Sera & Finedric: "Happy Birthday, Fina!"

Mama and Papa's voice resounded inside the room, accompanied by popping sounds and claps from them both.

I was actually concerned about how there're those popping confetti in this world, but I feel like I should give it up and don't ask any further.

Fina: "Thank you, Mama! Papa!"

Today is my 15th birthday.

Time flew by so fast and by the time I notice it, I'm already one year more closer to being an a.d.u.l.t here, according to this village's culture.

I took my first coming of the age when I was 12 years old. Strangely enough, that was also around the time when I notice the changes in my body becoming more of that of an a.d.u.l.t. I mean, when I was a human in my former world, I got my first period when I was around 11. It was later in this reincarnated life of mine.

My h.i.p.s got wider, my legs grew longer, my wavy hair got longer, and my c.h.e.s.t… grew…

We spent the day celebrating my birthday. Mama cooked a lot for us and Papa bought me a gift. A pair of crystal like hair clips. They're blue balls that can be used as a scrunchie. It's a wonder how it works. He said that it was made specially for me, so I accepted it gratefully. They're so pretty, I'm really glad to receive it.

Ehe~ I'm really loved~

All these years, I've been with Mama more than anyone in this world. Second would be Papa. I played with the other kids during my break time but most of my time is spent with studying.

Mama used to work as a teacher shortly after she became an adventurer. She worked as an adventurer most of the time, but during her break, she would then teach part time in a noble school. Papa was also an adventurer that time when they met.

That's why, learning from Mama is a great. Her teachings and lessons are all easy to understand. Because of that, I've got a fair view of things in this world.

Aside from studying, I also used my time to practice magic. Sometimes, Papa would bring me with him to hunt monsters around the area of the village, and that would be my time to earn experience points to level up.

At any rate, I've become a fairly powerful Magus according to Mama. But that's when I noticed it…

Why did I become I Magus?

I know. It felt like it was the natural course of the events; that I will become a Magus because I have the potential to be so.

I have almost unlimited amount of Crysaztel. My Magical Attack is more than enough, rather, powerful than any Magus around our village aside from Leila. It's easy for me to learn Magic skills. For an ordinary person, it would take around a month or two to learn one Magic skill. And that takes practice for a whole day.

Yet for me, I learn three to four magic skills a week. It was sooner that I learned almost all the Magic Skills Mama taught me, which were the Astre, Meria, and Wisona Magic type skills.

But that's the problem… Why am I so good at being a Magus? Why am I so good at using magic?

I'm not boasting. I'm purely bewildered…

That's because…

I wanted to be a physical type fighter!

I love running. I love moving my body around! I feel refreshed when I do so. And when I do, I get to clear my mind of useless thoughts, and I don't have to socialize with people! Because I'm not good at that!

I-I'm not proud of it, of course…

But that's it. From my games, I had a remarkable amount of knowledge about these kind of setting. So if ever I was given a chance to pick, I would certainly go for a physical type.

Yet… Muu… I became a Magus even before I realize it.

Haah. Now that I've become one, it's not like I can change it anymore. I can try becoming one, but the potential would only go to waste. Better accept my fate and just do my best at being a magic user.

Villager A: "But I heard that the monsters there are dwindling. Won't this trip be safer than any other we have been before?"

Villager B: "You don't understand, Villager A. That's actually why we need to think about it more. Lessening monsters means that there's actually something there that is killing them off."

Villager A: "As expected of Villager B… I never thought of that. And the rumors about the new demon lord using it as a base. *sigh* It'll be harder to collect more resources…"

Hm? What's the commotion? Also… Is it just me or are they calling each other 'Villager A and B'…?

The village's miners are gathered in front of the village hall, Papa is actually among them. From the looks of it, they're discussing about something. Some have grim looks, some are exasperated. It's hard to guess what they're talking about.

I'm done with my studies and magic training for today, so here I am, taking my time enjoying my afternoon with a stroll.

Leila: "It looks like they're discussing about the mine at the Dastrientel Mountain Range. … Hmm. Ahh, I see. So that's why he wanted me to come, that Dear Brother of mine."

Fina: "Leila! You're here!"

I jumped to her for a hug. I've missed her. I rubbed my cheeks against hers to feel her warmth. Muu!! It's so soft…!

It's been a while since I saw her. For about 3 months, I guess?

Leila: "Yes. Unh. But I'll be only… Mmh… staying for two days. I still have matters to do with the Association. Rather, I can't breathe."

Leila is my father's little sister. I don't really know what her exact age is, but she definitely looks younger than me. I remember her being around already ever since I've come to realize that I was reincarnated to this world. And since then, her appearance haven't changed even the least.

