Queen Of Adis

Chapter 139 - Playtime

Dark shadows spread out to the slimy ground and walls of the sewers, then it stopped a few steps away from *Haru's location before it became a dark mirror full of incantation.

To ensure her safety from any destructive dark mana, *Adis created a transparent barrier, or more like an enclosed arena for him and his prey.

Loud crackings of bones and joints echoed throughout the cold tunnel as he slowly clenched his fists and stretched the sides of his neck. His scarlet eyes darkened while his demon-slit pupils narrowed.

Claws and fangs drew out while veins popped out on his sinewy arms, neck, and face, as well as the intricate black rune tattoos on his entire skin.

Once again, his demon form had come to reveal itself.

And as always, except for his family, anyone who had seen his demon won't have the chance to live the next day to tell the world of its tale. And that's exactly was about to happen to these horrendous beasts and their master.

Malak, who regained his consciousness after being effortlessly and mercilessly tossed away like a ball, jerked then staggered to stand up. He looked around in a daze, still feeling dizzy and confused from what happened to him earlier. Last thing he remembered, he was at the outskirt city of Atlantis and was about to investigate a mysterious sneezing sound that came out of nowhere. But next thing he knew, he was engulfed with blackness, and then callously hurled down towards his beloved pets.

When he finally looked in front of him, his only remaining pupil dilated and his limbs suddenly felt like jelly. His complexion turned white, blue, then white again. All the hair on his nape raised and he was torn between crying or pissing his pants.

According to his reliable spy, the royal palace sent capable beings to travel back in time and apprehend him, hence he was earnestly hiding his a.s.s to everyone. But no one told him that they sent a force like no other -- the f.u.c.k.i.n.g mad king himself!

How was he supposed to outrun him? This was a freaking suicide mission. No wonder no one wanted to come with him.

Since things had already turned out like this, then all he had to do was to abandon ship and look for another huge t.h.i.g.h to hug. Perhaps, it's high time to hug the most enormous and powerful t.h.i.g.h in the world, King Adis Delacroix?

Malak instantly groveled to the ground and acted like a victim. "Y-your Majesty, I-I am so happy to see you here. P-please, help me. Someone... someone is after my life. I beg you, my king, help this lowly subject of yours to find justice."

One would be amazed at how he expertly set his waterworks in motion to manipulate others, yet he failed to notice that the King in front of him had already changed into a form meant to slaughter anyone in his way.

*Adis swiftly and disdainfully stepped back to evade the cursed creature's touch. If the insect on the ground thought that he couldn't read him like an open book, then he was dead wrong. He didn't need the seer's eyes to guess what he was thinking. Unfortunately for Malak, 'second chance' was a foreign word to him.

"This king is really bored to death," he calmly started. "I haven't played and seen blood and corpses for a while that it makes me thirsty to high heaven. So let me help you find that someone who is after your life," he slowly uttered while the side of his lips curved in a devious way.

Malak grinned triumphantly as he assumed that everything was going according to his plan.

However, his muscles went rigid upon hearing the king's revelation.

"...It's me," *Adis declared menacingly as his scarlet orbs blazed. "This king wants to play and I will take your life as a price."

With that, the two beasts who were obediently kneeling on the ground with their ears down and tails between their legs suddenly jerked as though they were electrocuted. Their entire eyes gradually turned black while they whimpered in pain.

Then, Malak's nightmare happened right before his very eyes. His two strongest pets that he personally trained since they were pups suddenly looked at him like he was their new 'playmate' ready to be shredded into pieces.

He craned his neck to look up when they loomed around him with their towering heights. He felt like his right eyeball would jump out of its socket at any moment. And when they opened their huge mouths to roar at him with all their might, his bladder finally gave up on him and he uncontrollably pissed his pants.

"M-my king, p-please forgive me... please don't kill me! I can still be of use to you. I know their plan," he prayed in panic.

He completely forgot any wicked plans he had and the tears and snots on his face were no longer fake. He subsequently nodded his head like a broken toy to convince the Demon King to spare his life. "Y-yes, that's right, y-you can use me. I-I can work for you, Your Majesty. I can be your spy, or your doormat or anything. Just p-please, please..."

*Adis ignored his plea as his right hand went to choke his throat, claws digging into his flesh, and easily lifted him up. "This king just wants to turn the story back to the way it was, where scourge like you had long been dead. Crawling out from your grave was your biggest mistake!"

He unceremoniously threw him to the right side of the wall, then pulled him back with his dark magic and threw him on the opposite side.

Even as Malak's body bounced from the momentum and landed on the floor with his disfigured face flat on the ground, he still didn't stop. He walked towards his prey and kicked his already limped body.

Afterward, he hovered his hand over Malak's head and a small magic circle appeared.

"Playing is more fun if your toy is conscious and screaming the whole time, is it not? Therefore, there's no way I would allow you to pass out on me," he continued while he looked so happy to see his victim's blood spilling on the ground.

"An eye for an eye," he continued as he shot a black flame to Malak's waist, just like how he shot Elior with his stolen gun. His sick smile became wider when he heard the demon's agonizing wail.

"Since you love playing tag, that shall be the name of our game. The rule is simple. At the count of ten, my new pets will come after you. I shall set you free if you can outrun them and appear before me again. But if they find you... then off with your head."

Malak shook his head while he was sniveling like a stray kid. There's no way he could win this hell of a game. He's dead no matter where he would go.

Then, his body suddenly froze when he realized something.

W-wait! If he could run a short distance away, he could just travel back to the future and forget this nightmare. Right, what a brilliant idea!

With that in mind, he crawled up while pressing the wound on his waist. He nodded his head in agreement and turned around to leave. But before he could even take a step forward, the psycho king called him out again.

"Oh, before you go..." *Adis trailed off. He yanked his hair back with so much hatred and did the unthinkable.

Without any warning, his dark claws gouged his amber orb from his socket.

"Aaaaahh!"
