Raydor Holy Sword War Journal

89. The First Formation of the Freshman Raidor Army

Several months have passed since Raydor began his expedition into the Eastern border region.

Sven Arbeil, an orphan of the Earl of Arbeil family, vows allegiance to Raydor as a military master.

The Viscount Wolfert family was subdued by Sven's ploy with little damage to both enemy allies.

Plus - although there was a twist, the Baron Eladin and Viscount Ouigist surrendered to Raydor and dawned on the territory, and two strong habits descended under their umbrellas: Shirley Eladin and Justy Ouigist.

This led to the majority of the border nobility known as the 'Eight East' being placed under the control of Raydor, with the exception of the Viscount Dolphins, which have already perished in the battle against the Empire.

And the Royal Army - the Leidor Army - finally ended its regroupment and proceeded north.

The next goal is Count Calcifer territory. It is one of the betrayal nobles who have turned back to the Empire and a territory of great nobility with strong powers alongside the Earl of Arbeil family in the Eastern border region.

Once there was only a thousand, the army recruited soldiers in the conquered towns and has already swelled up to five thousand.

It shouldn't be easy to manage a soldier who has quadrupled, but the problem has been solved by gaining more competent clerks and civilians through a series of battles.

Originally, Darren Garst, who led the cavalry as a thousand horseman, was appointed interim general.

And Sarah Liffett, a female knight who is a deputy, and Justy Oygist, who was subordinated through the duel, are consolidating Darren's left and right.

In addition, the knight captain of the Arbeil family, the soldier captain of the Baron Eladin family, who Sven Arbeil had taken as his escort, was newly appointed as a thousand captain.

Each of these five leads a thousand soldiers, leading with horses as generals, followed by Raydor, who aspires to Count Calcifer's territory.

Next to Raydor was also the figure of Sven, who became a military teacher.

He was once a boy who was betrayed by his kin, Viscount Wolfert, and fled with his territory destroyed by the Empire, but now he rides his horse to every child with a grand chest up.

"We will soon arrive in Count Calcifer's territory. His Highness Raydor."

"Right."

Raydor nodded at Sven's words.

The Count Calcifer family is the largest nobleman in the Eastern border region.

Its strength is one of the finest, and if they had resisted without surrendering to the Empire, the Imperial Army must not have been able to arrive as far as Fort Blaine with ease.

In addition, the Count Calcifer family has the Baron Kyrgyzstan family and the Viscount Kubertos family under its umbrella.

The total strength of the three aristocrats is over 10,000. Reports of the scouts we sent out for reconnaissance indicated that enemy soldiers were already assembled in a town called Cultris and ready to intercept this one.

"This is going to be the first substantial formation of this army."

"You make me cry about the showdown in the first place. I hope the soldiers don't rise."

"It's okay. Mr. Darren is brilliant, and there's Mr. Justy."

Sven confidently breasts Raydor's concerns.

Enemy forces are twice as powerful as their own. If it is in accordance with the foundations of the Military Law, it is a good occasion to withdraw without fighting.

But Sven has no idea he's going to lose.

I was convinced that defeat could not be possible for this army that we had created with great diligence.

"The Count Calcifer family is indeed huge. Even if my parents were alive, they wouldn't be a decent match to fight and win. But right now, we're losing morale and we're not in a situation where we can do enough."

The Count Calcifer family is a traitor who betrayed the Zain royal family and turned back to the Alsline Empire.

That may have been a sensible decision as a nobleman to survive and preserve the territory. But few of the soldiers who value loyalty feel dissatisfied or distrustful towards the lord who worked disloyalty.

"Not to mention, here is the Holy Sword Holder who defeated the Empire. It must be the enemy that's standing up."

"I hope so. But I can't be the only one who works."

"Right. We want the army we've just formed to gain experience in action, and if possible, we want to win without the help of His Highness."

Sven nods and agrees.

No matter how much power the Holy Sword has, the army that just relies on its power will become an unreliable gathering of the U.N. at times of need.

We also needed to let him go through a real war here in order to complete the armies he had struggled to build.

"Rest assured. I will not disturb Your Highness."

"Naturally. When Calcifer, we are enough!

Apparently, he was listening to a conversation between Raydor and Sven, and Darren and Justy run over on horses to strongly assure him.

Darren Garst with a brilliant face like yours.

Justy Oygist with muscles on his scholarly intelligent face.

Although their faces and personalities are very different, as a samurai they seem to feel comfortable with each other, they are quickly cracking it down.

They were also strategizing about the Calcifer Count's invasion late last night, and the voice of an incandescent argument rang all the way outside the room.

"The glorious first battle of the nascent Raydor army. I'll hang in Garst's name and make sure to decorate the victory!"

"Likewise, to clear up the stigma of an oigist who once betrayed you, let us break down the Count Calcifer family and let you see it!

"It's a reliable thing. Nice to meet you."

Raydor responded with a smile to the loyalty of the two samurai.

These two would never betray Raydor's expectations.

I don't know how powerful Count Calcifer is, but he must snap down on a single armored sleeve.

(Come on, let's go with the showdown. Being banished to the border by myself, I got a minister. I got the army. I've got the power! We can't stop this anymore!

I'm sure Granard will regret hearing about his victory.

Thinking of his brother's face treading on the group Tai, Raydor spills a hoot of cold laughter.

necessarily show victory in this battle - again with that firm determination, squeezing the horse's reins.

But...

"My lord Raydor -! It's urgent news!

"Ah?"

There was someone waving at me like a patter and a wave, mocking Raydor's determination like that.

The man standing in the direction of progress that the Leidor army is headed for is a secret detective formerly known as the 'Fire Eating Bird'. The man, who was supposed to have infiltrated Count Calcifer's territory with his men, parked his horse beside him and waited for Raydor.

"Flarebird......? What the hell is going on?

"Yes, yes, excuse me for a moment."

"Fire Eating Birds" - Flarebird rides his horse and lines up next to Raydor.

As usual, the man who smoked begins to report to Raydor in a careless voice.

"There was a problem in the town of Cultris, so I came to report it."

"Problem? Were you even reinforcements to the enemy?

My concern is that the Imperial Army will come in to lay down in this battle.

For the Empire, the Eastern Border Region is part of a territory that has been painstakingly shredded. If they recapture it there, this battle itself will be wasted and all that remains is defeat.

I was treading that there was no room for interference due to the damage at Fort Blaine, but have you come here to join the war?

I thought so and it was a nervous face Raydor, but Flarebird shook his head.

"No, it's the other way around."

"Reverse?"

"The Count Calcifer family has been destroyed. Looks like the barons of Kyrgyzstan and the Viscount Kubertos got hit together."

"Ha!?"

In response to an unexpected report, Raydor accidentally turned his voice upside down.

First battle for the nascent Raydor army. The battle, which was supposed to be decorated with a glorious victory, seemed to have ended with the result of just an unbeatable victory.
