Project: Socialize

45 Celebrity in my Class

Muria and I entered the classroom one after the other, and the two of us both went to our respective seats. I rested my head on my desk and looked out the window. Because it was Autumn already, the air conditioning was off so I opened the windows slightly to allow the gentle breeze to blow in. It's quite comfortable to be honest, a perfect place to catch up on some sleep.

I closed my eyes and dozed off. Whatever happens happens. I mean when Mura takes roll, she'll yell at me and wake me up anyways so I didn't care if I fall asleep. And even if no one were to wake me up, well, it's only for a day so who cares?

Therefore, in the embrace of the relaxing wind, I fell asleep. However, I was soon awaken by sounds of pleasant surprise. I opened my eyes and looked up towards the classroom door at the front of the room. There, a girl with light orange hair had entered our classroom and following behind her was a horde of students who waited by the front door. My classmates seemed to be also quite surprised by this student's sudden entrance in a extremely joyful manner.

"Who's that?" I asked.

"Irina Freya Solis," Muria answered me.

"What's so special about her?"

"You don't know?" Loyd sat down in his seat which was in front of mine. "She's a popular pop celebrity."

"And she goes to our school?" I asked.

"Yeah," Loyd said with a big smile. "You never realized why there's an empty seat next to mine?"

"I never noticed to be honest," I responded and resumed my napping activity by resting my head on the desk once again.

"When's your next song coming out?" a student asked Irina as a group of students crowded around her desk.

"I can't tell you the exact date but I can tell you I am working hard on it," the girl gave a model answer for such questions and smiled at her fan/classmate.

Those students continued making a huge ruckus and was extremely loud, almost as if they didn't see me or even care if I was there. Don't they know that there's people that're trying to sleep in class?

Irina's existence didn't bother me although she's a popular student. Like that's something that just comes with her status as a pop idol. Therefore, I can't blame her for her popularity. However, can that popularity be taken elsewhere? Like these so called "fans", can they be taken else where? It's a huge bother to me.

"Alright settle down, settle down." Mura entered the classroom and called for peace and order in the classroom. She also shooed the students that was crowded by the doors away so that she may begin our morning homeroom in peace.

I feel as if these people were retarded because it would appear that whatever Irina says, they take it as if it was the word of God or something. Like if you see their flattering faces, you would be able to tell instantly. They feel fake and disgusting. Think of it like a bunch of disgusting pig-like creatures of the utmost gluttony crowding you, asking for food with their greatly hideous faces. You know they're trying to take advantage of you in some way or the other, but you can't do anything about it. That is Irina's life. She's constantly surrounded by fake people that's either after her money or her fame. Therefore, it must be tough for her. Like that smile of hers that she's exhibiting to these people, I could easily tell that this smile is a forced smile.

Muria sighed and I looked over out of curiosity. She was shaking her head while having a hand on her forehead as if she's having a severe headache. I could understand her pain. She's probably greatly annoyed by the high volume of these fanboys and fangirls, just like me. All we wanted is peace in this back corner of the room. Like for real.

I continued eating my lunch in a suppressed silence, allowing the other students to crowd into my corner and try and speak with Irina. From the crevice between the human wall formed around her, I could see her face and that troubled and yet determined expression. It would appear that she's determined to uphold her image of a celebrity and is forcing herself to smile. She must be extremely tired from doing this all day. Because of her dedication, I held a greater respect for her although I had only known her for today. Stay strong young lady.

Lunch break soon ended, and replacing it was Emilia's history class. I didn't pay any attention to her history lectures, and instead, I stared out the window and at the same scenery I always gazed at every single day of school.

Come to think of it, I haven't told Emilia of that lover hotel incident. Like should I tell her of Ralus sending me missions once again?

Just as I was troubled by these questions, I heard a tap on my desk. Looking over at the source of the sound, I discovered that it was Emilia, who looked at me with a somewhat irritated smile.

"May I help you?" I asked with a forced chuckle.

"Can you at least try to pretend like you're paying attention?" she asked me.

"I mean...sure."

She then leaned closer to me and whispered into my ear.

"Did something happen over the weekend?" she whispered. "I can sense something from you."

"Um...Ralus sent me a mission Saturday," I responded after being confronted by her.

"Is that so?" she returned to her full height. "Come see me after school."

"Haha," my classmates started laughing, probably thinking that I was in trouble.

I didn't pay much attention to these stupidities. Rather, I complied to Emilia's request and pretended to pay attention for the rest of the lesson. Afterwards, I just merely waited until school was over before I started for the faculty office to speak with Emilia.

"You asked for me?" I knocked on the opened faculty office door.

"Come here," Emilia said to me, gesturing for me to approach so that we may speak in private. The faculty office was quite empty, so when we were in the corner of the office room, we were given quite a large amount of privacy.

"You said Ralus sent you a mission?" Emilia asked.

"Yeah," I replied. "Is his punishment period over?"

"I'm not sure. I need to contact God and ask, but...I haven't been able to contact him in a while."

"So you've lost contact with God?"

"Sadly, yes..." she sighed and on her face was a fatigued countenance. "As for the time being, if something similar happens again or if you see him, tell me immediately."

"Got it."

"That's all for today," she said as she started walking back to her desk. "Make sure you complete whatever missions I sent you, okay?"

"You mind telling me why I need to do so?" I asked, feeling quite annoyed that the true purpose of these missions were kept hidden from me.

"That's something I'm not authorized to tell you," she sighed and shook her head.

"That excuse again," I sighed. "I don't know who to trust anymore, you know? You won't give me any information and Ralus does."

"Just know this one thing," she turned around and walked back over to me. She looked up and into my eyes. "I am on your side."

"Is that true though?" I asked as my eyes followed her back to her office desk.

"It's up to you if you want to believe me or not," she merely said. "You can go now."

I left without saying loitering about in the faculty office. As I was leaving, I received a notification on my phone.

Attend the club meeting? I mean I have 8875 SP in my balance so 200 SP isn't much of a loss to me. But, it's easy SP to be honest. So, for this easy 200 SP, I decided to go to the club meeting.

Since I didn't know what room it will be located in, I texted Mura, who informed me of the classroom that will be our club room. Therefore, after knowing the location, I started walking through the already empty hallways of my high school and towards across the access way to the second building of my school. This building is where the clubs and lab rooms were located.

As I approached our club room, I discovered that there's someone standing before the closed door. As I got closer, I recognized the light orange hair and the pretty face. It was Irina. For some odd reason, on her face was no longer that energetic smile but instead, it was a sad grim expression. An expression that I was too familiar with. It was the same expression that I always used, that same helpless and depressed look. However, unlike me, she seemed to have not given up struggling because from the corner of her eye, I saw some tears being reflected by the light that shined in through the windows behind her.

"Is something the matter?" I asked as I stopped next to her.

She glanced over in surprise, and after she noticed me, she quickly wiped away her tears and put on that facade of that fake smile once again.

"You're my classmate," she said with that energetic mask. "I'm sorry but I don't think we've introduced ourselves to each other yet."

"I don't recall you being here for the first day of school ice breaker activity," I muttered.

"Yeah," she chuckled. "Today's actually the first day that I attended school. I've been busy with my work. Nice to meet you. My name is Irina Freya Solis."

"Alevian Versteckt Enzel," I introduced myself.

"Nice to meet you, Alevian," she said with a smile. "I'll see you around."
