Rebellious Path

Chapter 57 - The System Tried to Scam me

As if awakening from a nightmare, I instantly jumped the moment I woke up. I was sweating all over. Those Low Mortal Guards are strong, incredibly so. Is this the difference between tiers and such? I have a few clues about the Godhood Ranks, but I certainly don't know everything, only a few speculations.

However, before I come back, I must form a proper strategy… They could dispel the dark most that I cast with my level 90 dark magic. They could kill me in a flash too... The most troublesome one is probably the one who cast the silencing skill, but I couldn't affirm what he had looked like as they basically have the same appearance. (Just why do you have to make it this hard!?), I screamed in my thoughts.

I couldn't think of anything, so I decided to mess with the system. With just a thought, the system panel appeared. The updated one, of course.

After contemplating for a while, I decided to open the system settings and see if I could change a couple of things to set it to my advantage.

As I saw it, I facepalmed myself, seeing that there were barely anything that I could use… Did the system update just for this? I can't even f.u.c.k.i.n.g do anything with this shit. I sighed as I took a couple of peeks here and there and decided to activate the floating window for my status and everything else except for the Show Spells. I didn't activate the only remaining one cuz there's some kind of impending force forcing me to not turn it on. Probably the true god being lazy.

The best one in the whole thing was f.u.c.k.i.n.g unavailable too. It was f.u.c.k.i.n.g annoying, not gonna lie, but I can't do anything about it. I just shook my head as I swiped the panel away and came back to reality… or dream, perhaps?

Just as I got rid of the panel, the floating window that I turned on immediately took place. I just smiled to myself seeing that. I could finally easily see my status when I'm fighting rather than blindly fight.

HP: 124,927/124,927

MP: 450,690/450,690

I finally decided what I should do even though I only thought of one action. But that just made me worried that I'll die again and waste another life, so I decided to review my skills and summoned the system panel for skills.

--------Skills--------

[Observe]

[Sound Barrier]

[Barrier (LVL. 90)]

[Earth God's Spear/Terra Die Framea (LVL. 70)]

[Warp (LVL. 10)]

[Pocket Space/Inventory (MAX)] (Unavailable During Challenge)

[Pocket World (LVL. 1)] (Unavailable During Challenge)

[Improvised Magic Spells]

[Item Duplicate] (Unavailable During Challenge)

[Eye of Space (Low Mortal)]

As I saw it, I couldn't help but squint my eyes, noticing three of probably the most essential skills that I had WAS NOT F.U.C.K.I.N.G AVAILABLE! Well, at least the skill that I need is not unavailable, thank the heavens.

As that finished, I completely removed the shackles that held me and took a peek outside, afraid that every time I die, everything else restores. Fortunately, it didn't, so I released a sigh of relief as I teleported out of the cell.

As I neared the door leading to the next part of this prison, I walked slowly and cautiously as I imagined the various scenarios in my head. Just as I reviewed all my skills, I thought of a possibility. Can I make a shadow clone or some shit like that? Preferably without its own consciousness because that would be pretty stupid on my side.

After contemplating, I used Dark magic to make a clone of my shadow, but instead of making a clone of my shadow, it just made a shadow that doesn't resemble me in the slightest. That's not the actual definition of a shadow clone, but at least it doesn't have its own consciousness and is not usable to gangbang women. Take that Naruto and your stupid Jutsu that grants consciousness to your f.u.c.k.i.n.g shadow clones. I bet he gangbanged his wife and ultimately led him to cucking himself.

[New Skill Learnt! Shadow Summoning]

I controlled the shadow of mine with a smirk and let it run rampant and let the guards find it. After that, I made it use magic and waited for that one specific guard to use his silencing skill. After a while, the guard who has the silencing skill used it on the shadow, and the grin on my face gradually grew larger.

I spared no time as I immediately used [Eye of Space (Low Mortal)] on him.

[Eye of Space (Low Mortal) failed to activate due to the target having high mental fortitude -40,000 MP]

[Would you like to improve {Eye of Space (Low Mortal} by permanently decreasing one of your attributes by 300? Y/N]

The moment I saw the message pop out, my grin faltered. If I couldn't use this, I couldn't pass to the next stage… And I can't just let myself fail this challenge, or I'll be weakened by a month… A F.U.C.K.I.N.G MONTH.

