Chapter 15 – Where did he look like a good person?

Qi Anan had lost countless brain cells preparing for the birthday gift in the past two days. It was reasonable to say that she was kind of a hardcore book fan. She could easily analyze his character, but now she was slow to decide what gift would be appropriate.

In the novel, Jiang Lu, at this moment, was at a low and pitiful point in his life, with low self-esteem and self-loathing. Other children would look forward to their birthdays as early as possible. Still, it was an ordinary and somewhat disgusting day for him.

But Qi Anan remembered that Jiang Lu heard “Happy Birthday” in the novel for the first time when he was 28. One of his employees saw him that day and blurted out without thinking. At that time, his face wasn’t unmoved.

He couldn’t choose to come to this world and grow up with difficulty. In fact, he hoped someone would tell him that he wasn’t a nuisance.

Qi Anan’s thoughts drifted to the original novel’s plot for a while, and for a while, she remembered that Jiang Lu smiled at her in the sun in the early morning. While thinking intently, Butler Chen knocked on the door outside: “Miss, I’m coming in.”

He came in with a plate of fruit and, seeing Qi Anan sitting at the desk with a slight frown, he thought she was studying seriously and smiled with a kind expression: “Miss, take a break. You’ve been here since school ended and haven’t left the house. Eat some fruit.”

Qi Anan took it with a smile: “Thank you, Uncle Chen. By the way, is my brother coming back soon?”

“Well, he said he would be home in five minutes.” Butler Chen scratched the back of his head, “I just feel the young master isn’t too happy. He seems to be angry. Later Miss should coax him.”

“Is my brother not happy?”

Qi Anan had a sinking feeling in her heart, then reacted when she thought about it. Qi Yan was intelligent and resourceful and had never suffered a loss in business. Even if something really made him unhappy, he could still whitewash the situation and pretend not to care. It shouldn’t be that he was down because of his workplace.

If Butler Chen could hear that he was in a bad mood, it must be something that he was powerless, and a situation couldn’t be reversed. He was outraged.

Then what else could it be?

“Uncle Chen, don’t worry! I’ll go coax my brother. I’ll pick him up at the door!” Qi Anan patted her forehead, jumped up from her chair, and ran downstairs.

Qi Anan waited downstairs for less than a minute before Qi Yan returned.

As soon as he entered, Qi Anan showed a big smile and diligently took the things in Qi Yan’s hand: “Brother, you’re finally back. Are you hungry this late in the day? Hurry up and eat. I’ve been waiting for you to join me.”

Qi Yan’s face was initially gloomy, but when he saw Qi Anan. His gaze suddenly softened, and when he heard her say this, a trace of guilt flashed across his eyes.

“Anan, have you been waiting for me?” Qi Yan wanted to say something but stopped, sighing meaningfully, “I’ve wronged you.”

When he said that Qi Anan was more sure of her guess, so she sat beside Qi Yan and looked at his expression: “Brother, what’s wrong with you? Look at how bad you look. I haven’t been wronged. Don’t always think I’m a little pitiful all day long, okay?”

She was really not aggrieved. She was about to meet her daughter!

Qi Yan sighed in a low voice. He wasn’t like their father, who had a bag on his face. He wanted to put his illegitimate daughter here to live with Anan on a whim. He refused too much and caused the man to use reverse psychology. It had to be done this way. He used the company’s affairs to pressure him to let the two sisters cultivate feelings together.

Now he couldn’t advance nor retreat, but he had wronged Qi Anan and was unwilling.

Qi Yan didn’t want Qi Anan to know this. He was afraid she would be sad, so he changed the subject: “You’ll be in the high school entrance examination soon. Are you nervous?”

Qi Anan didn’t answer his question: “Brother, just tell me if you have anything. I’m not a child. Tell me the truth. Is it about me?”

“How are you not a child?” Qi Yan couldn’t help but laugh. Seeing that there was no way to get around it, he pondered and said: “Anan, in a couple of days, Dad’s relative’s child will come here and may… have to stay here for two days, but it won’t be too long until she sees the house and leaves. You don’t have to pay attention to her coming. Just do your own thing.”

Ugh. Her brother must have really saved the galaxy in his previous life before he was exchanged back. Qi Anan couldn’t help feeling that he was a little distressed for her sake at all times: “Brother, just tell me the truth, does she want to live here forever? It’s not a child of a relative’s family. It must be Dad’s child, right?”

After all, her odd parents didn’t even try to hide it. One kept a lover, and the other a pack of little puppies. It was just too ordinary for their remarkable dad to have a child outside.

Without waiting for Qi Yan to answer, Qi Anan said again: “You’re unhappy because of this, right? Did Dad scold you? Actually, it’s okay, just let her live with me. The house is so big that I’ll happen to have a companion. I agree with this, so don’t fight with Dad.”

Qi Yan looked at Qi Anan with a shocked expression, but the shock soon turned into sadness. It was hard for him to imagine that those words would come out of his pampered sister’s mouth just now.

He had suffered the hardships of his biological family. He had wanted to bring up his little sister to be innocent and pure, without having to think or understand anything, just to grow up safely under his wings. But he didn’t expect his sister to be so perceptive somehow.

To be so sensible, she must have suffered a lot. Qi Yan couldn’t be more distressed: “Anan, Brother, won’t let you suffer. You can be as willful as you want. You don’t need to be so sensible.”

Qi Anan couldn’t cry nor laugh, so she hugged Qi Yan’s arm and pouted: “Brother, I’m really not aggrieved. Why don’t you believe me? You work hard. You don’t need to worry about me.”

She really hadn’t been wronged at all, but she was a little afraid that Qi Yan would worry too much and feel aggrieved.

Seeing that Qi Yan wanted to say something, Qi Anan quickly added: “And when did you ever see your sister ever bullied? Don’t worry. If she really bullies me, I will never forgive her. When the time comes, I won’t need you. I’ll drive her out myself. ”

To reassure Qi Yan, Qi Anan raised her hand and made a solemn vow, but the villainess in her heart was secretly rubbing her hands. Her daughter was kindhearted and pure, the number one little angel in the world, so this kind of thing would definitely not happen.

Hearing Qi Anan say this, Qi Yan helplessly pinched her little face: “… Alright, let’s try it first. If there’s anything, you must tell Brother. She should move in when your high school entrance examination is over.”

Move in right after the high school entrance examination!

At this moment, Qi Anan heard the sound of fireworks going off in her own mind: there was still a week before the exam, which meant that after the exam, she, a hardcore cp fan, would have to celebrate the New Year!

Before going to bed at night, Qi Anan’s mind was still filled with excitement. When she was about to fall asleep in a half-dream, she suddenly remembered the business she had been thinking about for half of today and hadn’t come to fruition.

Hey, there was no rush to celebrate the New Year. She still hadn’t thought about her cub’s gift yet!

Jiang Lu’s birthday was on Children’s Day on June 1st. Still, he was very pitiful that he had never celebrated a birthday, nor had he had any Children’s Day.

But this year’s Children’s Day was definitely different. In the morning, Qi Anan took the phone, looked at the “June 1st” above, and couldn’t help but be happy.
