Ch1 - Reunion

Cold.

Shu Jin floated in the water, looking up at the dark clouds in the sky.

He swam more than a dozen laps in a row before stopping, and after his feverish body calmed down, he actually felt that the water in the pool had become bone-chillingly cold.

Not long after, a drop of water fell from the sky. He blinked, and another drop quickly fell into his eyelashes. Immediately after, countless drops of water fell, hitting his forehead, his cheeks, and the clear surface of the pool.

It’s raining.

There were only few people around the pool, and the only person who came to the outdoor pool knowing that it was going to rain was Shu Jin.

He swam slowly to the shore, pulled the handrail up and returned to the bench where he had put his things. He dried himself hastily with a towel, and when he put on his T-shirt, his foot accidentally caught the strap of his coat pocket and fell hard.

This fall is very serious. The pool is tiled with non-slip flooring, the ground is uneven and very hard. Shu Jin’s knee swelled up at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Such a big person, no matter how painful he is, it was embarrassing to cry.

Shu Jin sucked in the cold air for a while, then took his things with red eyes and limped towards the hotel hall.

The rain was already very dense, and the raindrops hit the banana grass leaves and made a rustling sound.

Shu Jin was standing in front of the elevator enduring the pain when he heard someone call out his name.

“Shu Jin.”

A deep and slightly cold male voice.

When his name was called, the last syllables were pronounced softer in a familiar tone.

Su Jin suddenly raised his head. When he saw the person beside him clearly, he stiffened for a second, and then his brain went blank.

Sheng Xinghe in front of him was taller than the one in Shu Jin’s memory.

He was standing upright, wearing only a shirt with its cuffs casually pulled up, revealing his solid forearm and a simple style wristwatch. On his clear and elegant face, his piercing eyebrows, the straight bridge of his nose, and every part of his face is just right. Even his cold and cloudy gray right eye without any vision did not cause any discomfort.

At this moment, Sheng Xinghe was looking at Shu Jin with his clear left eye. His eyes were very light and he also had this calm and steady temperament that only a superior person had, which made Shu Jin feel very strange.

Shu Jin opened his mouth: “What a coincidence.”

Sheng Xinghe: “En.”

The elevator came.

Sheng Xinghe was not alone, and was followed by a woman dressed as a secretary. They stepped into the elevator first, and although the elevator is relatively empty, Shu Jin plan to wait for the next elevator, but he felt it was too deliberate, so he had to step away and walk in.

The woman in high heels, preparing to press the floor, politely asked: “Sir, which floor are you going to?”

Shu Jin answered, “46, thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

The woman hugged the folder and pressed the button, and Shu Jin noticed that she also pressed on the 52th floor.

They were staying at the 52th floor, and once again Shu Jin thought, how could it be such a coincidence.

Then unexpectedly, he heard Sheng Xinghe ask, “What happened to your leg?”

After saying that, he bit his lips.

Sheng Xinghe understood and was silent.

Sheng Xinghe, who used to dislike talking to him, stood on his right side.

Shu Jin wanted to say bad things about him in his blind spot, but Sheng Xinghe turned around, looked at him with dark eyes and said, “I’m just blind, not deaf. How old do you think you are?”

The woman interrupted: “It seems to be serious, it’s all swollen.”

The corner of Shu Jin’s mouth twitched, and he said stiffly, “It’s okay.” Then he didn’t speak any more.

The elevator became quiet.

The tips of Shu Jin’s hair were dripping, and his thick black eyelashes cast shadows under his eyes, making it impossible to see his emotions.

He was still holding the towel and garment bag that he had not been able to fill, since after he fell, he simply did not change his pants, and was wearing a loose t-shirt. Fortunately, his swimming trunks are five-pointers, only revealing his white and slender calves, which is not too absurd to compare with the two in formal clothes.

So why did you have to go swimming?

Once again, he asked himself with regret, why did he have to make their reunion so lame.

The elevator speed in high-class hotels is amazing.

This frustration didn’t last long, a beep sounded in the elevator.

Shu Jin limped out of the elevator. When he was still considering whether to turn around to say goodbye, the elevator door had already closed. He only had time to glance at Sheng Xinghe, only to see the other party’s eyelashes down. He didn’t know what he was thinking, perhaps thinking about work matters.

After swiping the card and entering the room, the moment the hallway light was on, Shu Jin was frightened by his reflection in the mirror.

His lips ran pale in the water, since he did not cry after the fall, his eyes were red, and his hair was rubbed in a mess, which was uglier than a ghost.

He staggered to the bed on the inside, and collapsed onto the soft mattress in a fit of self-loathing.

Looking at the blank ceiling, the injury on his knee suddenly throbbed, but he was still thinking about the Sheng Xinghe he had just seen.

From the age of nineteen to twenty-four.

He hadn’t seen Sheng Xinghe in almost five years.

Shu Jin couldn’t tell what he was feeling now. In short, he was very sad, and his mentality collapsed a little.

After ten minutes, someone rang Shu Jin’s doorbell.

Shu Jin dragged his knees and opened the door, and the room attendant handed him a bag: “Hello, this is your medicine.”

The bag contains swabs of iodine solution, and a bottle of traditional Chinese medicine.

Shu Jin froze for a moment: “I didn’t buy the medicine.”

The room attendant said: “A gentleman surnamed Sheng ordered it to be delivered to you.”

