Taking out a needle from his inventory, Soul made sure to put in alcohol before stabbing his index finger with it.

When the blood drop begins to form on his index finger, Soul went quickly to pour it on the c.h.e.s.t until the locker was unlocked.

Healing his index finger, Soul slowly opened the c.h.e.s.t with Anubis from behind, looking curious at what could inside the c.h.e.s.t.

As soon as he opened it, two objects flew into both of their eyes. Anubis on the left, Soul on the right.

It wasn't a painless process, but a painful one. Both of them fell down while holding on their eyes.

Soul: 'Ah! My eyes! I-It's feel like its burning!'

It was true for both of them that their eyes feel like they burning. What the two mysterious artifacts were doing right now, was to absorb mysterious energy inside the room, and fusing with both of them.

The more energy the artifact absorbed, the less painful their eyes were, they also could feel a surge of power that begins to absorb by the artifacts.

Soul: 'What's going!? I feel like my body and power are growing stronger? How is that even possible?'

While Soul was thinking, he didn't notice that Anubis' body begins to glow. Anubis who was in the same situation as Soul could feel something inside his body is growing bigger and bigger until there was no more place for it to grow, so it expanded the area for it to grow more until it stops.

When Soul looked at Anubis, he was surprised by the sudden evolution. He wanted to smile happy for Anubis, but the pain prevents him from doing so.

When the pain was gone and the fusion was successful, Soul feel like he could see everything more clearly and detail.

When he looked at Anubis, who has successfully evolve, he asked Arc to check him. The number that came out of it makes his eyes widen.

Anubis seemed to be confused by why his master looked at him like that, and why does his master seem smaller than before.

Anubis looked around its body, then both of his eyes widen by the sight of his new appearance.

He almost cried and thought it was a joke, but it wasn't. He has finally evolved! Out of happiness, Anubis went to hug Soul in his new form.

Soul patted Anubis on his head and wait until he gives slips on him. Anubis looked like a child who just got one his wishes fulfilled, which is true. One of the things he wanted was to evolve and it's finally happened after all this time.

After a while, Anubis let go of Soul as Soul walked over to where the c.h.e.s.t was and took a page from it. When he did that, the surrounding around them begins to shakes as a pathway was open in front of them.

Sending the page back to his inventory, Soul looked over at Anubis as he looked back at Soul and both of them nodded.

They went inside the new pathway as the ground behind them is falling apart. Unknown to them, they just destroyed the ancient ruin as the researchers and others were fleeing away.

When they reached the end of the path, there was nothing else but a giant rock in front of them.

Strangely, Soul could see there was something else behind it. It was as if he could see everything within his view.

He asked Anubis to break the rock, which he punched with a normal punch and the giant stone broke.

At least, Anubis didn't use all of his power and just take it easy. Looking at what in front of them, they could see a strangely floating blue orb in front of them.

Soul told Anubis to go back to his shadow in case this orb could only be used one time, which Anubis nodded.

When Anubis went back to Soul shadow, he went to touch the blue orb as a beam of light appeared around them, forcing them to close their eyes.

Opening their eyes again, Soul could see that he was sent to the top of the mountain of what remained by the ancient ruin.

The moonlight begins to shine as Soul looked around his surrounding. Everything surrounding him, he could see it clearly, detailed.

He was surprised and looked over Anubis, who also looked around his surrounding with his left-eye glowed of his normal eyes color.

Sighing, Soul said.

Soul: Let's go to Saffron City and get our 6th badge. After that, there would be a lot of times before we've arrived at Cinnabar Island.

Anubis nodded as Soul went to call out Noivern. When Noivern came out, he was surprised to see that Anubis evolved.

Soul: I'm sure both of you have a lot of things to talk about, but first let's get to our destination first.

Both of them nodded as Anubis went back to Soul shadow, and Soul went to ride on Noivern as all three of them flew away to Saffron City at a fast pace.

What they didn't know was that someone saw them from below the mountain, and manage to take a picture of them, when their eyes glowed before leaving the place completely.

After a few hours of flying, they finally arrived at Saffron City again, where Soul asked Noivern to land outside of the city, so he wouldn't cause any trouble and scare peoples around them by their sudden arrival.
