Chapter 15 - Nostalgia

Wrrrrrr...

The splash of wind tickled the inside of Amelia's ear as she soared through the air at break-necking speeds, the air ruffling the soft, angelic wings that had sprouted from her backside as she soared through the air. Amelia could still sense the thermal signatures of Noah and Carter as they deluged her senses, but she was already used to this experience.

"I'm almost there", she thought as she was closed in on their supposed locations within a matter of minutes.

Shoooo!

Amelia's wings separated the clouds as she delved back into the stratosphere as if she were a raindrop, leaving the clouds with nothing but gargantuan cavities. She had slowed her descent as she got closer to the dirt that is the ground, only stopping short of a few feet away from a house that stood center in her peripherals. Eerie vibes filled Amelia as she began to feel the uneasiness creep into her soul, it was 'spooky'. Something wasn't right, in fact, it was uneasy as she had felt earlier, but even so, she still approached the house, ever so slowly but closing in distance moderately.

"This house, it feels, no...It looks familiar", this thought ricocheted throughout her mind as she continued to pace herself towards the eerie house, assuring herself that it was indeed the location of her revived brother and loved friend. Not even fearing death itself, Amelia had no doubts and in doing so, she swallowed that eeriness and left it to rot in the pits of her stomach where the rest of her pessimistic thoughts laid dormant.

chck....chck..chck..

Her b.a.r.e feet, rubbed against the soil of the house's front yard, with every step, continuing with her destined stroll, until...

chck..chck..

Both of her feet, stopped in place, as Amelia stood only centimeters from the wooden porch of the house. The front door was only a few feet away, maybe two or three. She started to step again as her delicate soles kissed the cold oak of the house, dirtying themselves before stopping in front of the front door. Reassuring herself once more, Amelia let out an exhale of 'relief', as her hand gripped the cold copper knob and span it in a clockwise motion. As the door slowly swung open Amelia stepped inside, passing the threshold, breathing in the dusted and aged air that was bottled up inside. She took a walk throughout the house, irregularly noticing small details and telling herself that she'd seen this place before or that, at the very least, it felt familiar to her.

CRCK!

Amelia looked down as she noticed her foot had started bleeding, it was cut from a shard of glass from a broken picture frame and so she lifted her foot as she the cut began to heal itself. She had reached down to pick up the picture frame and realized that it had a picture inside it looked like a family of four. A man, a woman, a teenage looking boy, and a little girl. Amelia squinted at the image, harder and narrower than she was already doing, so much so that her eyelids were beginning to hurt, but then she began to realize something. Un-Squinted her eyes became, as her mouth started to widen. Her eyes began to gather tears within their corners as she mustered the words...

"Mom...Death?'', as these words parted her lips Amelia's mind was being overrun with information that she was unsure if she could handle. Then the room began to get cold, colder than it was currently as the oak beneath her feet curdled in ice. The picture looked like her mother, but her mind was telling her that it was indeed Death. Unknowingly, knowing that both of those titles occupied the same space within her memories. Both of those people were the same and this was the first remembrance of such a vital piece of her life. The woman in the photo looked almost identical to a normal human woman, but Amelia could have sworn it was death.

Could it be? Was Amelia the secret lovechild of a God and human, of this, she wasn't absolutely sure, but one thing was for certain that her she'd agreed upon; That woman was most definitely her mother and Death.

THOOP! THOOP!

"Fumbling, somebody's upstairs and they're not alone."

Trying to maintain her emotional composure, Amelia got a hold of herself and focused on the sounds that were coming from upstairs. She started to pace herself towards the bottom of the staircase, slowly working her way up with a frost aura surrounding her, she was prepared for anything.

THUMP! THUMP!

The fumbling continued before Amelia almost reached the peak of the staircase, ready to turn the corner before...

"HEY!", these words cut through the air and startled Amelia as she fell down to the floor, landing on her b.u.t.t. These weren't her words though, in fact, they sounded more masculine, almost like a boy or a teenage boy at that. She looked up and saw a familiar face and her face made the largest smile she'd ever made in her life as she screamed a scream that could be heard throughout the house, "Carter!"

Amelia had swiftly jumped up into her brother's embrace, hugging him so much, but being careful as to not break his spine, which she didn't realize she could easily do at the time. As the hug ended, Amelia asked Carter how'd he gotten here and he told her that he couldn't remember, but he does know that he captured one of Hades' minions.

"Hades' Minions?", Amelia was semi-happy and confused at the same time as she asked him for further detail.

Carter ran over into a nearby room and back out with a person tied up that Amelia recognized within a breadth of a second. It was Noah and she was as excited to see Noah as she was to see Carter, although to a little more of a higher degree she ran over and untied him.

"Amelia, it's you!", Noah screamed this as he jumped up from his binds and embraced Amelia, as she did him. They were both within each other's possession, sharing each other's warmth. The two made eye contact one again before passionately pressing their lips with each other, their kiss caused the room the begin to cover itself in luminescent ice that sparkled like a hundred light-bulbs.

Several minutes pass as Amelia explains the current event's to Noah and Carter both, after formally introducing the two to each other. She explains that Logica plans to gain the power of the first hybrid user and use it for her own evil purposes and that Olivia had planned to eradicate everything. Although a huge pill to swallow, Carter began to understand and so, he closed his eyes and his hair began to glow a luminescent light that lit within the confines of the room. Carter told Amelia of his true hybrid ability in which his mother told to keep secret from Amelia, for he possessed the power to know everything that has happened, is currently happening and will happen. Carter was all-knowing, his omniscience far exceeding that which Olivia could see tens of thousands of possible outcomes to most situations. With all this information, he had to share with them, as it's only natural that they would want to know and so Carter spoke.

"Amelia, Olivia has already killed Logica and absorbed her essence, stealing not only her abilities but her experience and knowledge as well. She plans to use this to extra knowledge and power she has obtained to merge with the 'The First One', and destroy everything as you said. Her first plan of action is to f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y smash the Moon into the planet as to start by exterminating the human race and recombining the lost souls of the three reincarnations of the great deities to soon destroy the earth, but that means she needs your power too. This spell she has performed, the merging one, has an interlude of approximately two years and some weeks, so she can't do all of this as of now. This is where you must use your part Omnidea, the small portion you have to stop her. but you must control it or she will surely defeat you. She is too strong as of now and you need to learn to unlock at least half of its power to stand a chance."

Noah turned his head to Amelia, seeing as she gripped her c.h.e.s.t with this anvil of responsibility she had been suddenly been hit with. The existence of the world now laid on this child's shoulders and the pressure was beginning to weigh in. However, Amelia understood this responsibility and took it with pride, since she had already pledged to stop Olivia, so it basically had become her destiny that she could not avoid.

This was truly the beginning of the end.
