The Group had left early the next morning after a little practice on how to drive the buggies and making sure they were prepared, Bran had insisted on bringing more Fried chicken and food than was possibly necessary but Annabeth just put it in her bag.

The buggies were rather small two-seaters with the motor in the back and a small windshield in the front, Bran had handed the group some full head helmets and explained the overall how to of the buggy before jumping in with Will who was ready to go in his buggy,

"Will, Be safe" Shawn said over the roar of the engines,

"You too Shawn, Lead the way!" Will said,

Since Shawn had the crystal he would take the lead, Annabeth would keep track of where they were and how close they were to the estimated destination,

1 hour later

The Ride wasn't even close to being over yet with only one-fourth of the ride done,

"From here onward we'll have to be careful and on the lookout for Desert Serpents a long time ago when Medusa was created aka became the Queen of Snakes many of the snakes and serpent monsters grew stronger and larger, The desert serpents are very large and can basically swim in sand so as this is their birthplace we are in their territory now..." Bran explained

"What's the best way to avoid them?" Will asked

"You don't..." Annabeth said

"If they find you the only thing you can do is kill them or escape their territory, The Desert Serpents are special due to them claiming territory, when they claim territory only other serpents will notice it and avoid it, they never enter another's territory or leave theirs when they have the choice," Annabeth continued,

"How large is their territory?" Will asked

"normally a mile in circ.u.mference, Due to their speed we'll need to be faster and smarter to escape them," Annabeth continued

"Only fight them if you can't escape them, arrows will only annoy them, but if you can aim for their eyes, they have surprisingly keen eyesight and much worse other senses, That's the only known monster in these parts so let's continue," Shawn said

The group got back to their buggies and started their journey once more,

It wasn't even half an hour before they noticed large movements from the sand and took off as fast as they could, Annabeth and Bran had drawn their bow's and readied themselves,

"Annabeth! don't shoot! It isn't following us yet! Wait for it to start chasing us and remember what I said aim for its eye's!" Shawn yelled

"I remember!" Annabeth responded

"Hey guys what's that in front of us?" Will called over the headsets communication/Radio function,

In front of the group was an even larger serpentine form under the dunes,

"What about their territories!" Will cried

"Gods..." Annabeth muttered

"It's the mother! they happen so rarely that I didn't want to jinx it but every hundred or so years they are able to give birth! When they give birth they grow even more! practically doubling in size for every birthing, But the become slower yet stronger, When they give birth it's children share territories yet the territory expands for each child!"

"So you mean to tell me for each child this serpent thing has its territory grows a mile!?" Will asked

"Unfortunately yes..." Annabeth responded

"Alright full speed! we'll try to outrun them! if we cant... Well, leave that to me!" Shawn said pressing the gas peddle to the floor and going straight down the dune before the launching of the next one and trying to leave its territory unsure of how large it was,

"Hey... Shawn... They noticed us" Annabeth whispered as she looked behind them,

"How close?"

"100 meters and closing" Will cut in,

"Will pay attention to driving! Bran keep an eye on them and tell us their distance!" Shawn ordered

"Alright, Annabeth any wisdom for us?!" Shawn asked

"Uh... Don't get us killed?!" Annabeth said,

"Ha! That was the plan!" Shawn laughed,

After nearly 20 minutes

"Are we still not out of its Territory?!" Will yelled

"Is it still chasing us!?" Annabeth retorted

"Then keep moving!" Shawn said

"At this rate, we'll be out of gas in ten minutes!" Bran said,

"Dang it!" Shawn yelled before turning to Annabeth,

"Annabeth get ready your gonna take the wheel! The water may have dried up but I can still feel the lingering power of the ocean, I have a plan get ready to drive! Trust me!" Shawn yelled getting ready to slow just enough before jumping out,

"I'm not leaving you!" Annabeth cried

"No your not! you're following my plan! Just do it!" Shawn yelled before he nearly stopped the buggy and jumped out with Annabeth instantly taking his place and driving away,

coming fast were 5 very large serpents about 15ft wide and over 50 yards long with the mother snake being four times that,

"Come on you F.u.c.ks!" Shawn said taking off his helmet and bringing out his sword, He wasn't lying he actually could feel the remaining power of the ocean so he called on it trying to use the water to trap them,

The Serpents were less than 100 feet away and the trap was all ready, Shawn waited with his sword to his side his feet using his Intent magic to control the kinetic energy levitating him in the air by a solid few feet, the sand had become muddy and was ready to turn into concrete the instant he wanted it to,

The Serpents arrived at the trap and instantly it turned to Cement, Shawn didn't waste any time he used his intent magic to help restrain the serpents who were flailing any free part of there body, Shawn was so fast he may as well have teleported to the serpents, Raising his sword he used the kinetic energy to form a much larger invisible blade and cleaved the heads off one of the smaller serpents,

The mother didn't like that...

The mother Enraged Shattered the Cement and began attacking Shawn...
