Pregnant At Seventeen Of Triplets

Chapter 8 - 8: Two babies

John said that this way it didn't matter if it was a girl or a boy. It was the perfect way to say goodbye; A day full of happiness and friendship. I knew I would miss him and said that he would miss me, which made a heart skip a beat or two.

He dropped me home, lightly kissed me on the lips and left. Calling him back would have been too hard… I didn't even know what I would say. I knew I would miss him I was sitting the waiting room with mom and Olivia, waiting for the doctor to call my name.

Imagine that I was waiting in the waiting room, funny. I had not come by choice either. Because I had changed doctors every time I had a check-up, it meant that I had not yet had an ultrasound. According to my mom and the numerous pregnancy books I had been reading that was bad… extremely bad. I was four and a half months.

That meant that John had been gone for about a month. He had called a few times when I had been at Olivia‟s so I had talked to him and he was going well.

I got a parcel in the mail from him just before we had left this morning and what had been inside had bought me to tears, I blamed the hormones of a pregnant woman, but mom said I couldn't blame that on everything.

I figured I could, I needed something good to come from this pregnancy apart from a baby… Anyway, inside the package were about five baby outfits all in white, yellow and orange. Also, there was a teddy bear that carried a heart that said "mammy‟s baby".

I was pulled out of my daydreams when my name was called. I stood up and followed the nurse, while mom and Olivia followed behind. Once we were inside the room I looked around at the cozy office. I was sitting in the chair closest to the doctor's table, sans the doctor. mom and Olivia both took chairs on the opposite side of the room.

Just as I was getting comfortable, the doctor walked into the room. I recognized her as the same doctor that two and half months ago had told me I was pregnant. She smiled at me, also obviously recognizing me. I smiled back feeling a lot more relaxed than I did a few minutes ago. "Amelia, I haven‟t seen you in a while, how are you and the baby going?" she asked happily.

"Good. Well as good as things can get I guess" I smiled She asked what I was here for and I sheepishly told her about my check-ups or lack thereof. She gave me a quick talking to about being responsible and they told me to hop up on the table and lift my shirt.

I did as she asked and looked at my ever-expanding stomach. Most people had guessed that I was pregnant now, but nobody had given me much grief, for which I was extremely grateful. "Ok, now let‟s have a look at Junior," she said why applying the gel to my stomach. I looked at the monitor in wonder. That was my baby.

I only half-listened while the doctor gave us all tour of my w.o.m.b. That was my baby. I had a one night stand with a complete Stanger, who that is I still don‟t know and it had resulted in this; my baby. My baby had a heart, toes, fingers and even fingernails.

I felt an overwhelming feeling that somewhat resembled happiness. I knew I was doing the right thing and it made all the difference. "Hang on for a minute," the doctor said. I started panicking. Was there something wrong? Was my baby ok?

"Well I have a surprise for you Amelia" the doctor smiled At least she was smiling, I thought, that means that it can‟t be that bad. "Look here at this," she said pointing to something on the screen, "This is a babies heart and if you look here"

she pointed to another section of the screen, "this is also a baby‟s heart" "Holy Cow" I screamed, "my Baby had Two f**king hearts!" Suddenly all the people occupying the doctor‟s office laughing... At me! It wasn't a funny situation.

"Geeze Amelia lay off the psycho pills. I think the doc means you have two babies; Twins. Not a, uh, a baby with two hearts" smirked Olivia. By the end, she was trying so hard not to laugh at me again
