Earlier in the afternoon, Yu Jian had received information from Yu Yue's college Dean that she had been selected for a foreign student exchange programme. He had informed him of this news on a personal level since it still hadn't been made known to the other students and faculty in the college.

Therefore, coming to a swift decision Yu Jian told the other two that if anybody asks why they had rushed to the room they could just use this news to disperse any unwanted attention and questions.

Sometimes, when you anticipate an event so much, it fails to meet your expectations. Before Yu Yan could even reach the first floor she saw her father coming downstairs. He had a serene expression on his face as if nothing untoward had happened to one of his daughters.

Looking at his face and steady, unhurried gait she couldn't understand the situation. She went up to him with a smile thinking to probe him about the situation.

Before she could even open her mouth he told her, "Yanyan there is good news. Your sister just received the information that she had been selected by her college for a foreign student exchange programme. She'll be going overseas. Come, congratulate her."

Listening to his words her smile became stiff and then she saw Yu Yue standing outside one of the rooms, looking for the whole world as if she was so giddy with the news that she didn't know what to do.

Yu Yan was so angry that she wanted to smash something to vent her anger, disappointment and fury but more than that what really made her hate the situation was that she still didn't know whether her plan had come to fruition or not and if the other two were trying to cover it up.

Anyways, the three of them went downstairs and Yu Jian announced the news to everyone present. It was as if he couldn't contain his smile and pride. After hearing the wonderful news everyone started congratulating the Eldest Miss of the Yu family.

That anybody barely acknowledged her presence after the announcement made Yu Yan feel even more resentful as well as awkward. All eyes should be on her, it was her day but this unexpected news had derailed all her plans. What made her feel even more unsettled was that she couldn't find Yuanzhi anywhere and she was somewhat afraid to contact him on his phone.

Somehow the party came to an end and the guests started dispersing one after another. Afterwards, her father asked her to go for rest in her room and his expression showed that this was not a suggestion but an order and if it wasn't followed what would come after that would be something she couldn't handle.

In the past few months, Yu Yan had never seen such a scary expression on his face and it shook her heart. Nodding to show her compliance with the order she went up to her room.

Su Li had just changed her clothes and was trying to rest her feet when she was called into the study. She knew that the system won't be able to suppress the effects of the aphrodisiac for much longer and the effects would be even more potent due to being suppressed beforehand.

It would take a toll on her health therefore, she decided to not disclose anything significant of what had happened or any of the behind the scenes machinations to Yu Jian. Also, out of three chances she had decided to give to her younger sister, this was one strike against her.

Su Li wanted to settle the accounts for this incident with her on a personal level and would not involve anyone else. With her mind made up, she went to the study. She saw the guy who had busted open the door standing in front of her father.

From the looks of it, he must have already questioned that hoodlum. Anyways, it was none of her business as that guy was just a pawn for Yu Yan so she would leave him to Yu Jian to settle.

Yu Jian questioned Yueyue about her health, her well - being and then after beating around the bush for a few minutes, he asked her to explain what had happened earlier. She simply informed him that she was feeling a bit dizzy during the party so she went to get refreshed and after she left the restroom, she saw a guy standing there and he asked her if she was okay and if she needed some help.

Since the guy looked like a gentleman she didn't give it much thought and accepted his help. When they reached the room, she dodged his dishonest hands. By that time she was already feeling much better but knowing his intentions she felt furious and in a rash decision she dislocated his offending wrist.

Su Li also expressed that she wasn't sorry for her decision since anyone who tries to harm her would have to face the consequences. She also told him that she realised that this could have been planned and executed by some of their business rivals or by someone with nefarious schemes but she herself didn't want to know the ins and outs of the situation.

Since she herself wasn't interested in such despicable schemes, she would leave everything else to him. Afterwards, sighting that today had been rough on her she asked to be excused from further questions and rushed back to her room.

Yu Jian listened as his daughter explained everything with a stoic look as if what she was talking about hadn't happened to her but to someone unrelated to them. His heartfelt uncomfortable. He didn't even know what words to say to his daughter.

Yueyue had been without a female figure in her life for the past eight years and he had always tried his best to give her all the love and care of both the parents. It was really tragic that both sets of her grandparents had already left the mortal world before her birth so, all in all, for all these years it was just him and his daughter.

Yu Jian had never even thought in his dreams that she would be hurt to such an extent. Though Yueyue hadn't shown it on her face in her heart, she must be feeling thousands of emotions and no one to discuss them with. He wanted to find the mastermind of this incident as soon as possible so as to vent on both of their behalfs.

Earlier when he had asked Zixi to look into that person's background, he was informed that the said person was a friend of his younger daughter and he had come for her birthday celebrations from the other city. It was only then he remembered that there had been some sort of introduction earlier in the evening but he hadn't paid much attention to it.

Now he was regretting his negligence. Learning about that despicable persons' background Yu Jian had a moment's thought if Yu Yan was the preparator behind what had happened today but then he didn't believe it in his own heart. Although he knew that she was street smart, she wouldn't have the guts to do something like this under his nose.

When he had decided to bring Yu Yan back to the residence Yu Jian had resolved to himself that he would close one eye to any of her petty schemes since she would definitely have some negative thoughts regarding a paternal sister who had the entire world handed to her on a silver platter.

Also, outside it was a dog eat dog world so she might try to influence things in a way that was more beneficial to her. He had decided to give her the best food, shelter, clothes, let her study in a university and later on prepare a generous amount of dowry for her.

That would be the extent of his responsibility towards her. If Yu Yan had learned bad things outside and tried to reach for things that she had no right to, then he would make alternate plans accordingly. But Yu Jian didn't feel she was involved in this matter. It might be some rival or such trying to raise a storm in his family and take advantage of it.

Zixi had questioned the other person and he had broken under some mild torture and confessed that it was his own thought. He wanted to attract such a pretty princess but she hadn't paid him much attention during the party. This had infuriated him and he had done such an unthinkable thing in a spur of the moment.

Paying attention to the recorded words Yu Jian couldn't find any loopholes in his words but he wasn't too sure if everything said was a complete truth or not. Moreover, he was more interested in the person who didn't put him- Yu Jian in his eyes and thought of maligning his daughter.

After considering all aspects of the situation carefully he simply ordered to break all ten fingers of that person and to throw him out in the wilds. Whether he lived or died would depend on that person's luck. Since that boy had dared to covet his daughter and was unscrupulous, he had to deal with the aftermath. If he died it was well and good but if he lived, it was uncertain whether he would ever be able to use his hands again or not.

Ruthless and tyrannical were the options Yu Jian would go by if anyone dared to harm his precious pearl - his firstborn daughter.