The shadow I created already went down. I need to make a choice… However, I can't just waste my attributes like that. I summoned another shadow and made it attack to see if the guard can still use the silencing skill, and he could… quickly too…

Unable to make a choice, I took a look at my attributes panel.

--------Attributes--------

HP: 124,927/124,927

MP: 370,690/450,690

STR: 2,993

INT: 2,996

DEF: 2,998 (+910)

MDEF: 2,995 (+560)

SPD: 2,997

AGI: 2,994

As I saw how much mana I had left, I facepalmed myself. Based on the amount that was gone, each shadow cost 20,000 MP; since I summoned two, I wasted 40,000 MP and adding the 40,000 MP from [Eye of Space (Low Mortal)]. If I wait for my MP to restore, I can safely say that I could summon at least twenty-two clones.

I then proceeded to take a look at the skill [Shadow Summoning]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skill: Shadow Summoning

Level: 1 (54%)

Mana Required: 20,000

Mana Required (Skill Maintain): None

Description:

You are able to summon shadows that are in your complete control. The HP and MP are determined by how much mana the host has at maximum and splits it in half. All the other attributes are the same as the host. Does not have its own consciousness, but all the shadows will have consciousness when summoned if the skill reaches a certain level. If there are summoned shadows, if they are levelled, they will undoubtedly get their own consciousness. The summoned shadows are all of the opposite genders than the host. Will not die unless the host dies or, of course, when all of their HP is gone. They can be stored in the host's shadow.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I was reading through it, I couldn't help but sigh in relief. When I read that the shadows will have their own consciousness, I was pretty nervous, but when I read all the shadows I summon are all girls, I instantly felt better. At least I wouldn't have to get rid of this skill anymore. But damn, this skill is overpowered.

I also wouldn't worry about their HP and MP as it is all based on the amount of mana I hold. Since I have 450,690 MP, they basically have 225,345 HP and MP. AND, I could summon more without the need to worry about the other shadows disappearing since THEY WON'T DISAPPEAR.

Unless the silencing skill of that one particular guard is an AOE skill, or he can cast it to multiple targets simultaneously, they can defeat all of the shadows, but it's an easy win if it isn't. But the case of the guard's skill being an AOE skill is impossible unless the concept of friendly fire doesn't exist in this place.

The system tried to scam me… Well, let's just forget about it. Without further ado, I laughed lightly as my MP restored. It took about 3 minutes for my MP to restore, and I summoned twenty-two shadows all at once and decided to wait a bit more and let them hide in my shadow.

About sixteen minutes and forty-five seconds later, my MP is back to the maximum again, and I decided to summon twenty-two more. I waited for my MP to fill up, and with my forty-four shadows, I smirked whilst boldly walking up to the guards.

"Hey, dipshits!"

The guards all turned to look at me, and anger flared in their eyes. They then unsheathed their weapons and aimed at me as they shouted, "A prisoner should be obedient! Go back to your cell, or we will kill you!"

"I see! Well… I decline!"

"Such insolence! KILL THE PRISONER!!!"

I let the hidden shadows out of my own shadow and let them cast the most potent spell they can use. The guard who had the silencing skill could only cast it on one shadow, which was a great advantage for me, so I widely smiled. The guards all focused their attention on the silenced shadow but were unable to kill it since I continuously cast dark magic and healed the shadow.

You might ask, "Why are you able to heal the shadow with dark magic!?", well, they absorb the dark magic, and it makes them restore their HP and MP. The stronger the dark magic cast, the better the effects. Basically, any type of dark magic is unusable against them. Well, light magic does do double the regular damage, but still. And based on my analysis, I can level them all up and possibly make them build up Light Magic Resistance or something like that.

The shadows ultimately killed all the guards quite quickly, and I'm delighted. I then let the shadows try to scavenge the loot of the guards, and they were successful. I then decide to look at the loot's attributes given to me by the shadows by using [Observe].

All of the loot was top tier and satisfied me. I then decide to give the first twenty shadows to have the armour and hid them all in my shadow.

With that, I decided to take a look at the [Shadow Summoning]'s level, and it was already at Level 4 (20%), which means if I summon 16 more shadows, it will level up to Level 5. Maybe I can make them a group of some sort when they all have consciousness… Maybe when I go back to my world, I can make them become a vigilante group… So many possibilities!

Anyway, I should head out to the next stage.
