Promises.

Chapter 3 - Why him?

"He wants to make up for it." She continues.

"And we also want you two to cut it out, you know?" Andrea said.

"It's just for the children for today. Okay?" Claire said.

"Is this a joke? Come on you guys." I said.

Everyone stood up as the new teacher walks into the class. I'm still in shock as to what is happening.

"Oh come on, Miya. He was just making fun of you last year." Claire said.

"And he's perfect. Tall, blue eyes, basketball player. I'm already jealous." Lynn said.

"Well I don't care, Lynn. You can gladly take him." I replied.

"Also, Perfect is the wrong word, Lynn. I already want to leave this place assuming he's going to be in the same class as me." I continued.

"Say no more." Claire pointed to Liam, sitting in the last row seat, behind the seat next to my left.

What is he doing here? "Students! By 8 am all the parents whose name have been listed will go down to the football field to pick up your children."

With all of my braveness, I went up to the teacher's desk.

"Miya. I understand that you were paired up by your friends but it's too late now as the children have already known their parents' names."

"Thank you." I bowed.

"So everyone is paired." I turned to Lynn.

"Yes." She replied.

"I promise. It's going to be fun. It's just for today." Lynn said as she cups my cheeks.

Just for today. Huh?

As soon as it's 8 am, I stormed off as fast as I can, running to the field. From afar, a sea of chairs being sat on by new students as many high school seniors are walking towards their own child. Liam's voice calling my name, made me want to run faster and faster through the stairs. He grabbed my arm and pulled me off to the storage room under the ground floor stairs. He pushes me to the wall, facing me and extend his arm to my left.

If you were to ask me, honey, that's old-style flirting in romantic movies. Grow up.

"Look! I may have said and done some horrible things to you for the past years, but can we have another go? Give me a chance to be" He paused.

"Your friend?" He continued.

Thanks but that adorable face do not make me feel pity whatsoever.

To be honest, s.e.x.u.a.l harassment is a no joke case. I can forgive bullies who attack me verbally as it does not hurt me.

I guess people were right when they say he's dreamy. I can smell his breath. All and all, the appearance does not change how I think about you.

I put my hand on his c.h.e.s.t and push him back.

"No," I said as I walk away to the field.

The staffs have stepped up their advertising game. I try to find the 12th Grade row according to the paper that the teacher gave to me.

"It's there, Miya. At the back," said Liam as he pointed off to the last row.

The saddest thing is that I see one person sitting at the end of the row.

"Hello there!" I bend down to see his face as he was covering it with his hands and gaze off to the floor.

"Oh hi." He replies and stood up.

"I'm Miya. And this is Liam." Liam waved.

"We'll be your parents for the day." I continued.

"Nice to meet you."

"My name is Eric."

Eric?

I froze.