Shu Jin went back to the bed and sat for a while, not knowing where a burst of courage surged.

Before this courage had disappeared, he recklessly called the front desk and said straightforwardly: “Hello, I would like to ask for the room number of Mr. Sheng Xinghe who lives on the 52nd floor.”

The receptionist politely said, “Sorry sir, Mr. Sheng’s information is confidential, I need to pass it on to him first and ask his opinion. May I ask who you are?”

“Shu Jin.” Shu Jin said, sucked in his nose to hold back his tears, and after a pause said, “Tell him my name is Shu Jin.”

After making this call, Shu Jin was dazed for a long time.

When the phone rang suddenly he was startled, with three souls and seven spirits gone, and a heart that’s pounding hard, he picked up the receiver and asked the other side, “What did he say?”

“What do you want to say?”

It was Sheng Xinghe’s voice.

Across the phone, the other party’s voice seemed a little different than it had just been in the elevator.

Shu Jin was not sure if it was an illusion, but his heart was beating faster and he almost threw the receiver: “…”

Sheng Xinghe’s tone did not rise and fall, sounding very normal: “Did you get the medicine?”

Shu Jin responded and said, “Thank you.”

Sheng Xinghe then asked: “What can I do for you?”

There was a sound of keyboard tapping on the phone, and Shu Jin could imagine Sheng Xinghe’s fingers flying over the keyboard while talking on the phone.

He should be working.

Shu Jin’s Adam’s apple rolled lightly, and said softly: “I just want to thank you…and then I want to ask you how to use it, I kind of don’t know how to apply it.”

The phone was quiet for ten seconds or so.

During this period, Shu Jin’s face was burning hot, his palms were sweating, and even his toes began to curl.

He couldn’t help but cowardly close his eyes and thought whether Sheng Xinghe would hang up his phone directly, or coldly tell him common sense on the phone: There are instructions in the medicine box.

The process of waiting for an answer is like waiting for a verdict.

The soft tapping of the keyboard resumed and Sheng Xinghe said: “Wait for me for ten minutes.”

Shu Jin spent a long ten minutes.

Even after Sheng Xinghe appeared in his room, he still felt like he was dreaming.

Sheng Xinghe hasn’t changed his clothes yet. He should really have been working just now, and Shu Jin knew he should be busy. Alone together in a room, Shu Jin turned sideways to let Sheng Xinghe enter the door when he smelled the faint male fragrance of Sheng Xinghe’s body, mixed with the warmth of his body, which made him a little lost in thought.

Shu Jin closed the door and moved to sit down on the sofa. Sheng Xinghe’s height is superior, so no matter how much he wears his clothes, he would seem like a hanger. Shu Jin peeped at his back, only to see him scanning the room and then asked: “Room for two?”

This is a twin room.

Both beds have their own stuff on them.

Shu Jin said, “Well, with my colleague.”

After he finished speaking, he felt that this was dry and added: “He went out to buy specialty products.”

He thought Sheng Xinghe would ask him why he didn’t go, or ask how they got here, whether it was just a trip or a business trip, but Sheng Xinghe didn’t even ask.

Sheng Xinghe turned around and looked at him condescendingly because of the angle: “Where is the medicine?”

Shu Jin pointed out: “On the bedside table.”

Sheng Xinghe took the medicine and walked straight towards him.

Shu Jin pursed his lips nervously, and Sheng Xinghe sat down beside him and raised his calf naturally. Su Jin suddenly stiffened, like a senseless puppet. At such a close distance, he could see Sheng Xinghe’s sparse and long eyelashes, as well as Sheng Xinghe’s gray pupil. Suddenly, he began to tremble, and his eyes began to wet uncontrollably.

He was on Sheng Xinghe’s right side, and Sheng Xinghe couldn’t see him.

He was obsessed, trying to carve Sheng Xinghe’s appearance into his mind completely.

Sheng Xinghe squeezed his knee and gently wiped his slightly broken skin wounds with iodine solution, and then applied the traditional Chinese medicine to the palm of his hand to warm it up.

Shu Jin was shaking more and more severely.

Sheng Xinghe said “Don’t move” before applying the medicine, and he slowed down a bit.

Sheng Xinghe applied the medicine and massaged it with his strong fingers for a while.

He is quite patient and has used moderate strength. If he helps, he is not perfunctory, and he relieves Shu Jin’s pain instantly.

After pressing for almost ten minutes, Sheng Xinghe stopped.

“Shu Jin, does it hurt?”

“…”

“You’ve been crying.”

“…”

Shu Jin’s vision was blurred and he could not see Sheng Xinghe’s face.

He uselessly dropped tears and also uselessly put his arm around Sheng Xinghe’s waist.

In this position, Shu Jin buried his head into Sheng Xinghe’s shoulder.

The author has something to say:

I have posted this text before, but now I’m free to fill it in.

Sunnyshies: This is my new project! It’s just a short 24 chapter novel. It has a little bit of drama, and angst on it, but the two protagonists is really cute. Like the author said in the synopsis, it’s a break up, reunion story of two lovers. But don’t worry, Shu Jin’s reason for breaking up is very reasonable, and everything work out in the end.

Oh, yeah…I plan to update 2 chapters a week, so it’s estimated to finished on December. So if anyone wanted to read in advance, the raws is free, so you can directly read it on jjwcx. Also, please support the author!
