor after a Grimm disintegrating so the arrows weren't an issue.

Quail had no choice, but to block an overhead strike from another Beowolf with his bo-staff.

And since the bo-staff was only made of wood, it shattered causing wood shards to impale Quail's face and body.

Although his eyes were both impaled with shards, he did his best to ignore it and instead used [Grimm Scan] & [Basic Scan] to track the Grimms.

Although the injuries did show a significant impact on Quail's fighting performance and thus started to take more injuries.

Although the shards usually wouldn't have an effect, both Quail's Aura shield and Light shield ran out and he didn't have time to regenerate it back up as it needed for him to not take damage for a certain amount of time and the Beowolf's never stopped coming so he couldn't regenerate.

Zero Two on the other hand, while extremely worried, was not the type to panic and instead, as calming as she can, began to assist her Darling as best as she could.

She also knew that her Darling especially hated distraction in fights and only tolerated distractions if they were important.

Although she too hated distractions, she was willing to forgive the distractor depending on the circ.u.mstance.

And when all of the Grimm were finally cleared, Quail took that moment to use [Complete Scan] to make sure that there was no Grimm around them, and then finally gently lowered himself onto a spot on the floor that wasn't littered with arrows.

Zero Two, on the other hand, dashed towards Quail and started to administer first-aid and gentle pull out the shards, whilst ignoring her wounds as they weren't severe at all and they were already healing back because of the Light.

"Why didn't you use your grenades and dodges." Zero Two asked. And Quail responded, "I forgot, what about you?" "I too forgot." Zero Two responded slightly down.

Quail then sighed, "We're both retards." "Truer words have never been spoken" Zero Two responded while using one hand to sagely stroke her non-existent beard.

After pulling out the shards, both Zero Two and Quail picked up the arrows and headed back 'home', while letting Aura and Light heal Quail's injuries, while Zero Two let her Grimm side and Light heal her injuries.

And how Zero Two got Light when it's supposed to damage her own kind. Well, flashback it is.

While debating on how to get Zero Two Light, as she really needed something like a trump card, Quail used almost every drop of Light he had and focused his intent on contacting either the Traveler or the Speaker.

And after a few seconds of waiting a voice that belonged to the Speaker answered.

"The Light will not harm her. The moment you intended to share the Light I knew. Sharing the Light is not a bad thing, but a good thing. Guardians are always needed.

No matter how far away from the Traveler they are. It only took this long, as I had to communicate with the Traveler and help it modify the Light so it works with Zero Two. I was just waiting for you to initiate the process."

After the Speaker finished speaking, Zero Two who was next to him eating, glowed orange flames, purple smoke, and blue lightning surrounded her.

Although Zero Two seemed to be in confusion before happily hugging her Darling.

Quail also hugged Zero Two instantly.

He would also be happy if Zero Two grew stronger and stronger.

So far the only two people who he would go out of his way to talk to and hug and stuff are Raven, his mother, and Zero Two.

His 'wife' after all grew stronger.

He only knew he was happy because of the amount of 'shock' ran through his body.

Most of his few emotions usually are physical and he identifies them with the 'shock' or 'shiver' that runs through his body.

He would then identify the 'shock' or 'shiver's emotion depending on the circ.u.mstance. Usually, his choices of emotions are 2 or more.

And in this case, he was either extremely happy or in love cause the sheer amount of 'shock' that went through his body was insane to the point he thought it was electricity.

After arriving 'home' which was a simple log cabin that both of them built after realizing that after the one month time period, no one came to fetch them, they decided they needed a more permanent resident and built this log cabin together.

After arriving inside the log cabin, they took off their shoes and then headed to the shower together.

They then cleaned themselves and Zero Two went to prepare dinner as Quail was temporarily blinded.

Although dinner wasn't as good as usually as Quail didn't cook it, it was still doable and edible.

They then went to bed with both of them facing each other, while Quail used Zero Two as a body pillow and hugged her, while she snuggled into his c.h.e.s.t.

Although sometimes when Quail is really tired, he would instead reverse the position so he is snuggled into Zero Two and she would use him as a body pillow.

So this was supposed to come out several hours ago, but I fell asleep while making this.
