Prince Of Cooking

Chapter 28 - Unfinished dish

"This may be the chance of him losing!"

"Yeah!"

With how amazing Alice's bento was, the first-year students were rousing with expectation. They might not like the content of the Shokugeki but the thought of seeing Lovin for the first time outweighs that notion.

"Hey! You better win this, Lovin!" hearing the cheer of Lovin may not win the match, Ikumi yell out.

Right after the shout of the tanned skin girl, Lovin finished with his cooking and carry his two-level, rectangles shape, stainless steel bento box to the judges.

"Only two stack-" the judge's pause their words when they see three the golden fried lobster tail, coating in nut and its roasted, crisp fragrant drift through their nose.

"It smells quite good...it seems the lobster tail is coated in cashew?"

"Yes, and be careful when eating."

They were confused by Lovin's word but they continue with their eating when he didn't say any more, guess they will find out.

The moment they bite through the lobster tail, the judge's pupils dilate as their mouth was flooding with a sweet, mellow sauce.

Carefully removing the lobster tail from their mouth, the judges move it above the bento box and watch as the yellow sauce gushing out within the coating of the lobster tail and falling down like a waterfall.

'The sauce was hiding inside the lobster this whole time' Senzaemon thought as he chews on the piece of lobster meat left within this mouth and knows something extra.

"So, you use tofu skin to hold the sauce from leaking out during fry?"

"Yeah" Lovin nodded.

The judges watch as the sauce gushing out in awe and play around with it like kids as they eat the lobster tail.

"That was quite a delicious and fun experience" the director of Japan Gourmet Society, Saotome Seishu stated after cleaning out of three of the lobster tail.

"Now, for the second box..."

Oping the lid, everyone watching was met with plain rice and a red sauce, draw in the picture of a cartoonish, chibi version of Lovin, saying I'll always be watching. On top of the rice.

"Quite the artist, aren't you?" one of the judge chuckle.

"Well, when I was making the bento, I was thinking of Alice. Can you stir the rice and sauce, and mix them together before eating."

"I'm flattered, you thought of me in making the bento, Lovin-kun" for the side, Alice speaks up while the judges begin to mix the sauce and rice.

As the judges dig into the rice, they discover various vegetables hidden within the rice, cut in thin strings and too many to count.

After all the rice, sauce and vegetables were completely mixed together, the people finally see the full shape of the dish.

"This is Bibimbap from Korean. A dish with rice, vegetables and chill sauce blend together." said a judge.

"Haha, he'll lose for sure! There no way he can win with that kind of dish!"

"He too full of him if he thinks he can win with that!"

Knowing the names of Lovin's main bento dish, all the students watching, laugh at Lovin and assuming of him losing this match.

Looking at the scene, Ikumi got annoyed and wonder why Lovin would make such a weak dish and then suddenly realize something, "Don't tell me..."

"He wouldn't dare..." not just her, Erina who spent quite an amount of time with Lovin and knowing his personality, was on the same thought.

As he picks up the spoons, Alice got in front of his with a hard stare, "Are trying to lose so you can fulfill the condition of the Shokugeki of if you lost, you will be my boyfriend. Because If that true, I wouldn't accept it."

"No" Lovin replies as he walks toward the judges and hands them the spoons, "As I said in the beginning, I would never lose."

With the spoon, the judges put the Bibimbap in their mouth, tasting fresh and vibrant

vegetables with a hint of meat as they keep chewing but they also notice something unique with the vegetables.

"It's so crunchy..." on the second bite, they were soaring through the sky, above the clouds.

On the third bite, the judges land on a garden of vegetables, growing at all sizes and stretching as far as their view can see.

As they were enjoying the colorful vegetable, and smelling the fresh and crisp scent it's giving off. They hear a peculiar voice calling them and directing their attention toward the end of the garden, where they can narrowly make out a plant was growing there, hidden within the clouds.

Suddenly, they were brought out of their incredible, food experience and back to reality. Feeling the need to know what at the end of the garden, like it was their calling, the judges start to eat the Bibimbap again.

With a disappointed face on, the judges drop their spoon on the empty stainless steel lunch box and sigh. Even after they eat the Bibimbap without leaving a single grain of rice, they still couldn't reach beyond the vegetable garden.

"The director didn't go bare-c.h.e.s.ted..."

"That means he lost...Yes!"

Seeing the food, demon king, Nakiri Senzaemon didn't take off his cloth and the dissatisfied look on the judge's faces. The crowd of students with hate for Lovin up in roars and cheering, certain that he was going to lose.

"This dish is incomplete."

Ah, so that what the disappointed feeling they were experiencing. The other judges weren't sure until Senzaemon speak up and clear out their doubts.

"That's right, the dish you just ate is incomplete."

Hearing the confirmation from Lovin, Erina struck the wooden bar in front of her and speak up in an angry tone, "So he did try to lose on purpose!"

"Lovin, you idiot! I'll kill you!"

From the audience's seat, Ikumi stands up and threatening him with bodily harm that she and the other students cheering didn't notice what transpired until the announcement rang out.

[Woah! This is unexpected but...the winner of the first round is Lovin!]
