Chapter 28 - 28 - What’s Great About Talent?

Elaina left in a rush. She knew that Lucus was around and decided against going back home and told the driver to go straight to her apartment complex.

Elaina sat with her gloomy mood.

' the days in the past can no longer bother us in the present...yet..they still come after us, why? I'm sure I had deleted everything regarding Dad and Daisuke. And now that crazy freak found me. This will not end well' her inner spoke the words that were never said out loud.

Elaina was in a semi-dazed state until her phone brought her back to reality. She grabbed her phone from her handbag and saw the name.

'Dad' and picked up the call immediately

"Hello? Dad?"

"Hey, you didn't come back for awhile so I thought you went back to your apartment. Are you not coming home?" Her father's worried tone calmed her gloomy mind.

"Not today. Apparently there's problem at the company and a bit of extra work is involved. So I'm going to back to my place. Sorry I would have joined you but..-"

"No worries, as long as you give me a call when your done work. So I'll feel relieved. Take care Eli and don't over work yourself" he said and soon the call ended.

Elaina looked at the finished phone call and felt that there was something wrong with the words Lucus had said. She had started to think hard about it.

'Elaina Glowne, you can't escape for long. The Glowne family will always drag the talented back no matter how much you escape~ Just look at your father half crippled cause he escaped.'

She always had a feeling the Glowne Family had a hand in the accident but she didn't know who. It would be pointless to support this with out evidence of the crime.

She also thought of a bunch of people who just wanted her dead as well. She had offended so many to count. That was because she was also talented.

'Talented'

Elaina had always admired talented people and also became one of the talented few. But that was long gone when things got out a of hand and they had to leave the country.

'What's great about talent?'

She didn't understand back then, but in the present, she could for sure say it was a blessing disguise as a curse.

'If not for talent, I wouldn't have lost my mom and dad wouldn't have lost his leg and Daisuke would be like other children who had both parents' All these thoughts were ringing in her head.

"Oi, Missy! This is the place right?" The driver spoke when he stopped at the huge building.

"Oh. Yes, thanks a lot" she payed the taxi and walked towards the building entrance.
