-Sis, what are you doing now?

Startled from my thoughts by my brother, I smiled. After signaling the other armchair, he sat and leaned a little towards myself but also putting himself comfortable. His two long legs crossed one over the other. The head resting relaxedly on one of his two big hands. The other on the palm rest. His expression relaxed. Happy.

"Beautiful…"

-Sarah?

-Sorry, I was distracted by your beauty. Is a pity that you are my brother… - I pointed out sighing

Alek laughed loudly.

-Don't make me laugh. You will break my ice cold image.

-You have one? - I continued the joke.

-No. - Alek put himself again comfortable. - Leaving the joke aside. Are you happy to be single?

-Yeah. Not only happy, also more lightweight. Two less bastards in my life.

-If I had know… - He lamented.

-Don't. Even I didn't realize what was happening until it was this late. They covered it exceptionally well. But let's not talk about them. They don't deserve to even be mentioned. It's a waste of spit and words. Unnecessary and unpleasant.

-My little sister is always so cold.- He shrugged.

-I know. And don't forget evil. - Amused I mentioned to him.- Her face when I dictated her sentence... So horrified. - I grinned.- It was so gratifying.

-You are making an amazing face sis.

-But beautiful nevertheless.

-Narcissistic.

-No. In this aspect of life, I am super realistic.

-Whatever you say sis. Whatever you say. So, what are your plans for this day? Your dear brother can spend time with you. Today is my day off.

-Not much. I was thinking to go shopping for a dress and matching shoes for dad's banquet. The one that will happen next week. Then maybe go to eat outside, there is a new restaurant that I want to try, and later go to the cinema. 'Fantasy journey: come on heroes, let's go' looks good.

-Then it's decided.

***

-Well, that final was unexpected. - I declared after leaving the movie theater where we had been the last two hours.

-Yes. Who would have thought that the heroes will become the new villains. I will go with you when the sequel comes out too.

-Of course brother.- I grabbed Alek's arm blissful. - Maybe it will become a trilogy…

-Don't say more. I will be your escort too.

-Thank you brother ~♡.

We walked the venue leisurely. There were different stands along the streets. "Now that I remember. Today is San Rick". The stands sold candies, amulets, rings and multiple other traditional things to buy on this holiday. My gaze traveled around them but stopped on a small but colorful stand. They were selling big and appetizing cotton candy. "Wah… Looks delicious"

-Let my arm free. I will buy that cotton candy for you. Wait for me there. -Said my brother capturing my sight and pointing to the wall of the building behind us.

-Yes, brother.- I answered while I released his arm from my embrace.

I saw him go to the row of three or four people in front of his destination. Waiting for his turn.

"Normal that Marla hates me. My family is one of the most influential of the capital. We have more riches than we can spend in several generations. My parents not only are a famous couple with a very sickening sweet romantic story, they also are famous in their respective fields of work. My elder brother is one of the bachelors more seeked by the ladies. He has intelligence and beauty. Also has a gentle character, is respectful, polite and has great future projects for when he takes over the company. A real jewell if you ask me… Then, there is me. A spoiled fairy..."

-Sarah!! Be careful!! - My brother shouted loud while he was runnig trying to come to my side.

-Eh? - Startled by Alek voice. I turned around by reflex.

Something crashed into my head throwing me to the ground.

-Hurts… Brother, it hurts...-I whispered before my mind went completely black.

-Alek!! What happened?! Is she okay?! - Luke said coming running to his son side followed by his wife.

-Sarah??! - Said Marina. With the face red as a tomato and with shortness of breath. She took her son hands trembling.

-She is in there. - Signaling the operation room. - They haven't told me anything! She was losing a lot of blood! She was white… - Alek couldn't finish his words. He was fl.u.s.tered. Livid.

-She will be okay. She is our daughter. She is strong. - Said Luke trying to calm his wife and son. - But what happened? Was an accident? A car?

