Paranoid Trap

Chapter 10

Not far away, she slowed down and looked back.

Again. The feeling of being stared at and peeped at came again.

It seems that someone is watching her in the dark, everytime she looks behind her there was no one. This situation was creeping her out.

It could be her own illusion. But this illusion seems to exist, not imaginary.

She had to put aside what she was feeling and hurried to go home.

At the same time, in an hospital ward, the nurse looked at the empty bed.

The next day, Mother Nian saw Nian Gao cooking in the kitchen. She put on her slippers and take a look. She was surprised to see her daughter cooking soup. “Isn’t it too early for lunch?”

“A friend of mine was hospitalized. I made him soup.” Nian Gao replied.

“It seems like you really like this friend of your ah.” Her mother said.

Jing Xian opened his laptop, and a signal light in the lower right corner suddenly flashed.

He clicked on the signal light and a page flashed out of the screen. In the page, a red dot was approaching the hospital where he was staying.

He looked at the moving red dot and slowly smiled.

Nian Gao arrived at the hospital with her heat preservation lunch box.

“Why are you here again?” Jing Xian lifted his eyes from the computer screen and closed the computer.

“I cooked some soup and brought it here. Would you like some?”

His eyes were soft, “thank you.”

She opened the lid, and the heat filled the air together with a strong aroma. She took out a small bowl and carefully handed it to him, “Be careful, you will scald yourself.”

“This is good,” he said, taking a sip.

Hearing his compliment, Nian Gao felt that the hotness in the air was entering her heart. “If it’s good, drink more. It will warm your stomach.”

“Yes.”

For a moment the room was quiet.

Nian Gao wanted to look at him, but it was strange to stare at him all the time. She deliberately diverted her attention and cast her eyes out of the window.

“Why are you so good to me?”

Suddenly, Nian Gao heard Jing Xian say.

Because I like you.

Her words stopped at the tip of her tongue and looked around several times to avoid the question. She was flustered and didn’t dare to look at him, “Be-Because I put you in the hospital.”

“If you put your former coach in hospital, will you also make a soup for him?”

Of course not. Nian Gao denied it from the bottom of her heart. She wanted to say that she was like him, but she couldn’t say it.

If he said it, it’s equivalent to confessing to him. What if he doesn’t like her?

She didn’t even start planning to have him. What if she confesses directly and then rashly rejected by him?

Her heart was shaking and filled with doubt but he still answered him, “Yes.”

“Really?” his voice rose.

“Yes…”

When she confirmed it once more, Nian Gao felt the air stagnant and the dust particles stopped floating.

A long time passed.

“Nian Gao.”

“Huh?”

“Look at me.”

She swallowed her saliva and looked at him slowly.

Now the curtain was half closed, and the glow penetrated into the room through the gap illuminating his left shoulder, making his body half bright and half dark.

“Nian Gao, did you fall in love with me?”