It's a real mystery…

All I know is that she's a Magus affiliated with the Guild, which is ran by the Association. Other than that and her being my aunt, nothing.

She just comes here every now and then, just like right now. And it looks like she's really busy with her job.

I wonder what's she's doing?

Leila: "Dear Brother, I've come. It looks like you're having a problem?"

Finedric: "Oh, Leila! I've been expecting you. Right. It's about the mine at the Dastrientel Mountain Range."

Leila joined the conversation among the group of burly men. I feel a bit intimidated by them…

My golly… Leila's really m.a.t.u.r.e…~

Leila: "Hmm… I've already heard about the occurrence at that place. It looks like things will be a bit hectic from now on."

Finedric: "What do you… Ah. Let's go inside for now. We'll talk about it then."

I seated where Leila is supposed to seat and she sat down on my l.a.p instead. She's a lot smaller than me so it's not really a problem. But, there're other chairs that aren't occupied yet…

Everyone seated while waiting for Papa to speak. He shoot a glance at me and thought for a while. After that, he just heaved a light sigh and turn his way towards the others.

Is she perhaps thinking if I should be here, or something?

At any rate, this gathering…

It's kind of like the round table of Arthur…

Finedric: "Now that Leila is here, we will be starting the main discussion."

This sums up the matters at hand.

The Dastrientel Mountain Range.

A mountain range surrounding a great forest and acts as a boundary between the Aelven Continent, Faunalian Continent, and the Demon Continent. It is said that a remnant of the Evil God was sealed at a certain location inside the mountain range. As a result, the mountain is brimming with magical properties and makes it a perfect place for mining. And to make matters better, the Evil God is only restricted in the place where it is sealed and is not able to roam around the place.

Only a few have known that fact. Because of that, our village and some Aelven tribes got to make the place for ourselves. Well, there seems to be dispute with the other tribes from time to time, but it's not a problem compared to what we have in our hand right now.

We're actually just right beside that mountain range, being located at the Aelven Continent. It will take a week travel to reach there so it's not really that close, but it's also not that far. If something, or someone from that place wanted to go hostile around the place, then this village will be its first target.

However, during the recent century, it's been peaceful. No sign of vile monsters, or anything that may harm our village. This village even set up a mine there to gather important materials just like the Glow Stone that is used to make this Analysis Bangle.

It's called stone, but it's actually a metal though.

Anyways, here comes the problem.

The monster population there have been dwindling as of late. Mostly, the Apparition type monsters.

I guess they're like ghost-like monsters?

I've only seen Beast Type monsters, to be honest. So I can't imagine how they look.

The Association where Leila is working at is linking it to the revival of the new Demon Lord. It is rumored that the forest just beyond that mountain range is being occupied by the new Demon Lord and is trying to regain its strength.

At the moment, it's still considered as a simple rumor. But because of the strange disappearance of monsters in the area, it is now believed that the new Demon Lord have begun to move.

So comes the second problem. What about the mine?

Should it be abandoned or continued? Since it's still a rumor, and there haven't been a solid proof that a new Demon Lord has really emerged, it's still a question for the miners in our village.

And that's where Leila enters.

To help the miners whenever they venture the mountain range and to act as a guard. That will be the role of Leila this time.

Leila is known as a strong adventurer, whose name even reached the other races. That's why, it's a perfect job for someone as strong as her, since the opponent here may or may not be the Demon Lord, if not a strong monster.

The mining is a routine once every month, and tomorrow's the date for this month. To be honest, if not for her, then this mining business would come to a halt from tomorrow on.

Leila: "I refuse. I'm busy. I'm waiting for a Mission from the Association. And for the time being, I'm tasked to look over the area, so I'm not that free to be an escort at the moment."

… Said she.

She leaned her body on my c.h.e.s.t so I hugged her back and placed my chin over her head. Ahh… She's so fluffy and cute…~ Myuu~~

Finedric: "Just as I thought… *sigh*"

Everyone inside the room heaved either a grunt or a sigh. They all understand how busy Leila is, and understand that what she's doing is for the betterment of the Association, which is then benefits our village. That's why, they easily accepted her response, even though she said it quite curtly.

Leila: "But I know someone who can go."

Finedric: "Is that true?!"

Maybe it's one of her colleagues at the Association?

Leila: "Yes. Rather, you all know her too well."

Finedric: "Huh?"

Suddenly, Leila looked up and stared at my eyes.

M-Muuu… I have a bad feeling about this…

Leila: "You can just bring little Fina here with you."

… Myu…?

All: "Huuuuuuuuuhhhh?!?!?!"

I… I'm not 'little'!!