-No, father. It wasn't a car accident. I left her alone for a couple of minutes to buy her some cotton candy. Then some flower pot crashed into little sis. I tried to take her away from there but I was far from her spot. So I shouted a loud 'be careful' but… It did not work. There was not time.

-Is okay son. Is okay. This is not your fault. - He embraced her remorseful son while holding back the tears that wanted to emerge. - And she will have nothing.

-Yes. Our daughter has always been strong, determined and with a great d.e.s.i.r.e to live. - Marina said trying to self-convince herself and her family.

-Yes, she is.

-But a flower pot?! That's ridiculous. How can a flower pot fall down like that?! - Asked Marina to her son and husband. - Could it be a coincidence? - Fl.u.s.tered and a little paranoid, she continued to ask more questions. - She left that two bastards and then she ends up being treated in the hospital.... Could It be a revenge? Marla hates her now as she has lost face and the possibility to marry a giant. Could this be because of her? - She reasoned to her family.

-No problem, mom. Dad and I are going to investigate everything about this incident. We will look under the stones if necessary. If it's not an accident and this indeed caused by someone we will make them pay.- Furiously said Alek.

-Yes. Darling, baby, you investigate it. If it's you everything will be investigated. I know the police will make a good job… but you are her family, you will be more conscientious. And you have more knowledge of how some families works...

-No problem.- Responded her husband.

Suddenly the sign that indicates that an operation is underway was extinguished, attracting the eyes of those present. They looked carefully at the door and saw a doctor coming out. Seeing them, he went that way.

-Are you the family of the little girl that had something crash on the head?

-Yeah. Is my sister okay? - They looked to him expectantly.

-Well, we have done a cranial surgery to remove part of the bone of the head because the object that fell on her had damaged it and the pieces could be a potential danger. -He started explaining. - Then we had to implant a plaque in the area to cover the anterior hole, protecting the brain. Not doing so would also have been a risk. Because if she hit that area, the damage would be done to a vital organ, as it's of course, the brain. We make sure to look for other damage, of course. We didn't see anything. We administered some blood to replenish what she lost and some morphine for her pain. - The doctor suspired and then continued. - But the brain is a delicate organ. We can't assure you that all is okay now. We have to wait for her to wake up and once she does, we will do more tests to rule out other types of injury. What we can assure you, is that your daughter has suffered a blow to the head, so it sure she has a serious contusion and as a result she may suffer from excruciating headaches from time to time.

-What can be this others damages you speak of? - Said Luke looking directly to this doctor while he grabbed his wife's hand who was shaking from the impact of the news.

-She can have some memory and speech loss. She can have problems movings her arms or legs. - He looked at the horrified expressions that the family were making and tried to comfort them. - There may be a lot of trouble or there may be nothing at all. While her wound look horribly shocking, the object didn't crash into her completely. If it weren't only some part of it that hit her head, and it was all the object, she will be probably dead. So there's hope. Your daughter and sister is alright. She may have problems but you didn't lose her. And she will definitely need your support.

-When can we she her doctor? - Marina asked with an urgent need to see her baby.

-Well. She will be some days in the Intensive care unit on the third floor. Talk to the nurses there. They will inform you of the rules. But I do recommend you to not agitate her. She needs calm and a lot of rest.

-Thanks. - Said the three of them.

After saying thanks to the doctor, they went directly to the third floor where their daughter and sister were being transferred at that time.

-Our baby… Thanks the God you are still alive. - Cried Marina relieved to see his daughter, lying in bed and with several medications being administered by an intravenous route, but alive. - Baby… You worried us.

She touched the crystal that separates her daughter, now pale, unconscious and with a bandage on her head. Her husband and son imitated the gesture as both of them also placed their hand on the cold crystal.

-We are happy that you didn't leave us, baby. - Said Luke trying to stop some tears from falling.

-Sis, I know that you can't listen to our voices yet but you worried us to death. Sis, don't worry, will catch the culprit, even if this was not planned and was an accident. They will face the consequences. We will give you justice. I promise.
